Currently I am using Internet Explorer, but I have tried Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. I have tried restarting the browser a few times, and sometimes even my computer, but sadly it doesn't seem to want to work. Thank you for the suggestion though.
The annoying part is that I'm an electrical engineering student and I can't seem to figure out the problem with this, haha the irony... Thank you for the suggestion though! I appreciate the help. (last edited by Rinorim on 04-06-12 12:03 PM) |

Davideo7 : I try to download the plugin but when I install it says "There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to be complete could not be run. Contact your support personal or package vendor." I have installed that c++ thing but it still wont work. Sorry I contacted direct but I couldn't work out how to post.

I still have the issue of the plugin error on 1964, and when I try to play certain games using the mupens, they don't work just because of the particular game, they will load, but they have glitches and sometimes won't play right like donkey kong 64... I've tried nearly every solution that I could think of, but I still have no idea.
Are there any common problems with windows 7 machines running a strong video card with strong software and processing power? |

Rinorim : Try downloading CCleaner, and running it, then re-installing the Retro Game Room Plug-In. That might work. I have to do it every time there is an update. I have given the same advice to a few others, and they say that helps. So give it a shot, and let me know if it works.

Rinorim : I think it's just not able to emulate properly on your PC because of compatibility problems with your graphic card. I have the same problem with it - but from looking at screenshots on the game page, it looks like some people were able to get past that freeze glitch.
I spent about 2 hours testing out various roms and video plugins to see if I could get past that part with the RGR Plugin, but it just won't with either emulator. However, I don't have any freezing problems while running that game on my local Project64 emulator, too bad that's not available in the Rgr though. |

First of all, thank you both for helping, that was really quite useful information and it did helpful a lot!
I appreciate it Anyways, I have some information that might be useful to all, I spent hours attempting to get the 1964 emulator to work, and I finally did. I updated my video card software, and that didn't quite do it, but what did do it was when I turned off my video card altogether. Turns out my video card was too advanced for the games, so for those of you with excellent video cards, try disabling them, and see how that works. This will put a bit more strain on your computer which won't hurt it, but it will cost you power faster, so just be aware of that. The other thing I'd like to mention is that PC controllers don't work as well on 1964 as they do on mupens, it acts as though I'm pushing the control stick slightly in a random direction even when I'm not... so that's kinda annoying. I absolutely can't wait until the Donkey Kong 64 works without this little control glitch. I'm so excited!!! ![]() Anyone with any questions, I may be able to answer them, I spent 4 hours trying to get this to work <_< Anyways, thanks all for your patience. |

I have a question, why is it telling me plugin not found?
I can't uninstall and install, even when I delete and redownload, this problem still occurs. I could use CCleaner, though that would delete the AntiVirus my dad set up (the AntiVirus isn't the problem BTW, it was set up before I ever started using Vizzed). Any other way I can do it without CCleaner? |

Florida0: I had the same issue a few times, have you tried disabling your video card? It doesn't have any permanent or negative ramifications on your computer, but you might not be able to run other games while its disabled, but you can easily just re-enable it whenever you want to.
The problem is probably that your video card doesn't like the retro game room plugin so it crashes each time. Try disabling it and check back in and see if it works. Make sure to restart your browser after you disable it. Good luck!Rinorim (last edited by Rinorim on 04-13-12 12:03 PM) |

Ok, if you're running windows 7, click the fancy button at the bottom left of the screen... also known as the start menu, type in "device" into the search bar at the bottom (don't hit enter). Then click on "device manager" in the list that pops up.
by the way, don't type the quotes into the search bar. Like in the word "device" just type device. This should bring up a window with a bunch of complicated computer things, haha. Click on the one that says "display adapters" and you should have two options, now I don't know what your options will be because I don't know why type of video card you have, tell me what options you have when you get to that point, and I'll continue. (by the way, if you make it that far, the second option SHOULD, be the video card, you should find the option to disable it in there, but like I said, it depends on your video card.) Hello, everyone! How are you guys doing?
I'm extremely angry because I'm not allowed to download any programs on my laptop. My mother always says "No!" I wish I could download many programs. I would be extremely excited right now, but I'm not. I just wish I could download programs. I told my mother, "One day, I'm going to save up some money and purchase my own laptop." I'm being serious, guys. I can't wait for that day. The jolly event that I like is when I'm able to invite my twenty-one-year-old cousin to my uncle's house. He let's me download programs, hack stuff on my uncle's Wii, and let's me use it when it's available. I can't wait for that jolly event to occur again. By the way, good luck and goodbye!

Yeah, that is your video card! The nvidia is a very good one too, so that's the problem. Just double click it and then a pop up window will pop up. Choose the "driver" tab at the top of the window, and you should see an option to disable it. Go ahead and disable it, then restart every browser window you have open, if any, and then just try the games and see what happens!

It did not work, I still can't install. All it really did was make font bigger. Is there anything else I do after disabling the video card?

Sorry, unfortunately I don't know anything else you can try other than trying a different web browser like Google Chrome. It seems to work the best out of all of them, sorry the video card thing didn't work for you

pdspnukem3d : I get that too while using the 1964 emulator, but it works normal for me when using the Rice video plugin in the top right corner of the game window. Some N64 games will have messed up graphics which can be fixed by trying the various video plugins or the other Mupen64 emulator.

I'm sure this will seem like a repeat post in this thread, but I wanted to try everything. I'm pretty much at a loss, at this point.
I'm using Windows 7, and Firefox is not an option for me, right now, but here's what happens... I download the RGR plugin. My computer says it was installed successfully. I try to play a game. It says, "Plugin not found." I've closed my browser after installing. Turned the whole computer off. Uninstalled and then reinstalled. Disabled "Protected Mode." Added Vizzed to my trusted sites. Turned off my graphics card. "Plugin not found." I'm pleased with simply playing 8 and 16 bit games, but I'd like to be able to play 32+ bit games, if I want to. Currently, I just don't see it happening, considering how much I've tried to figure it out, already. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. -MAP |
