I love physical copies of games. Collecting them, having the cases and everything inside is kind of just as fun as playing the game (if it's a bad game...then it's more fun). I love to line a shelf with my favourite games, and organise them in a fashion that I'd be able to find what I'm looking for easily. I did woodwork in school, and so, I've actually made a couple of wooden artefacts to allow me to both display and move my games easily. Physical copies cost more (usually) but personally, I think it's worth it. PS1 cases are pretty cool in my opinion. I've always loved the glass cases, with the cool shape, spine and blurb. Only problem is they were easily damaged, but it's really cool to find legit cases these days that are in pretty good shape. And there's always the joy from the old days...of changing the game's disc For anyone who has played Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII or any game that has been on multiple discs, you'll know what it's like to see the "Disc Change" screen, where we all get a feeling of accomplishment for coming far in the game. Then we eject the disc, pop it back in the case, and take out the next disc. Of course, this also meant that if we lost or ruined a disc, there'd be parts of the game that we would have no access to, so it wasn't always such a good thing. As discs can get damaged, stolen or lost like that, they had their disadvantages. I emulate games sometimes, but only if I can't play my disc. For the most part, I love discs. Gotta collect them all. Something's gotta make my shelves look pretty.

To me, it depends on what I'm playing on. If it's my PS3 or 360, I definitely want physical copies of the games I get. If it's for my computer, though, I'll take digital every day of the week.

I like owning physical copies of games but I don't like playing them.

I'm a collector, but everything runs better digitally (which is why i download my PSP games, aside from the whole "free" thing)

So I like both but gameplay is much smoother digitally, assuming you have nice specs. Disk loading times suck.

Cartridge games are nice too since you can't ruin a cartridge by scratching it

The collector in me loves having physical copies even if there may be scratches. Currently I wouldn't be able to download games digitally on my PS4 or 3DS anyways since I only have the default storage space which isn't really  that much, but I have been planning on getting more storage for my 3DS as far as I'm aware there's no easy way to expand the storage of the PS4 though. Something about playing digital games on either of those systems just doesn't feel right

Though when playing games on my laptop all my games are digital, even though my laptop can't run too many games smoothly so it's mostly smaller games and in that case I really prefer having it that way.

I would rather have games digitally because even if your console breaks, and you have to get a new one the game is free, if you already payed for it, and the game won't get messed up.

The disk always reigns supreme, especially if it's a game that I cherish deeply. But if need be, I'll get a download. But physical copies rule over all.

Digital.  I lost my copy of PS2 Dokapon Kingdom somewhere in my house (in case, of course). I get everything digital for XBX1 - also allows you to share with a friend you trust!

I prefer to have my games in physical form I mean, with digital if the hard drive melts down it's *basically* lost forever, plus data corruptions and what not.

Though I'm not saying physical disks are perfect it's just easier for me to use/retain them and not have to worry about too much happening to them outside of someone messing it up(which thankfully doesn't happen).

Digital is super convenient at times but I'd much rather have it in my hand you know?

As of right now I prefer a physical copy for the fact that my PS3 is of the Fat series and has barely any storage capacity. If I were to have 3 digital copies on my PS3 it would take up over half of the space on my hard drive. Not good. That being said, if/when I get a newer PS3 model I wouldn't mind having some digital copies because it would be a lot more convenient.

I said if/when I get a newer PS3 model instead of getting the PS4 because I have way to many PS2 and PS3 games that I couldn't play on the PS4 unfortunately.

I have a foot in each camp. I mean, physical copies are sometimes cool because of the stuff in the case, but that has become something of a rarity. Digital is convenient because I can download whenever I want and it takes less physical space.

Clayton 2 : I'm not so sure. I mean, there are loads of things that could go wrong with physical copies - disks get scratched, snap, stepped on, etc., cartridge contacts could degrade, batteries lose their charge, those batteries can leak and corrode the interior of the cartridge, etc.

If you mean that digital copies will lose popularity and physical will be the only ones sold by publishers, I think that the opposite is true. On physical disks companies need to pay licensing fees to the disk manufacturer - that's what happened with the DVD and it's the reason that Nintendo isn't using BluRay ATM. Also, at some point bandwidth will become so much cheaper than a disk that publishers will either abandon the physical platform or bump physical prices up to compensate. This is something that we already see on some level with the infrequency of physical game sales and the fact that, up until recently, PC games were selling at $50 baseline while consoles were sitting at $60 for a decade.

I like physical games. It just feels like it's more worth the price when it comes in it's own box, you know? Although I do have a few digital games because they are overall easier to get, and better when I'm the only one at my house that wants them.

Physical copy. I like being able to hold what I spent money on. Plus physical storage is more forgiving than digital storage. And if I ever want to sell it,I can do so with a physical copy.

I will admit I have great memories of playing old disc games on my PC. However, that "era" is gone now and there is an every growing need-especially for me- to have a more adaptable medium to store the games. It's the reason I play Quake III on Steam now instead of that disc that isn't compatible with newer OS's.

So yeah, I prefer digital distribution.

I prefer physical copy because I don't play much digital games. Plus it makes me happy that I brought that game as a physical copy. For pc it will just take up space on my laptop and stuff which I don't want. Then because of that my laptop becomes slow.
