Thanks so much, man. I have been waiting eagerly to play in the RGR again after you told me how to fix the problem with my PC controller. (Thanks for that, I was being dumb. I had no idea there was a switch xD) I just wonder why Chrome decided to do this. Anyways, I sincerely thank you for finding a solution for this. You are very helpful to everyone on the site, and I respect that.

LunarDarkness2 : Glad I could help.
You're not dumb for not noticing that switch. Most people don't when they get that controller.

Thanks for the find, dude! I was starting to think I'd have to switch to Firefox for RGR, but it's great that you were able to find a fix for it. Also, I think you may want to sticky this thread since it seems that a lot of people have been having similar problems. But this is a huge help, and thanks a lot for going in and finding it out. I wonder why it started disabling it, because like I'm sure many others have, I have used the latest update plenty of times before this happened.

Thank you for this but it's kinda weird for me.  I did the same exact thing and it still doesn't show up in Plugins.

Thanks for the easy instructions and info! After restarting my laptop, it worked for me too. I totally did not want to switch over to another browser.

vanelan : Yeah, I got it to work now.  I had some problems at first but I got the plugin to work now.  I heard that Google is gonna disable all NPAPI plugins permanently later on in the year though.

vanelan : Thanks for the solution. I edited your post and added a little more information. With your permission, I'm also going to edit the thread title so that it draws more attention because I'm also going to Sticky this thread and make an announcement with the details of this thread and provide a link from that announcement to this thread. This Chrome update affects a lot of users.

Btw, is it possible to downgrade Chrome to the last version? If so, we could provide that as an alternate solution.

Odd, I can't find this on my Toshiba at all. However, I was able to on my older Dell. But now that  NulDNL thing is popping up again and not letting me use the 'access plug-ins' option. WTF?

Davideo7 : I was hoping to not have so many threads stickied.
I think since there are so many already, users tend to ignore the sticky threads and just post.
I tried to make a thread with common issues, but it would seem that is being ignored as well.

I'll have to look into getting older versions of Chrome and making it so they don't automatically get updated.

I just stumbled across this myself the hard way... No idea what to do when Chrome disables it permanently in September. Guess I'm back to not updating my Chrome, since apparently a few things I use rely on NPAPI.

Davideo7:

Two ways to block Auto-Updates.
a. block googleupdater.exe via firewall
b. registry edit
--- http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/disable-chrome-automatic-updates/ (bleepingcomputer guide)

Note for all wanting to do this, you need to have Chrome V 42.0.2311.90 m or earlier to keep you NPAPI. You may still need to re-enable NPAPI manually. Make sure that if you have a newer version of Chrome, uninstall it and download the version of Chrome that you want. (Google the version if needbe.) Make sure that you have only the version that you want to block from updating installed before you do the registry edits if you are going to use that method, otherwise, you will need to edit the registry twice.

Ktanaqui : I am gonna look around a bit and see which version is the newest that doesn't disable them.
I guess all Chrome users will be stuck with that version as well...or will have to switch to FF for vizzed.
