The most difficult game franchise have you played like Mortal Kombat, Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Fighter, Megaman, Ninja Gaiden, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or etc for any game system. The most difficult game franchise is Megaman to me. I can keep up with the other game franchises but Megaman give me fits. I can beat some of those other game franchises, but megaman games take me awhile.

I actually agree with you, I've always had a hard time with Mega Man games for some reason. They require you to have insane reflexes and while I feel like I have pretty good reflexes, those games make my reflexes look really bad...

Franchise? Well yeah, also Mega Man.

But the one I can't do? Turn based RPG's. Not a franchise, but I suck at all of them, except Pokémon. So I'll just put Final Fanasty because it fits.

If you want to talk about insane reflex games that are ridiculously hard, play the Touhou franchise.
I have the first PC Rom on my computer right now and it's like one of the earliest Touhou games ever, and it still mops the floor with me.
Galaga's got nothin on this.

I would probably have to say something along the lines of turn based RPGs, like paper luigi said. I know it's not a franchise, but those are just way to hard for me to do.

Will1 : I agree with you, the Mega Man franchise is extremely difficult. In some X games, I can't even beat a single boss! Zelda was a close one.

Do indie game franchises count? The first thing that came to mind for me is the Jumper game series, primarily Jumper 2 (from mattmakesgames.com). I'm fairly certain it's exactly where Super Meat Boy gained its inspiration, but Jumper 2 definitely has the higher difficulty level

Section Z, no doubt. That game alone puts entire franchises like Castlevania, Dark Souls and Ghosts 'n Goblins to shame!

The ninja gaiden trilogy on the original Nintendo the hardest franchise I've ever played. Never would have beaten it without quick saves. Respawning enemies and the crazy ridiculous time limit all with a really short sword and very demanding tiny platforms. It's definitely the hardest.

I also give a shout out to Mega Man but monsters all have weaknesses and eventually energy tanks were thrown in the mix, but it's still one of the hardest franchises of gaming.

Last I'll throw in Castlevania, especially on the original Nintendo as well. Never played 2, but 1 and 3 are also VERY difficult games. The game boy advance titles are fairly challenging too but of course the king of difficulty goes to the NES.

Ones I found difficult were Castlevania and Megaman. For Megaman, it was mainly the X series which got me frustrated due to its difficulty, but there were some games that were pretty easy in the series (MX2).

I would have to say the Mega Man series like most people.

Unlike most people, I would have to say that the classics were harder than the X series. I just found the X series easier than the classics (with some exceptions...)

Then Mega Man Zero comes along, and makes Mega Man 2 look easy in comparison.

I'm also terrible at strategy games. It's not a franchise, but I find them all hard. Warcraft (not WOW, the old ones) would be a prime example.

I did/do have a lot of trouble with Megaman games but I find myself having more trouble with games like Wizardly, for those who don't know it's a dungeon crawler game where you get a party of people and level them up to kill the big bad.

I play TONS of these games mainly in the Etrian Odyssey franchise and they are brutal to boot.

1 word sums it up I guess FOE

Hardest level in Mario I ever played was Tubular! It was so hard I thought this was a horrible game! But I beat it after 25 tries. (42-25=17!)

I completely agree with you. MegaMan is the most difficult to me. I don't recall ever completing a MegaMan game for that very reason.
