SilverHyruler : Lawl. Well, you better watch out! You're in 3rd place right now, so you're doing pretty good considering. Yea, getting points in the TdV is pretty easy. Just post, or make a game guide .

PacmanandMariofan : Oh really? Why was the user DQed? And here I am, asking questions I probably shouldn't. Lawl. Anyways, I hope you get some points today. Getting points in the TdV is pretty easy. Just post, or make a game guide .

I enjoy the TdV. I like the change of atmosphere, and I like the competitive spirit.

I joined just as a TdV was starting, and it was that fun atmosphere that kept me here.

You may think that after having helped check the forums for 5 TdVs (this one will be my sixth), I'd have gotten sick of it. I do admit to being exhausted by the end of the month. And at points, I do think it's a lot of trouble. Overall, however, I've seen it do a lot more good than bad. Friendships are made. People contribute meaningful material to the site. A lot of new interesting threads pop up. People actively check some of the smaller forums. It's true that conversations are harder to hold, but I don't think that they're THAT much harder. If you feel like someone is abusing the system or making low quality posts, don't feel afraid to report them. The current one-and-done DQ system is meant to quickly get rid of such competitors.

I also feel like each TdV has gotten progressively better than the last. It's noticeably improving, and I think this TdV had one of the quietest startups in almost a year. It's day 5 and we have yet to DQ.

There are still changes to be made, sure. It's an ever-improving process.

However, I have confidence that the TdV will keep up with its current trend and that it will continue to be a uniquely Vizzed competition that brings the community closer together.

SilverHyruler : To tell you from another user that has won a TdV in the past, what my thoughts are about this. I think to my point of view, TdV is great to some people to make their mark on Vizzed's history, we had 13 members (myself included) that has made their mark by winning TdV, and others want to set foot to their TdV fame, that is why they do as much as they can to make their mark in history.

Sure, for the past 13 TdVs, we have seen very active TdVs, very quiet TdVs and very spammy TdVs *cough* Summer 2013's TdV *cough*.

Over the course of 13 TdVs, we have seen a lot of updates to the competitions such as the major update in Summer 2014 with 2 of the 4 jerseys updated with the CPs so we can merge the CP VCS and TdV together into 1 month, and it was a good move David make.

But I agree with EM, I have experienced 8 TdVs (including this month) and 6 of those while I have been a Local Mod. I have experienced my first TdV being the spammiest TdV in Vizzed history, but it got better and better by time.

IgorBird122 : there have been 13 TdV's? Dang... I knew we'd had a lot but I didn't think it was that many.

EideticMemory : I second you on the fact that the tdv is getting better. With the addition of the limits to the red and green jerseys, it makes it a lot more fun and fair for us trusted members.

People do spam a bit but I have a feeling people have one feeling on TDV because of it's past. Now TDV people make at least decent sized posts rather than just one word posts. Most people however just assume it is a spam fest because it encourages you to post more. Then that general feeling for it just gets spread around and people just keep on saying it when it is false most of the time.

The mods now take TDV very seriously and spam has been decreased for competition months a lot with all of the rules that are in place now. Such as the rule that you are not allowed to post multiple part walthroughs which is great for TDV since it decreases people getting so much CP in a few days each day.

Then some people do not spam very much because they know that just because it is TDV does not mean you can just go around and post random stuff all over the place with no consequences.

To answer the other part of your question. I think there is a TDV to just simply increase activity since you see not a whole lot of posts on non TDV months but you see people posting a lot more on TDV months which 1/4 of the year.

Also I do not see why people would even spam seeing you do not really get much of a reward except your username looks the slightest bit different and then you can say. Woo I won TDV.

SilverHyruler : Ever since 2015, in both TDVs, so far, we barely saw any spammers. I think TDV was created because the board wasn't really active. With TDV here, I think it really boosts the board and forums, and users become much more active. There have been some spammy TDVs, of course, but in this year, it is a whole lot different.

So, yeah, the point of TDV is to make the board and forums more active.

Barathemos :

Yeah, totally.
The fact that Yuna1000 is second for the month in green, and janus is winning red is a testament to that.

But seriously, it's one thing to complain and another to actually search for solutions. There is a thread in development about limits. You could post there with ideas. You can also suggest ideas via PM to the local/global inbox. If you have an idea for new actions that would be for all members, we'd like to hear it.

Ideally there are enough CP actions that nobody would have time to reach their limits in everything in a day. In that case, they would able to stay competitive with staff members all day. But we need ideas to make this happen. Complaining is not enough.

That's why you'll rarely see me complain on the boards themselves. The vast majority of the time I'm trying to provide a solution. If it gets shot down because it has a problem with it, fine. I could try to think of something else if I have more ideas. At the very least, I have tried to offer a solution instead of complain.

The reason why the TdV got better is because David and others found out solutions to problems we saw, regardless of the complaining we saw about it. Complaining played a very minor role.
