What do you think is the greatest song in a Dreamcast game? Find that game, find the music within that game and record it! Since the RGR Plugin doesn't support


MEGA Competition:
This is going to be classified as a Mega competition because not only do 5 people get prizes but there's also cash prizes.


RULES and INFO:
-You can submit up to 7 submissions
-Each submission needs to be 1 video
-You can only do 1 song per a game
-You can only do up to 2 songs per a franchise
-Videos must be shorter than 4 minutes and longer than 30 seconds
-Your video cannot contain more than 1 song
-You can not edit your video in any way, it needs to be raw footage
-Be sure to let me know in this thread which videos you've uploaded
-Be sure to specify which game each submission is for
-Your videos must be uploaded to the Vizzed YouTube account
-You may use cheats to get to the song you're looking for
-You may do the same game as someone else but not the same song for the same game
-You cannot do the same song as someone else, even if the same song belongs to a different game (unless the song sounds significantly different)
-You must add your video to the game's page (which should happen automatically when you upload your video to the Vizzed YouTube account)
-Once the competition is over, I'll be doing a Twitch stream where users can vote on the songs
-Your submission should have as few sound effects as possible (so try not to move or fight enemies and use the sound test whenever possible)
-If 2 users submit the same song to this competition, whichever user uploaded their video to the Vizzed YouTube account first gets credit


FAQ
Q = Can I use music from a hacked game?
A = Music from hacked and homebrew games do not count. A translation hack does count.

Q = How do I upload videos?
A = Scroll about half way down the page where you see the video area and then click the 'Click to Upload your Video to Vizzed YouTube'. Here's a screenshot of it:



Tip:
If the game lets you listen to each song from the game on the options screen (sometimes referred to as the sound test page), you may do your recording from that. You may also mute all sounds (some games support this in the options) for when you're playing on the level that has the music you want to capture.

Tip 2:
It is suggested that you try not to make too many noises in the game when you're attempting to record the music, other noises would be a distraction and will lower the chances of your song from being voted for. If possible, try to stand still on a level.

Tip 3:
Before adding a song, check the game's page in the Retro Game Room to see if someone has already submitted that song for that game.

Tip 4:
Mednafen has built in video recording capabilities so if you want to use the RGR Plugin to record your music, play the game with mednafen. NOTE: If you do record with Mednafen, DO NOT compress the video with Freemake, that'll distort the video.

Dreamcast video recording, you'll have to use an external program.

The cash Prizes can be paid out in a few ways. I can purchase a membership on a website for you somewhere, I can order something for you off of amazon, I can send you the money via Paypal, I can buy you Microsoft Points, Nintendo Points or Playstation Points and send you the code, I can buy you an Amazon gift card and send you the code, etc.

Darn, I promised to participate in this next system music contest thingy, but I can't play Dreamcast games. As I mentioned before, my computer doesn't run them well. Are you going to hold any more of these contests in the future?

We obviously have to use the RGR Plugin for this competition, right? I wouldn't be allowed to say record some SA2 music from Battle? Or same with Crazy Taxi (though you already covered the CT theme...)? 

Might go crazy and participate in all the competitions this month. My laptop definitely has the room for these games, just weighing my options first if I can avoid superfluous downloads. 

Also, your initial post says that the month's half over. Could've sworn it just started haha

OH and the link in your initial post for Crazy Taxi high score competition leads to the March competition for Marble Madness

Is there any other way we can get these songs without using the RGR plugin, because many of the games don't have a sound test or cheats, and force you to play through the game to get to the song you want to hear :/ and some of them are far into the game too.

I would love to enter this but I got a major problem, dreamcast is not working for me I am using  plugin 2.25 and as soon as I start the plugin crashes. I have tried the previous versions 2.12 as well the plugin with dreamcast screenshot support no go, I have reinstalled the plugin several times both 2.25 and 2.12 no go. Not only that I have tried 5 different browsers opera, chrome, firefox, I.E and Lunarscape still no go. I tried to clear all cookies ran a registry cleaner and done a defrag a virus check with both AVG and Malwarebytes and my windows 8.1 pro is fully up to date as well as my drivers for my PC and it is still is a no go any help please.

danielbelitch : You have to use the RGR Plugin, correct. You don't record with the RGR Plugin though since DC on here doesn't support video recording.
