What is your favorite inspirational song/what you listen to when your depressed. I struggle from depression and I would like a list of songs list the genre too. My favorite is from Tristam and Braken's "frame of mind", and it's EDM

laborsome1 : When I read the title Inspirational song I figured it could be any subject but you say it deals with depression? I don't have just one song that'd be BEST for you or others to listen to....as recovery from depression by music is different for everyone. For example: sometimes when I'm down...listening to depressing music actually does help me, while 2 days later really upbeat music might help me more.

I may not know the exact genre of music but if I don't I'll list what it's from or what it's based inside but for me my list of best songs to help would be...

Number One R&B Remix ~ This song as you would guess is a remix of the original "Number One" song used in the anime "Bleach" What makes me enjoy this version more and makes me essentially feel better is the R&B mix with the lyrics of the song and how it also give the song a nice echo effect at times. The actual lyrics mixed with that kind of dance/jazzy beat just makes you pumped up to doing whatever you want!

Never Meant To Belong Cello & Orchestra ~ If you're like myself though and sometimes sad music makes you look at things in perspective and can help things get better then this version (from the same show above) can help. Now while it is saddening it also kind of has a higher tone which gives off a sense of getting better while being surrounded by dread. It's definitely NOT a song you should start out with if you're completely crushed but good if you just have a tiny or not as overwhelming amount of depression at the time.

Speak With your Heart Cool Edge Mix (typcial sonic music x3 ?) ~ I was thinking between this song or Believe in yourself from sonic CD with is a complete 80's kind of jazz mix and nice theme thrown around but the Lyrics ARE PERFECT for when you're down....however I think This song does a better job and let's just say the voices aren't quite as....comical xD. "No words can say how much I care, together we can make a stand! Don't fall aparrrt, speak with your heaaart!" That alone just connects your feelings to a song especially if you're dealing with depression against someone you care about. Definitely a listen to if you already enjoy some music by Crush 40 from sonic games past.

Queen_Under Pressure ~ Just like with Number one is may be different from what you'd normally come to expect from an uplifting song and the beginning part may not be that great. But once you get deep into the song it starts to bring that strong and overly strengthening melody upon following with lyrics such as: "The terror of knowin...what this world's all about! Watching..some good friends...screaming LET ME OUT!" to put you in that mood of knowing why you're down...but then tossing you like a Mario Mushroom and uplifting you by changing to: "Love's such an old...fashioned wooord, and loves daares you, to caaare for, the people on the EDGE of the NIGHT!" Which helps you remember why you want to stay happy and stand up on your feet so a great choice here if you want a clue and how to resolve it at the same time! It's also a rock theme all the way.

Gaur Plains ~ This one already kicks itself off strong giving you that sense of a great adventure just like you'd experience in the game that it comes from, already pumps you up and gets you wanting to move but then it slowly changes 3 min through and changes by adding a harp as well as what seems to be a piano or xylaphone type of instrument in the background alongside the violin that is already heavily being played throughout the song's duration. Which just makes things so much more peaceful and relaxed and can definitely put you in a much better mood or at least have you smile a tiny bit. Judging from what you've read this is also a classical/orchestral type of song so there you go.

There are also songs like Starfox 64 ending which can help and many more but I feel these are the best at it! Maybe you might like them and hope you like this ;P

I guess my problem with these songs is that the "uplifting" songs just bring me even more down and the ones that are sort of "depressing" feel like I can relate to, but they don`t make me any happier. "Walking on sunshine " or "Shinny happy people" on a bad moment could make me really go over the edge. So I don't really know what to say to this, even though the question is good.

Well, this has cheered me up, maybe. It is melancholy, but fun.

laborsome1 : I like your style of music (Monstercat fan here )

I'm not usually depressed, but I know a good inspirational song: Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PivWY9wn5ps

He isn't my preferred artist or anything, but this song is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of inspiration. Back when I was in middle school, they used to play this song every Monday to boost the self-esteem of students. Most people didn't really care about it; they just saw the song as a 3 minute waster for 1st period, but I listen to the lyrics and I reflect on my future.

So yeah. I'm going to listen to it now...

One of the ones that tends to help me when I'm spiraling down again or trying to climb back UP is by Barlow Girl, called "Never Alone". It gives me enough hope to get through another day, usually, and sometimes that's all I can ask for. I would try to link a youtube video of it for you but youtube is frozen for me and has been for the past 15 minutes for some dumb reason.

Edit: Almost forgot the genre. It's Christian....I don't know what to call it. Slow rock?

I have a couple songs I use for inspiration, really.
The first one is Endless Possibilities by Bowling for Soup. The lyrics always spoke to me, and I just enjoy listening to it on a basic level. The guitar, the way things get tense roughly halfway through, it all just comes together and has me ready to tackle challenges afterwards.

The other one is Live Life by Crush 40. Like Endless Possibilities, the lyrics speak to me, and the singing is so heartfelt that the message feels more meaningful than other songs with a very similar message. It's not exactly hard rock, but it's beautiful anyway.

When "my depressed", it really depends on the underlying mood.

If it's anger, there are two main tracks I love to listen to with full volume and maximum bass: The Decisive Battle (Final Fantasy V) and Ooze (Phantasy Star IV). Everything vibrates around (or in my earphones) and it helps alleviate the anger.

For stress, I've created a playlist of about 100 video game tracks that help me relax but also wind down before I go to sleep. There are tracks from Final Fantasy VII (Who are you, Infiltrating Shinra Tower, Wutai), Xenogears (Omen - the absolute best I have - Faraway Promise, Shevat), Breath of Fire III (Yggdrasil, Eden), Chrono Trigger (The Brink of Times) and many more.

Finally, for simply uplifting songs, "Hey Ya!" (Outkast) is one song you can't possibly NOT become happy after listening to it.

Inspirational? I am going to have to say Crank Dat Soldier Boi, Travis Parker Remix. Don't ask me why, but for some reason, it gets me hype and makes me want to work out, which is something I seriously need to do right now.

Synthwave is my source of inspirational music. My favourite is Hang 'em All by Carpenter Brut. Others include:

-Deviance, Future Club, and Peturbator's Theme By Perturbator.

-I've also been getting into Lazerhawk recently, particularly this album.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
