I have seen this article on Yahoo... https://www.yahoo.com/tech/microsoft-is-killing-off-the-internet-explorer-113874075974.html
I figure I might as well post this.

Apparently, due to Internet Explorer's negative feedback, plus the success of Mozilla FireFox and Google Chrome, Microsoft has decided to officially cutting off services on Internet Explorer once Windows 10 is released sometime in the 2nd half of 2015, But Microsoft said that they will have a new internet program taking it's place called "Sparta", and Microsoft wants their new internet program to be efficient as both Firefox and Chrome are, but you know Microsoft, that might not happen.

Anyways, what are your thoughts with Internet Explorer coming to an end, to me, I think it's a good idea, Internet Explorer sucks?

It's definitely a good idea to rebrand their browser, considering "IE sucks" has become pretty much a meme by now, even though the most recent versions aren't actually as terrible as IE used to be by far.
Not up to par with Firefox and Chrome, but definitely not as bad any more as people still made it out to be.

And realistically Spartan probably is just going to be IE12 with a different name and skin, so cutting off old bad publicity is smart, and who knows, maybe it really is going to be great.

I do not even use Internet Explorer. The only time I ever used Internet Explorer on this laptop was to download Google Chrome on to it. Since Chrome is much faster and it is operated by Google so ya... why not have Google gain all the money and fame.

Internet Explorer has been slowly dying very much and has not been good for a long time. Microsoft as a whole has not been doing well for a long time on the Internet except for the buying of Minecraft. When they release this new browser I hope it is better than the old Internet Explorer.

Sparta is actually probably not going to be so much different than IE considering they are made by the same company. I do think that Sparta could have a decent chance though. Though to make this product good they need to put this on every time you start up the browser or on the place where you download it regularly.

THIS IS SPARTA!

I think it's a good idea, but honestly, it's going to be the same company making it I guess, right? So how would it be any different? They're going to have to spend a lot of extra money to even try to make any upgrades.

I doubt "Spartan" will have any difference from IE and this is just trying to stop the bad publicity and memes IE had. I'll stick with Firefox (open-source all the way!) as my main and Chrome if I have to use it . I can also see this really confusing those "All I know is that when I click the big "E", I can look at Google!" people (don't you just despise those people... no offense by the way if that's you). Spartan *could* be good but we all know how Microsoft is...

Why would they call it Sparta. Why. I think they wanted to make upgrades to Internet Explorer, but just decided to ultimately make a new browser because IE's reputation is terrible anyways, plus they couldn't make it as good as Chrome or Firefox without completely changing the interface even (IE is soooo not user-friendly). Like leod said, Internet Explorer actually is pretty nice these days, but still not as good as Firefox or Chrome.

All I want to know is what is this going to mean for programs like Skype that use IE as their 'background' start-up thing for updates and the like. I think that that is stupid, but since Skype is owned by Microsoft *groan* I assume they'll work that into it.

Honestly, I think this is just going to be Internet Explorer with a new skin and a new name. Same old clunkware, same old security risk, same old same old everything as always. Maybe they'll get better publicity by dropping the hated name, though. It might be something.

Still doubt it'll be as good as Chrome, but I'm reserving judgement until I see it in action.

Oh, the irony.

Starting in 1994, our good government overlords were constantly harassing Microsoft because of the 'monopoly" they had over computer softwares, notably Internet Explorer. Since Netscape couldn't get the people's appreciation, their simply brib... er lobbied government so they would kill this more competent competitor.

So all these taxes we wasted on that case were completely in vain... And we also "don't see" what Microsoft could have done to improve our lives further if it hadn't had to waste all that money on legal fees.

Prediction: Another major software/electronics giant will suffer the same fate should its market shares become "too" high.

IE should now stand for It's Ending.

I've known IE to be the browser that freezes an amazing amount of times on an amazing amount of pages XD

I'm very excited that Internet Explorer is going to be gone when Windows 10 is released and I hope that Sparta will be different from IE, aside from the skin and name!

I'm sad to see Internet Explorer bite the dust. Sure, it sucked so bad that we've been making it the butt of many browser jokes and memes since the release of its competitors, but at least it was one of the most iconic things on the Internet. Chances were high that if you used the Internet, you knew Internet Explorer.

Now what can we make fun of? The new spartan browser? I actually heard that it will be on par with the more popular browsers, so I can't wait to see that happen. However, life won't be the same without Internet Explorer...

Well the main reason IE is so slow is because it loads tons of encryption at the same time to make it a lot safer while Firefox focuses on speed not security Chrome I think is the balance between the other two browser.

I think it is an excellent idea because I catch many people in my school using internet explorer because it is what they have been taught to use in the school systems at least because it is the only icon on the task bar and they don't realize that there is a google chrome right on the desk top in front of them. I hope that they get a better browser because Internet Explorer is a very slow browser and I never liked using it because it looked not as nice as the other two browser. I understand that it wanted to focus on security but it just made the user experience very bad because of the long loading waits. I feel that Microsoft should aim for a beautiful yet fast looking broswer just like what bing is compared to google. I love going to bing because the search always gives you those gorgeous HD pictures on the background. If the broswer did something as simplistic yet as functional as that I think they would start off their new browser on the correct way. Nevertheless that would be another topic. The focus right now is that they are going to switch their browser. Hallelujah!

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
