Which out of the three big console company do you think is going to die off like sega and atri?

It will be either Nintendo or Microsoft. Well Microsoft itself won't die, but their console gaming division will.
Chances are that Nintendo will hang on for a while what with their nasty gimmicks and diehard Nintendo fans that don't realise that the Nintendo of now isn't the one they grew up with.
The only way it will survive is to dump the gimmicks and go back to making quality games and consoles like in the Snes days.
But Microsoft only have the support of people with the attention span of a goldfish and will go under.
It's happening already, people are getting fed up with their badly made consoles and games.

I think Sony is going to die off like Sega and Atari.

I think sony will, because Nintendo has the Wii and the Ds and a lot more and Microsoft has a lot of games for PC.

Sony is the most likely to die off first. It has limited game veriety, lacks the legacy that nintendo has, and a poor handheld system when compared with the DS.

Microsoft would be next, mostly because of a lack of game variety, though they also do not have the history that Nintendo has. Their endless hardware problems with the Xbox 360 also negatively impact the company. On the other hand, they are a small part of a much bigger company, and can get support from the rest of it. They don't seem likely to fail any time in the near future.

Nintendo has better game variety (all be it, the games are much different), a superior handheld system, and the legacy of being around forever and always being the best. They also appeal much more to the casual gamers, as opposed to the hardcore gamers, which is a smaller market. I'm not a huge fan of the touch screen and motion sensitive remote, but at least they are responsive.

I think you're all undersetimating the history and support Sony has.
Sony itself develops alot more games then Microsoft. MS just sanctions alot of games but plays no part in the development process.
Nintendo itself has no real lagacy as it cut itself off from its old target audience, essentially starting over from scratch.
Which in essence makes it not much older then the other two when considering their history with their target audience.

Mricosoft will die 1st (but will still be giving people blue screens of death(also known as pcs if you people think I don't make sence)

followed by sony (they will be like sega (gived up).

Then nintendo will still be living BUT they will return to the basics


I dunno about you but I think sega got a backup plan and there's going to be a new team (I dunno whats it going to be called) !

Seriously though, I'd have to agree with you on Microsoft's console division giving out. Their library of games simply stinks & their consoles are crappy. That's one thing I'll definitely give a thumbs up to Nintendo for. With the possible exception of some issues with a few controllers, Nintendo builds their systems well. It takes a while for them to break. Especially the handhelds. I've dropped my portable Nintendo systems many times onto really hard surfaces & they still worked afterward. And Sony, as much as I like Nintendo(see DH's quote about diehard fans ), will possibly outlast Nintendo mainly because of graphics. I have no problem with Nintendo's graphics. I like them but more people, sadly, buy games more for the graphics & less for the story & Sony does have superior graphics.


Having said that, and even though they started on Nintendo, Sony does have the MGS & FF series going for them. MGS would be the main reason why I'd get a Sony system. And what can I say? I'm a sucker for RPGs.

well sonny is more likely to die of sooner than Microsoft and Nintendo well it is obvious that Nintendo is not gonna die of any time soon and Microsoft has a few great exclusives an well I personally think that sonny will be the first to fall

Sony would be the most likely to die first (least stable financially) but I'm sure Sony will still be here long after were gone.

couldnt have said it better myself... Microsoft is too greedy, and power hungry to have a devoted console team.... they will fall behind the curve in the years to come

Unless the make their consoles user friendly, and by that i mean editable to the users wants/needs.

The original xbox was cool because it could be made into a storage unit for ROMS and emulators for all kinds of consoles.... with a little work and womans intuition that is of course ¬_¬

Nintendo still leads the market in both console and handheld, and the Playstation series are doing pretty well.

Microsoft's section of the video game market will fall, and I don't think the industry has long to wait. The 360 hasn't been doing as well as it did in 06-07, and the PS3 is basically just a 360 with extra hardware. I personally think Microsoft is a scourge to the VG market, they should just stick to making computers.

Also, SEGA never really dies out. They just quit making consoles due to the Dreamcast's extensive piracy and the Saturn sucking.

Mmmh, Tough one, but pretty interesting, I'm gonna say...Sony.

The PS3 has a very limited game variety (shooters, that's it), at least, if you go on exclusives, the Xbox is a lot better, as for the wii, there is no comparison, they got every type of game imaginable, so point goes to Sony this time.

Sony is already knocking on death's door. If PS3 doesn't step it up in sales (FF XIII might be helpful in that endeavor) then it might as well be discontinued.

Microsoft will die of first for some main reasons unlike sony and Nintendo. Microsoft is a computer company in general with not many if any games made by them and the CP is not just for games but for other task such as office and etc. Microsoft game divison will go down cause the xbox games really suck ass anymore. An sony PSP and PS3 might make it last longer cause when I went out I seen a bunch of highschoolers play with a PSP rather than DS. Nintendo like everyone elses reason will last the longest. They been around for the last 111 years in the entertaining busneiss and it won't stop there.

Nintendo may fall first, and it may seem weird to say it, but its because they are a game-only company. that is they do nothing BUT make video games. both Sony and Microsoft have things to draw money out of if they ever needed to, while Nintendo would be screwed. also, i have no clue what that second guy was smoking... DS the superior handheld? HA! that had me laughing. really, really hard. anyways, the only reason i think that Nintendo is hanging in there is because their systems are so cheap.

Sony would be doing really good if they didnt decide to come into the market with the ps3 at like $600-$700 (isnt that what they started at?). also, they dont have nearly as many commercials advertising their system like Microsoft is doing (such as putting the 360 symbol after an ad for a game that is for both systems, and not include the fact that it is indeed for both of them)

Microsoft... i dont know what to say about em. they had a couple good games, and all the Halo hype is mainly what made them so damn successful in the gaming industry. I still dont understand why. Sure it was fun to play, but i beat it in like 12hrs. Same with Gears of War. and, neither made you think. If i recall, i think gears did a little, but not much. all they were was shoot this, watch this cutscene, shoot that, push this button, blah blah blah.

Also, if you watched E3, Sony is soon going to mop the floor with Nintendo with their new motion controller in development. you know how the Wii's is all shaky, crappy, and inaccurate? well, Sony has perfected it. so, add the variety of Wii-like games to the superior graphics of a PS3, and Nintendo is going to be packing their bags in no time, with Microsofts game dept not very far behind.

If Microsoft died out, we wouldn't have some of our computers now, so that's out.

The Wii sometimes is stupid with the motion detection like the power glove, but with 2 hands.

Sony sometimes reminds me of Atari, with its 3 numbered systems, the great games, and famous video game names, like Gran Turismo, Jak and Daxter, and Uncharted.

I'm saying Nintendo will die first, then it's uncertain about the other 2.

i think that microsoft will die out first with their terrible games. but i am not sure which of the last two will die out next.

i think Microsoft video games will die off first i play very few games for there videogame systems.

My opinion is just like DarkHyren, I mean isn't sony's PSX(PS1), PS2, PS3 DualShock is easier than nintento's gamecube controller, or Wii remote.

To be honest if I play a complex game on PSX, I figure out EVERY move in 15 minutes(just like in Naruto: Ultimate Ninja, so easy to fight), but on Wii, I take more than 6 hours to learn every move(just like in Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2, I still haven't master all of its move yet, by the way, its story only take 2 hours to finish).
