To quote Crystal: "For every 3 beads you give away, you'll get your choice of a number of skills: things that help you sleep better, hold your bladder longer, things like that." To "give away" these beads, go to Club Xizzle (found later in the game), walk to the door and press A. Select "Buy Xizzles", and pick a Xizzle. This is how your answer to this question will affect your Xizzles:

Slave to the Grind :

Play "Squeegee Clean"

Head to the Simoleon sign § and play Squeegee Clean.

Befriend Kris Thistle (Relationship 30)
Give Kris Your Squeegee and Bucket

Talk to Kris Thistle. Press right on the control pad until you get to "FRIENDLY STUFF", press A, then press A on "Give a Gift". Give her the Squeegee n' Bucket. Then, befriend her to Relationship 30. When your relationship is high enough, a new option will appear, a green exclamation mark on a silver background. Press A on it.

Get Cleaned Up :

Take a Shower
Take a Nap
Eat Something from the Vending Machine

Head to the elevator, and go to the Skyline Penthouse. There will be a shower, toilet and sofa already in the penthouse. Take a shower. Sleep on the sofa. Head to the elevator again, and go down to the Tower Lobby. Go to the vending machine on the left side of the room and eat or drink something. It's free right now, so eat or drink as much as you need. Talk to Kris Thistle. Ask her "What's Up?".

Help Kris Thistle :

Move the Bed to the Suite
Repair the Television
Repair TWO Drinking Fountains

Use the elevator to get to the Law Offices. Go to the bed located on the left side of the room and put it in your pocket. Go to the TV and repair it. If it electrocutes you, you will pass out, so try it again until it's fixed. Now go to the Skyline Penthouse and place the bed somewhere. After you place the bed, go to the elevator, go to Waters' Gym, and on the left side of the room, there will be a broken drinking fountain. It won't appear to be broken, but it is.

Repair it. Go to the Tower Lobby. There will be another broken drinking fountain, this time on the right side of the room. Repair it. Talk to Kris Thistle. Ask her "What's Up?".

Get the Key :

Earn One Mechanical Skill Point
Pick the Lock to Lily Gates' Office
Find the Key

Go to the Law Offices. In the same place with the TV you repaired, there will be a wooden work surface. Go to it, and "Study Mechanical" until you gain a Mechanical skill point.

Lily Gates' office is on the same floor. Go find the door and pick the lock. Before you get the key, go get all your needs up (eat, shower, sleep, etc.). Now get the key. The key is in her desk, next to the blue chair.

Get out of Jail :

Befriend Detective Dan (Rel 30)
Answer Detective Dan's Questions

Talk to Det. Dan D. Mann to unlock this goal. Contrary to the order the goals are put in, you have to answer the questions before befriending him. This is how the questions have to be answered:

First question : The answer doesn't matter.
Second question : The janitor told me I could stay!
Third question : Real food! I was tired of eating junk.
Fourth question : No. He is finding legal ways to make people miserable.
Fifth question : The answer doesn't matter.

After you answer all five of his questions and befriend him to Relationship 30, he will put you on probation. You can now explore Urbania.

Find a Place to Live :

Play the Hoopz Minigame
Earn §150 for Rent and Taxes
Buy a House

Go to the roof of the jail and play Hoopz. Hoopz is open from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Play Hoopz each day until you have at least §150. Once you leave the jail and hit the street, press Select, and look at your World Map. It will show all the roads and buildings. The picture below shows the two houses you can buy in Urbania: the Large Brownstone, and the Small Brownstone.

The Small Brownstone costs §150, and the Large Brownstone costs §200. Buy one of them. Talk to Detective Dan.

Goals 2

Club Xizzle :

Take Crystal out on the Town

Doing this goal before you do the other four makes doing the other four easier.

Talk to Lottie Cash to unlock this goal. Lottie can sometimes be found outside the hospital, or in the Pizza Bar near the Brownstones. Times vary.

Talk to Crystal. Crystal can be found near one of the entrances to the Jail. Times vary. Make sure it's between 10:00 AM and about 7:00 PM when you pick her up to go out on the town. Don't talk to anybody else while Crystal's with you, and don't sleep. Make sure all your needs are up before you do this. Take her to the pizza bar. Talk to her.

New Goal Unlocked :

Get a Bite to Eat

You can buy her the piece of pizza, the whole pizza or the corndog. Give her whatever food you bought her, and talk to her.

Go back up the hill to the guy sitting on the ground, Drifter Woods. Buy something and give it to her. And now you can go to Club Xizzle.

The password is "Bucket". It seems you can capitalize it however you want and it will still work.

Work Study :

Befriend Maximillian Moore (Rel 30)

Talk to Sue Pirnova to unlock this goal. Sue can be found at the university around 6:00 AM, or at Club Xizzle between 6:00 PM and 12:00 AM (Midnight).

Maximillian Moore can be found at Club Xizzle between 12:00 PM (Noon) and 6:00 PM. Befriend him and talk to him ("What's up?").

Give the Artemisia Plant to Max
Write a Doctoral Thesis

Near the entrance to Club Xizzle, there will be a very strange-looking plant on the ground.

Put it in your pocket and bring it to Maximillian. Make sure you do it in under one game hour. Go to the Miniopolis Chronicle to write your thesis.

Miniopolis Chronical is open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Keep trying to "Write Thesis" until you successfully write one. Give the thesis to Maximillian.

Gotta Finish the Riff :

Befriend "Cannonball" Coleman (Rel 30)
Give a Saxophone Reed to "Cannonball" Coleman

Talk to Phoebe Twiddle to unlock this goal. Phoebe can be found at Club Xizzle between 12:00 AM (Midnight) and 6:00 AM.

"Cannonball" Coleman can be found at Club Xizzle between 12:00 PM (Noon) and 6:00 PM. Buy a Bamboo Saxophone Reed at the thrift shop. Find Mr. Coleman. Befriend him and talk to him ("What's up?"). Give him the Bamboo Saxophone Reed.

Earn Creativity 1
Finish "Cannonball's" Song

You can get a Creativity skill point by studying the graffiti on the dumpster by Club Xizzle, or studying Creativity at the university. Earn a Creativity skill point and talk to "Cannonball" Coleman ("What's Up?"). Here is how his song is supposed to go:

Answer to the first line : ...up to old tricks?
Answer to the second line : ...so right?
Answer to the third line : ...and chill as a lake?
Answer to the fourth line : ...saxophone reed?

Race for Glory :

Give Dusty §500 for Renovations
Talk to Ewan Watahmee

Talk to Dusty Hogg to unlock this goal. Dusty can be found at Club Xizzle between 6:00 PM and 12:00 AM (Midnight).

Pay the track fee to Dusty. Ewan Watahmee can be found at Club Xizzle between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM (Noon). Talk to Ewan ("What's up?").

New Goal Unlocked :

Bring Ewan Lunch for 3 Days (12-1 PM)

Head to the pizza bar and buy three items (you can go cheap and buy three soda's if you want to). Go to the Chopper Garage every day between 12:00 PM (Noon) and 1:00 PM and give him one of the sodas or food items you bought. After you've given Ewan lunch for three days, talk to Dusty.

Salesmanship :

Attend an Auction between 5 PM and 7 PM
Acquire the Shrunken Head
Give the Shrunken Head to Berkeley

Talk to Berkeley Clodd to unlock this goal. Berkeley can be found at Club Xizzle between 12:00 AM (Midnight) and 6:00 AM.

I recommend making sure you have at least §300 before attending the auction. The Simoleons he gives you usually aren't enough. Attend the auction and buy the Shrunken Heads. Give the Shrunken Heads to Berkeley.

Road to the Sim Quarter :

Make 3 Friends
Raise §500 for the Cause
Earn 2 Promotions in LOCAL jobs

Talk to Gramma Hattie to unlock this goal. Hattie can usually be found wandering around the little Park in the center of Urbania, outside the fence.

Befriend three people to Relationship 50. When you have §500, give the cash to Gramma Hattie. When earning two promotions, you can get one promotion each on two jobs, or get two promotions for one job. For example, by this time, you've unlocked the jobs "Doctor Max Stat!" and "Motocross Mayhem". You can get one promotion on Doctor Max Stat! and one promotion on Motocross Mayhem, and that counts as the two promotions in local jobs. Or, you can get two promotions on Doctor Max Stat!, and that also counts as the two promotions in local jobs. Once you do all that, if you're inside a building, go outside. Now you can explore the Sim Quarter.

Goals 3

Mission for the Mann :

Play Moogoo Monkey

Talk to Det. Dan D. Mann to unlock this goal. Dan can be found outside or inside the jail at various times each day. He does not go to Club Xizzle.

Go to Salty's Riverboat.

Go inside the boat, and play Moogoo Monkey. Moogoo Monkey is open from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM.

New Goal Unlocked :

Follow the Directions on the Bulletin Board

You do not have to read the bulletin board to complete this goal, but if you would like to read it, it's inside Miniopolis Chronical. Search the shrubbery outside the Epoch Museum.

Afterward, go to the Cemetery.

After walking down the steps into the Cemetery, keep walking in the same direction. After passing by four tombstones, make a downward left turn, and keep walking. There will be four more tombstones. Pass the first three, and check the fourth. Give the Scrap of Paper to Berkeley Clodd.

Give the "Mysterious Briefcase" to Det. Dan

Give the briefcase to Dan.

Batten Down the Hatches :

Earn Creativity 5
Convince Ewan to Fix the Attraction (Rel 50)

Talk to Lily Gates to unlock this goal. Lily can be found at Club Xizzle between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM (Noon).

Earn five Creativity skill points. The easiest (though expensive) way to do this is to take classes at the University. Befriend Ewan Watahmee to Relationship 50. Talk to Ewan (What's Up?").

New Goal Unlocked :

Challenge and Beat Dusty Hogg (6-7 PM)

Talk to Dusty. Go to the Chopper Garage between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM and play Motocross Mayhem to challenge Dusty. After you beat him, talk to him. He'll give you his old bike. You can repaint it by walking up to it, pressing A and choosing Repaint. You can paint it red, blue, green, or black.

New Goal Unlocked :

Convince Polly to Visit the Attraction (Rel 50)

Polly Nomial can be found at Club Xizzle between 6:00 PM and 12:00 AM (Midnight) or at the University as soon as it opens at 6:00 AM. Befriend Polly to Relationship 50. Talk to Lily Gates.

None Shall Pass :

Earn Body 5 OR Charisma 5
Meet at the Cemetery between 11PM and 12AM
Guard the Cemetery for 4 Hours

Talk to Gramma Hattie to unlock this goal.

Earn 5 Body or 5 Charisma skill points. Get Body skill points by working out on a Free Weight Set. You can use ones you find in places such as the jail or on the roof of the jail, or you can buy one. Get Charisma skill points by performing a Soliloquy in a mirror. You can use the one in the Thrift Shop, or you can buy one. Go to the Cemetery between 11:00 PM and Midnight. Talk to Gramma Hattie. Daddy B. will show up. After he leaves, he will send someone else to talk to you, depending on whether you chose Body 5 or Charisma 5.

Body 5 :

He will send Darius. Here's how the conversation must go:

You : Sorry, but I'm not supposed to let anyone through.
Darius : Kid, you don't want to be messing with me. I'm so strong I can turn water into steam with one punch!
You : I'm so strong I can deflect sunlight with my breath!
Darius : Say what? Dang! But check this out... I'm so tough people call me the D-Bomb!
You : And I'm so tough people call me "(Whatever your rep group title is, middle option)"!
Darius : Serious? Man... well check this out. I'm so crazy I wore a red track suit to a bullfight!
You : And I'm so crazy Detective Dan kicked me out of jail!

Charisma 5 :

He will send Lily Gates. Here's how the conversation must go:

Lily : (Your name), have I heard correctly that you have been hired by Gramma Hattie to guard the entrance to this graveyard?
You : Yes! Abandon all hope, ye who enter here!
Lily : I see... Unfortunately if that's true, you are breaking the law. Miniopolis Business Code 23.48a states that all independent security agents must have a business license. Do you have such a license?
You : But code 23.48b makes exceptions for one-time jobs.
Lily : It does? I must have missed that. Shoot. Ah! But you ARE breaking Civil Code 56.21c which states that PUBLIC lands should be accessible to all citizens at all times.
You : But this graveyard is PRIVATELY owned by the people buried there.
Lily : It is? Goodness, I had no idea that ghosts had so much sway. But surely you are aware of Civil Code 15.67a which states that security guards must wear a uniform at all times.
You : But I AM wearing a uniform. This is the new style.

Stand at the bottom of the steps. Whatever rep group he says not to let in, don't let anyone from that group in. Everyone else, let them in.

High Society :

Find a Curator
Purchase one Museum Exhibit

Talk to Luthor L. Bigbucks to unlock this goal. Luthor can be found at Club Xizzle between 12:00 PM (Noon) and 6:00 PM.

Talk to Roxanna Moxie. She knows a curator. Roxie can be found at Club Xizzle between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM (Noon). Go to the Epoch Museum and buy at least one exhibit.

After you buy the exhibit and talk to Luthor, you will get a check once every while. Whatever you buy, take one 0 off and that's how big of a check you will get. If you buy everything in the museum (which rounds up to §10,000), the check will be §1,000.

Bring Roxie §300. Talk to Luthor.

The Ballad of Pepper Pete :

Find a Sailor's Coat
Find a Fake Beard
Find a Sailor's Cap
Give Costume Items to Mambo Loa

Talk to Mambo Loa to unlock this goal. Mambo can be found at the Fortune Teller's Shop at various times each day. She does not go to Club Xizzle.

Go to the Thrift Shop. Search the rack on the right side of the room.

After earning §300, talk to Pritchard Locksley, and buy the white beard from him. Pritchard can be found at Club Xizzle between 6:00 PM and 12:00 AM (Midnight). Make sure you have §150 and go to Café Multiplaya.

Go to one of the computers, Go Shopping Online and buy the Naval Officer's Cap. Wait for it to arrive in the mail. When you've got all the costume items, talk to Mambo.

After being thrown into the Bayou, a man named Crawdad Clem will talk to you. If you answer his questions wrong, he will be angry with you.

Clem : You can answer me some questions, yeah? Let's see... What's your favorite food?
You : Garlic Ice Cream.
Clem : Garlic ice cream? Eyuck! That's disgusting, but it ain't a vampire's dish. So tell me this: What do you like to do on a nice sunny day?
You : Sun bathe on the beach.
Clem : Oh yeah? Me too. All right then: If you could have one eccentric pet, what would it be?
You : A Gnat.

Find the light and the Dark Tree. If a giant man-eating plant tries to get you, press A and B and the D-Pad buttons repeatedly until it lets go.

Once inside the Dark Tree, find Lloyd and talk to him. Talk to Bayou Boo.

Fiddle with the Red Man :

Meet at the Hickory Stump at Midnight

Go to the tree stumps near the Dark Tree around midnight. Talk to the Red Man.

Gain Popularity 40

Befriend people until you get to Popularity 40. To see how popular you are, pause and press L or R until you get to the screen with your friendship status and rep. Your popularity percentage is up at the top and a little to the right. The best way to get popular is to go to Club Xizzle. There's always people there. The people in the place change every 6 hours. You could do one of two things to make this easier. One is to buy a place in Glasstown. In Glasstown, there's a Club Xizzle entrance near the available places to live.

The other is quite strange, but also quite helpful. There is a trashcan right outside the Xizzle entrance in Glasstown.

If you befriend Phoebe Twiddle to Relationship 100, you can move furniture in there and live in that trashcan. You'll still own whatever place you live in at the moment, though, so you'll still have to go back and pay rent. I would recommend moving a shower, toilet, table, microwave, espresso machine, TV, and a sofa into the trashcan. (The table is for the microwave and the espresso machine.) If you invite Crystal to your house and she likes it, she will give you a Magic Lamp. Inside the Magic Lamp is a toilet and a bed. If you get the Magic Lamp and keep it in your pocket, you won't have to move a toilet into the trashcan. Whatever security system you have in your home, it will affect the trashcan (and any other places you unlock by befriending people; there are a few more). Gain popularity 40. Talk to Gordie.

Go to the side of Glasstown where Glasstown and Sim Quarter meet.

Go down the stairs. Climb aboard the fanboat. Find the little island with the Dancing Nutrias on it. Grab a Nutria. Give the Nutria to Roxanna. Earn §5000 and give them to Roxanna. Talk to Misty Waters.

Befriend Sue Pirnova to Relationship 50 and talk to her. Go to the Cinema d'Urbania and decorate the stage with five decorative items such as potted plants.

Go to the Cinema d'Urbania between 11:00 AM and 3:00 AM. Talk to Theresa.

Travel to Paradise Island

Talk to the leader of your rep group to unlock this goal.

Using the fanboat, go to Paradise Island. Talk to Pritchard Locksley.

Check the bleprints on the table next to the entrance to the room. Give the Stack of Blueprints to Luthor.

Talk to Crawdad Clem to unlock this goal. Clem never leaves the Bayou unless invited to your house. Go into the mausoleum to find Boo, chained up near the entrance from the Cemetery. Talk to Boo.

Buy a Mix Whizzard or Mix Whizzard De-Lux and an oven. Place them. Use the mixer to mix two Chocolate and one Flour. Do this until you successfully make a Chocolate Decadence Mix. Bake the Chocolate Decadence Mix in the oven. Keep making Chocolate Decadence Mixes and baking them until you successfully make a Chocolate Decadence. The more Cooking skill points you have, the more likely it is for baked goods to turn out right. Give the Chocolate Decadence to Boo.

Complete the first two goals of Goals 5, go to the Carnival, approach Heidi Shadows (the ninja), then talk to Harlan King to unlock this goal.
