It's been more than 2 years since we've seen an update to the RGR Plugin but I'm happy to tell you all that we have more RGR Plugin updates lined up! And we already have an update ready.

The Vizzed RGR Plugin 2.11 has a ton of nice updates which I'll go over briefly below and in more detail further below. This update is an optional update but is required to do netplay (future updates may be required).

Click Here to Download RGR Plugin 2.11
(Click Here for a Mirror Download)
(Click Here for a Different Mirror Download)

If the plugin tells you you're missing VC++ Runtime, you'll need to install that first. You can download it here:
http://www.vizzed.co/vcredist_x86/vcredist_x86.exe

You may need to uninstall previous version if you're having troubles installing this new version.

Attention Windows 8 Users, the plugin will not work if you use Internet Explorer from the Metro App screen. You must either launch Internet Explorer from the desktop, use a different internet browser or launch the site using the Vizzed RGR Plugin App icon.

For Dreamcast Games you'll need a fast computer, a controller plugged in and you'll need to download and install DirectX 9 Runtime here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

If you're having troubles with this version then you can try the 2.1 version:
http://www.vizzed.co/VizzedRgrPlugin-2.1.msi
(it's basically the same except you can save with Dreamcast games)

Included Updates
-Better Game Playability and Compatibility for Mednafen Games
-Access to many new options and features for Mednafen games
-Cheat Code Support for Mednafen Games
-Emulator Movies (great for TAS runs)
-Playstation Netplay (supports 2+ players)
-Ability to Change Controllers During Netplay
-Dreamcast Support (greatest system ever)
-Many Other Various Improvements and Additions

Please Help Us Fund More Updates
I've already invested $1600 into these updates and my total budget before these updates was $2500 which leaves me with around $900 left in my budget. That's only enough to get 1 or 2 (depending on feature) more features that you all requested in this thread so please consider donating so that we can get all of the features added that you all requested and even more! Remember, there are lots of benefits to donating which includes access to more systems, features and games. Go here to donate:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/donations.php

If you don't have money to donate but have games that you no longer use that you'd be willing to donate to the site that I could resell for profit to put toward the site, go here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=58552

Detailed List of Updates

Better Game Playability and Compatibility for Mednafen Games
More games will be playable in Mednafen and more games will have better playability. Mednafen required systems include: Atari Lynx, Neo Geo Pocket (and color), WonderSwan (and color), Virtual Boy, Turbo Grafx, Turby Grafx CD, SueprGrafx, PC-FX, Game Gear, Master System and Playstation. Optional systems include: GB, GBC, GBA, NES, SNES and Genesis.

Access to Many New Options and Features for Mednafen Games
You'll now have access to so many more features and options while playing games with the Mednafen emulator. Some of these options include:
Spacebar = Speeds up the game
ALT + Spacebar = Slows down the game
Backspace = Lets you rewind the game (but you must enable it first by pressing CTRL+Backspace)
CTRL+F12 = Lets you enter cheat codes (make sure to enable cheats first by pressing F12)
CTRL+Page Up = Lets you change the input device (switch to mouse if game supports mouse)
CTRL+# = Lets you choose a different save slot to save to (where # would be 0-9)
ALT+# = Lets you remove graphics layers (where # would be 1-9)
SHIFT+F3 = Lets you start and stop an emulator movie (CTRL + F3 lets you watch it)
F1 = Shows all of the available options

Cheat Code Support for Mednafen Games
You can now insert Game Genie, Game Shark and Action Replay codes. You type them in and insert them into your game and can disable them whenever you want. You can load any codes that you've already entered in at any time. This feature is a little confusing to use and we're still trying to understand how it works exactly.

Emulator Movies
You can now create emulator movies! The awesome thing about an emulator movie is that you can record your gameplay without putting very much strain on your computer. Also, if you choose to use the rewind feature a lot to undo your mistakes, the rewind doesn't get recorded so therefore your emulator movie will not show your mistakes, it'll appear as if you played flawless. Once you've created an emulator movie, use the emulators built in video recording to record the emulator movie and upload the movie as a TAS run (aka Tool Assisted Run). You currently can only save 1 emulator movie per a game but if enough users are interested in this feature and want the ability to save up to 10 per a game, let me know.

Playstation Netplay
You can now play Playstation games with users on vizzed! Now you need to have the Playstation item (costs 50,000 Viz) to access and create Playstation netplay sessions but anyone can join an already created Playstation session! Playstation netplay supports 2-5 players. Some Playstation games require a powerful computer when in a netplay session.

Ability to Change Controllers During Netplay
When you're the session creator (or a staff member), you'll have access to a few extra commands at the bottom right corner of the play window while in a netplay session. You can swap a player's controller with another player which is very convenient, especially if users entered in the wrong order or if a user leaves suddenly. You also have access to a few other commands such as the ability to ping the netplay server.

Dreamcast Support
Probably the number 1 requested feature over the past 2 years. Dreamcast Support has finally been added to the RGR Plugin! These games require a powerful computer and currently lack features such as screenshot taking but it does support full screen (press ALT+Enter a few times) and also saving (but not save states, you save to the "internal memory"). We also haven't added many games yet but I'll work on getting as many games added as I can as soon as I can. Only users with the Beta Test Ticket item (costs 10,000 Viz) can access Dreamcast games currently but they'll be available to everyone soon enough. You can find a list of all the games we currently have here:
https://www.vizzed.com/playonlinegames/index.php?system=dc

Many Other Various Improvements and Additions
There are a ton of other little fixes here and there and a too many little things worth mentioning them all. However, if you want a detailed list of all the Mednafen related improvements and fixes, go here:
https://www.vizzed.com/vizzedboard/retro/VizzedRGRPlugin/Mednafen%20Changelog%20Since%200.9.27.txt

Thank You tom760
I'd like to give a huge thanks to tom760 for his willingness to continue working on the RGR Plugin. He took a break from it for over 2 years but now he's back in action! So be sure to give him praise via his profile or PM here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/profile.php?id=33339

You possibly should include in your post that the Plugin needs to be uninstalled before installing the new version. I'm using windows 8.1 and got this:

However, it installed successfully after I uninstalled the old version then installed the new one.

And all the new hotkeys, pretty cool man.

And great to see that Tom760 is back and working.

this is the first update since I signed up which is pretty crazy.

Barathemos : That'll depend on how long it takes the staff to test out the games. By the time we're done, we'll have added 500+ games and since the games are large, it'll probably take the staff a while to test them all. It could be 3-6 months.

Are you able to change the hotkeys? I'd love to be able to use speed up or take screenshots with my controller. I'm not sure if this would be a hard thing for tom to change if needed.
EDIT: Are you going to hire more game testers? I'd love to test some of the new DC games. =
There are only two people who's job is to test games so it might take a while unless some others help too..

Barathemos : Dreamcast games currently require a PC controller.

earthwarrior : I don't think you can assign them to your controller. You could always use something like Xpadder to do that though.

Yeah I'll probably put up a staff application later this month.

Davideo7 : These new updates will be EPIC!

That is strange that tRIUNE got that error message when trying to install the update. I have Windows 8.1 as well but the installation process worked out fine for me and I did not have to uninstall the older version first.

Also tried out the Netplay option and created a room by myself. Everything loaded up fine, graphics and sound were in sync. The only thing I noticed was a very slight delay when using a PC controller. I do not think that it is enough to screw anything up ( the delay may be a half second or less ) but it is noticeable. Just thought that I would mention it.

I am very glad to see the updates in motion and I will definitely consider donating very soon..

Davideo7 : It might be because my laptop didn't initially have MSVCP120.dll and I recently installed that dll from the Microsoft Visual C++ run time library. (I dunno)

kirbmanboggle : It would be far to expensive to do that.

Kruzer : Yeah I haven't been this excited about the Retro Game Room in a long time.

tRIUNE : Hopefully not many other users experience that problem. Btw, you're getting pretty close to 10,000 posts.

HUZZAH! Sonic Shuffle is one of the first games on the roster! That's my childhood, that is. Before I even knew it was a rip off from Mario Party lol. Gonna have to buy that Beta Ticket with the Viz I got from the donation

Also, this will actually be my first install of the Plug-in on this laptop. If I still have all the files copied from my old computer, should I have a problem accessing games that I had from before? Or will save files (in game/state) not transfer successfully from machine to machine?

danielbelitch : You should be able to transfer the files with no problem if you know what to copy and where to copy them.

Sonic Shuffle is great and I actually like the card system more than a dice system, it adds a little extra bit of strategy.

Sorry for sandwich post, but out of curiosity, if we start the Plugin without a pc controller, should that affect it in a negative way? Rom itself loaded in a minute, but screen is now black (2nd time starting it up) and first time starting it made my computer freeze. Don't have the controller with me at the moment, just wanted to see how it looked.

Oh, this can't be better. Thanks David and Tom. I really like the movie feature included with this new version of the plug-in.  Well then, time to get used of the different commands when I'll get some time to spend on this and eventually I'll start some exclusive playthroughs and abridged series
