I have been reading This article about how much sleep a person needs on Yahoo earlier today and this begs the question, how much time do you normally sleep?

In that image in that link, anything in the blue is Average, anything in the Sky Blue is Near Average (Above and Below), and anything in the Yellow or Orange is Above or Below Average.

As for me, I would be Near Average in both above and below, the reason why is that on the days I work, I only manage to get like 6 hours of sleep, but it does cancel out with my 3 days off with 10 hours, so in reality, I do fit into the
Average category.

What about you, how average is your sleep?

No joke, I sleep, like, 3 hours a night... I don't really like sleep, because I'd rather be doing other things. About once a year or so, I might sleep for 12 hours, but every other day, 3-4 hours.

I usually will get around the average sleep time, although it's usually towards the lower end, and on some occasions, I'll get less than what I should. So normally, it's around 6.5-7.5 hours of sleep per night for me. Rarely less, rarely more.

Hm, good question. Considering I like to pretend I'm another video game character for about an hour before I sleep, (yes, I am weird like that) it might be a little low. 8:00 + that 1 hour = 9:00pm. 9:00pm to 7:00am on the weekdays. 12 hours... I sleep too much (I also feel tired when I wake up!). There are exceptions, of course, and if I had the choice, I would sleep at 11 and wake up at 6 or 5 am. So... yea. I am probably different from about the majority of the people here.

After years of falling into the below average (four to six hours a night) range, I finally fall into the average category as of this past month. It feels good to be average! I mean...uh...
But yeah, I usually get seven to nine hours (almost always eight though) of sleep each night/day. From around five or six AM until two PM.

Also I've watched myself over the past few years and determined that I actually need nine hours of sleep a night. This conclusion is based on the fact that anytime I let myself sleep until I simply wake up naturally (and feel wide awake and refreshed), I always wake up after nine full hours of sleep, without fail.

On average, 3-5. I hope to waste less time during the day and grab a little more.

I really feel like I should get into some good sleeping habits.
My sleep pattern has been really crazy this past month.

It varies, but I usually get about 3 - 4 hours on work days. Non work days I get more, but not a lot more.
Generally about 5 - 6 hours
Although, at least once a month, sometimes twice, I have a night where I sleep a solid 9 hours or so.

I'm starting to get a lot more sleep now than I used to. I used to talk a lot at night and wouldn't get to sleep until 2 or 3 am but now I usually go to bed before midnight and on school days I get about 7 to 8 hours of sleep while on days where there's no school I can get up to 10 hours of sleep.

I usually sleep 8 to 10 hours every day... But on some rare days, I get only 6 or 7 hours... But, I stay up late, then get up semi-early. (So it feels like I sleep less.)

I usually sleep around 8-9 hours.
But on weekends I swear I sleep 12 hours. No joke.
I sleep half of each day away.
How productive.
I obviously fit into "Above Average".

I think I've seen this thread somewhere before...although I could be mistaken, but I swear I've answered a thread like this in the past.

But anyways, I try to keep my average of sleep per day around 8 hours. If I sleep less than that one night, I'll try to make up some sleep for it the next night. I don't think it really makes that much of a difference in my opinion, but I try to do that just to make sure.

Lately I've been getting about 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night, maybe 9 on certain weekends. I stay up pretty late on most nights, and I don't go to bed until about 2 or 3 even 3 in the morning. I'm just a natural night owl. It's a habit I'm trying to break out of, but with little success. Little by little though, I am starting to go to bed at midnight and 1:00 am instead. I can already tell that once summer comes around, my sleep schedule is going to be way out of whack....

I usually aim at 7.5-8 hours but this winter it's been pretty hard to achieve that. I've been living in a room with no central heating (it's THAT expensive) because the main renter wants to save. In the early winter, even with extra blankets I haven't slept so well because of the cold. And now, I have problems sleeping too because I'm too hot. Hopefully that fan I found will help me.

Sadly, I'm in the 'far below average' class. On my best nights I might get 4 hours of sleep before I have to get up. On my worst nights I won't sleep at all, whether because of chronic insomnia, being in pain, or being unable to breathe (not just as in shortness of breath, but as in I will randomly stop breathing EVEN WHILE AWAKE) unless I sit straight up. Which, if anyone here has ever had to do that, will know is not really the most comfortable sleeping position in the world if you can sleep at ALL.

It's not for lack of trying though, believe me. Even if I go to bed long before midnight, I'll lay and stare at the ceiling for hours before I manage to get my brain to go quiet enough to doze off, and this is with me taking melatonin to help me sleep! Oddly enough, it seems I sleep the most and the best on the nights that  I have consumed caffeine. Then I can sleep for some unknown reason. I just can't drink caffeinated things often because I am sensitive to it. I don't know if drinking it wears me out enough from being jittery that I am exhausted or what.

I know it's not good for me to get so little sleep, but I honestly can't help it. I've been this way since I was 12-13 years old, and it has never let up. It's annoying, but there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it save wear myself out constantly in the vague hope that I'll be able to go to sleep if I get exhausted enough. It generally doesn't work. :/

I consider myself a average level sleeper.  I usually sleep from about 6-8 hours depending on when I have to get up.  On weekends or during the summer, I would consider myself an above average sleeper.

Over the last couple of days I have been sleeping a lot less thanks to the tdv. Instead of going to sleep at 11 like I have been for the last couple of weeks, I had need starting to go to sleep at my normal time which is like 1 to 2 also I'm getting about 4 to 5 hours of sleep on days that I have school.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
