Being someone who has spent a large amount of time netplaying, I would love to have snes tweaked so that its available to all people, instead of it working for about half the people.

Also, I would direct attention to n64 netplay, as it semi worked for over a year I believe, but suddenly began desyncing and crashing a greater amount of time leading it to becoming nearly unplayable.

Any and all emulator updates and netplay tweaks/additions would be awesome. It would be great to be able to netplay something like metal slug or time crisis. And as far as n46 goes, unless your playing Zelda/starwars/banjo tooie, your not even getting the n64 experience playing solo. I mean really, who wants to play Mario party or Mario kart by them selves? It would also be cool to have 2 rgr windows open simultaneously.

EX Palen : what do you mean "burnt"? I'm not frying my computer trying to run PCSX2 am I? I say trying because I'm getting like.... 6 frames per second. Cant expect much out of a Toshiba satellite with an AMD C-50 duel core at 1.0 Ghz

Davideo7 : I'm excited for the possible updates to the emulator and I really wish I had the money to help donate too but if I did, I'd definitely throw in a nice chunk of change. Here's what I voted for and why:

1) Update Mednafen - In the past, I've run into several instances where Mednafen will freeze or skip, especially when attempting to participate in a tournament designed for video recording. I'd love to see compatibility issues resolved and some amazing sounding updates will really shine.

2) MAME/MESS Netplay - I'd like to see some compatibility with the N64 fixed. I wasn't able to connect, using netplay, with my girlfriend in the same room on the same network. I don't know if this part would somehow improve it, but that's my goal. Mario Party 3 anyone?

3) Add DOS Games - I'm a big fan of the PC and any games, even in DOS that are added to the Plugin, will really make this community shine. There's many retro pc gamers out there and by integrating pc games, we could get many more players and great games. This is a win for everyone!

4) Add the Dreamcast - I have to vote for this. Everyone looks like they've long awaited for this... It's time to unleash the big guns and show the world the power of the RGR Plugin!

5) Other - This is my most important request (Takes priority over everything else I voted for). Please please please add support for full screen on Windows 8 and newer PC for the RGR. I'm annoyed by the lack of DirectX compatibility for DirectDraw on Windows 8 PCs. I am forced to play in a little box on a 1920x1200 resolution on every game in the RGR Plugin and can't adjust the size of any game whatsoever. I've done Alt+Enter and even tried to force the resolution but it's never larger. Specifically, the SNES (Which I play the most), pressing ESC and messing with Video results with the window cutting off a portion of the game so I can only see the top left corner of the literal game.

6) Other - Mobile/Android functionality for Vizzed/Chat Room/Arcade/RGR Plugin. I'd love to have the ability to play the RGR on the go and even connect to the chat room from my phone. RGR Plugin would require Touch Screen funtionality, because smart phones are touchscreen, but it would keep people on Vizzed and for longer amounts of time. Who wouldn't want to play the SNES, even while at work when you have down time? I'd prefer if there was a way to allow "Offline Mode" to play our games without connecting to the internet and I'd like a simple file storing system so we can delete games that take too much space.

7) Other - This is a website request. Ability to "Report Game". I noticed that very specific games like "Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars" is very inconsistent on the RGR Plugin. If you go to the menu or reach certain points in the game (Even by using PAL), the game doesn't work properly. I know for a fact, I downloaded the game and ran it using an offline emulator and there wasn't any problems with this game at all and without even using PAL. I also noticed that some games like one of the "Mario RPG" hacks is a duplicate of the main game, even tho there should be differences. Having the ability to report these games so a Staff (Probably Game Tester) can check this out, would help find resolutions to games that may have worked at first and somehow broke in the meantime. - Something simple please

Personally, I chose the MS-DOS games over the Dreamcast games for three reasons. 1) Quantity of games. There are plenty of games over two decades that could be added with the MS-DOS feature. Though there are some good games on the last SEGA system, there are only a couple hundred for it. 2) Computer power. MS-DOS games are not going to be computer intensive, as it is the basic building block for the Windows OS. PSX games work just fine on my computer and I'm sure Dreamcast games would too, but I don't think they would work for everybody. 3) Reach of users. The cost of Viz per MS-DOS game I imagine as being right around 5 Viz (the same price for Apple II games). At the time of this post 519,988 users would be able to play an MS-DOS game @ 5 Viz per game. I think that the Dreamcast would have its own exclusive item allowing access, much like the PSX, costing 50,000 Viz. If that were the case only 842 users would be able to purchase it at the time of this post.

Davideo7 : I honestly wanna see all of these. Most importantly, the netplay for MAME.

Hope it works out. :3

edit:
I forgot to mention that ZSNES really needs an update to fix the desync issues SNES has.

I'd like the ability to change the recording settings within Genesis games. It defaults to wide screen and looks poor quality when compressed and uploaded to youtube.

But honestly, highest on my list would be Netplay for MAME. That would just be amazing and has been the one thing I've wanted since Netplay was introduced on Vizzed....the only thing that would compare would be netplay for PsOne, but I know that's not happening anytime soon.

I don't know if this was mentioned already, but having the ability to save to more than one save state would be a useful update to the plugin (to avoid accidentally erase a save state and losing a lot of data).

Is there a deadline for this? I have a lot of ideas for the 'other' category which I've brainstormed and will put into words for a post (they are important which will be beneficial), but I need to know how much time I have to make the post before the updates go into effect.

Adding Dreamcast would be great, but there are others that are needed, as well. Like updating Project64 and switching VisualBoyAdvance with VBA-M which would make some games more stable to play and the latter would at least help with adding netplay for GBA games

One interesting feature would be the ability to take regular screenshots while in Time Trial mode. Whenever you take a screenshot in Time Trial mode, it puts it in your "submit high score" section and you can't use it as an actual screenshot. This function obviously isn't top priority, but it would be helpful if I was doing a high score run and suddenly decided I wanted a screenshot of something other than my high score.

tRIUNE :

All I can think of for now is to update mednafen for the PSX to allow
users to record gameplay without the use of external software, that
would be really convenient and I would be glad to invest into that

Davideo7 : There are several things that I would absolutely love. First off, I would really like to be able to use my pc game controller with the Mupen 64 emulator for nintendo 64. I want to play smash bros so badly, but I can't deal with having to use the Mupen64 and my keyboard.

Secondly, it would really be nice to brag about your highscores on mame games!

Dreamcast games would also be awesome!

One more thing, I've noticed a lot of games that absolutely not playable. Any way we could get those removed? It could free up some space, and help the site run faster.

Some improvements to N64 would be nice, such as gamepad support for mupen64+ and video recording for N64. Netplay improvements are also cool.

Highscores on MAME would be a great idea as the arcade videogames are specialized on highscores. It would be good to make highscore competitions with the original arcade games instead of its ports for the home consoles (NES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, etc.) because generally, they are better and more complete than the ports.
Dreamcast and DOS systems should be part od the RGR, though the Dreamcast games may be harder to play for most of people. Maybe, if there were DOS games, there should be Amiga games too.
I also think Sega Genesis needs a feature for more players like the Turbo Grafx.

I think adding DOS games would be the best option, but I also would support for Dreamcast, Amstrad and Spectrum games.

I hope that in the new version of the plugin the "Pause Button" (in MAME games) and the "RUN-STOP Key" (in C64 games) works.

Is it "technically" possible to include also the ScummVM games?

Davideo7 :

I was wondering if it is possible to add a save/load feature to the Playstation item so in case we are on for an hour and stuck in a spot we can save it so we don't have to find a save point that is no where to be found.  That way if someone gets too stressed on a part of a game or needs to sleep he can save the game at an exact point and turn off his computer.
