You can now earn more Viz and CP from submitting screenshots and from adding details to those screenshots. Before you only earned 0.2 CP and 20 Viz per a screenshot you submitted to the site which was incredibly low in my opinion (you would've had to submit 50 screenshots to earn 10 CP and 10 CP is suppose to be the equivalent of 1 hour worth of work), especially since users invest a good amount of time finding good screenshot opportunities. The amount of CP and Viz you can earn now is based on how many screenshots you've submitted to the same game and how many details you added to the screenshot.


Here's how much you earn from submissions:
0.3 CP / 30 Viz = for the first 10 screenshots submitted to a single game page
0.2 CP / 20 Viz = for the next 40 screenshots submitted to the same game page
0.1 CP / 10 Viz = for each additional screenshot after you've submitted 50 to the same game

This is a way to encourage users to try and add screenshots to a variety of games rather than putting all their focus on just a single game. You still get CP and Viz if you just keep adding screenshots to the same game (as long as each is unique) but you definitely get more if you focus on more games.


You earn additional CP and Viz for adding info to your screenshots:
+0.1 / +10 Viz = Adding a description
+0.1 / +10 Viz = Assigning a category
+0.1 / +10 Viz = Each character you tag in a screenshot (max of 0.3 CP / 30 Viz per screenshot)

I also want to encourage and reward users for filling out the details of their screenshots and by tagging the characters that appear in them. Before you got nothing for doing this so therefore users had no incentive to do this but now hopefully more users do this because it's important to me that the screenshots are organized. Also, you do earn CP and Viz for adding these details to screenshots you've already submitted.

Note: The CP and Viz earned from adding additional details to screenshots go toward the new 'Screenshot Details Added' action.


If you add details to a screenshot and later remove them, you'll lose CP and Viz from the removal. This is a way to eliminate the possibility of adding and removing details in order to earn unlimited CP and Viz. I've doubled the daily limit for Screenshot Submission.


With these new updates, it's possible to earn up to 0.8 CP and 80 Viz per a screenshot if you add a description, add a category and tag all of the characters that appear in it. Even if the screenshot doesn't have tagable characters, you can still earn up to 0.5 CP and 50 Viz per a screenshot (which doesn't include your multiplier) so hopefully this encourages more screenshot submissions to the site.

I'm not really a fan of the overall cp adjustments because that could negatively affect users who play through an entire game and take a lot of screenshots, but I feel the description improvements could give some more overall motivation for users to add info, so I am highly on board with that idea.

This is a good way to make your pocket bank. Kudos for coming up with this update. Even if I can't use it

Mega Mewtwo X : This update applies to RGR games as well. The RGR Plugin has a built in screenshot taker.

People who do full playthroughs of the game and take a lot of screenshots could eventually get to the point where they only get .1 per shot and as they take more for that game, then the total amount would per shot would begin to drop towards what the original one was.

If a user does a play through of a long game and finds enough opportunities to make a lot of shots, and does say 100, then...

Under the old rules, this user would get 20 CP and 2000 Viz.
Unser the new rules, this user would make I believe 16 CP and 1600 Viz.

Yes, users will be motivated to take screenshots of more games, but some, who play long games and take a lot, would also feel inclined to stop taking shots of a game before they finish it and either just play the game or move on to another game without finishing. See what I mean?

I really like this update, and I know I'm late on this, but adding screenshots is rewarding because the payout is really high for little difficulty. You can get Viz for doing what you're doing anyway!

Awesome now I can have more Viz by taking screenshots in a game. Well I guess I'm off to playing some games now. I'm trying to save up for the the V-Machine.

David, I still feel there is a large imbalance in the CP and Viz hand outs. For example, this post will probably get me something around the lines for 100 Viz and I don't know how many CP because eh.

Anyway, take reviews for example, they're something I've poured hard hours into. And what do I get when they're rated? 45 Viz and 4.5 CP, now the CP doesn't really feel like a problem to me. But the fact that I can spend half a minute posting and make almost three times the amount of Viz doesn't seem right to me.

zanderlex : But keep in mind that they get additional Viz/CP when they categorize the screenshot, add in a description and tag the characters in the screenshot. So lets say they do the things I mentioned above, they would make way more with the new rules compared to the old rules.

I've seen some users submit a ton of screenshots to a single game with most of them not being very unique. If users are submitted tons of screenshots that aren't unique from each other then they'll probably not have anything unique to say about each. And if the screenshots are crappy, then they'll probably not even bother categorizing it, giving it a description or tagging the characters because clearly they didn't want to put effort into earning Viz/CP if they took a lot of crappy screenshots.

Frodlex : So in other words, you think the Viz and CP payout for having your review rated should be higher? I'm willing to make adjustments to that but I can't go too high though since that's something that can be easily abused. 4.5 CP is a pretty good payout but the Viz payout of that could definitely be increased to something like 250 Viz or even 450 Viz.

Davideo7 : Yeah, but there are some other actions along the lines that are pretty low too I think, like featured reviews if I remember correctly were pretty low. Just a lot of over all imbalances in the pay out system.

Frodlex : Actually 'Featured Review' payout is really high. The base payout for having your review featured is 50 CP and 5000 Viz. I agree that some of the other actions need adjustments. Feel free to leave your feedback regarding those to my thread on the topic (I don't remember where it is exactly though).
