save crystals won't work

odd, i'm at the start of the game on the ship (just opened the first door and killed the bone throwing skeleton) and the white save crystal on the chest in that room is dimmed and i can't interact with it at all. i'm using the mupen64plus emulator (only one you can) and the crystal up on the deck by the 1st mast is dimmed and can't be interacted with either.

Fortunately that's not a bug in the hack. That happens when playing the game without creating a save file (castlevania note) at the beginning.

then i guess that was human error on my part. maybe i hit the B button by mistake or hit A on the wrong choice and skipped doing that.

this texture pack was well worth the wait, nice graphics overhaul. even the castle, which is shown from a fair distance on the title screen, looks much better now.
