Do you remember Populous on the Super Nintendo and have you ever played it? If you can say yes to either of these, you should know that Populous: The Beginning is a whole different game compared to the Populous predecessor. In Populous, you take control of a god to a settlement with the power to change the world and help grow your tribe making them grow in number and strength. In Populous: The Beginning you take the role of a Shaman who leads a Tribe against 3 opposing tribes. You control spells based on nature, command units with different abilities and engage in skillful strategic maneuvers. The PC version is played in a 3-D setting where the world is perfectly round and you need to cut trees down for wood to construct buildings.

The general purpose of this thread is to encourage strategy seeking gamers to visit, download and play the Populous: The Beginning PC game. We are an organization of fans and players who came together after EA disbanded their servers at the start of 2004. Since then, PopRe.net has been the top community for 10s of thousands of strategy gamers. Many of us enjoy the strategy and skill incorporated into the game. Other features of the game allow us to create maps, manage scripts, create new campaigns, change sounds, play with programs and plenty of other options.

If you're interested in something different, this retro game might be worth a look! Visit us here: http://www.popre.net/

I am the Owner and Founder of the Warlords Clan found here: http://www.popre.net/clans.php?id=870

My Warlords Clan is built around the general idea of expanding players' skill and experience within the Populous: The Beginning game. I have a growing website: http://revivepop.enjin.com/ built around the Revive POP Project a number of members of the community are working on. The project is my idea and I'm working toward trying to expand this game's influence to potential members of our community. Populous PC is a Retro Game you might find interesting. There's sometimes 20 to 70 people on daily depending on the time of day and hundreds of games are played each day. You can play multiple expansions or campaigns and learn many tricks. If you're interested, register/login.

Good luck!
