A Christian marriage is a very important thing in this day and age. It represents all that is respected and valued about the family in our society and is a symbol to other of how we should love our lives.

For a Christian marriage there are several passages of the bible which are important, the wedding where water is turned into wine, should act as a symbol that we will find peace in our time.

It is important that the decision is taken freely and that a marriage course is taken to understand the significance of the vows taken.

A test must be held with the priest to interview and interrogate the bride and groom respectively that they will lead Christian lives uphold the teachings of Christ.

Yes.  This is very important, since marriage between a man and a woman was ordained by God all the way back in Genesis.  It's not a human invention.  

Totts : Marriage is indeed a covenant--not a contract--before GOD to love and protect each other till the end of your life together. So many people treat it as nothing, and despise it, treating it like a contract. Contracts are made and remade every day. That is why that is the completely wrong way to look at it. I believe that you do need to understand what you are doing as you enter a marriage. You need to know what it means, why you are doing it, and what is required of you. What a marriage means: it is a promise before GOD and to each other--not a deal! Why you are getting married: If you are not getting married for the right reasons, you have no business doing it. You do not marry someone because they have a lot of money, or are very attractive. If someone asks you why you are getting married, here is what the answer should be: Because I love Him/Her, and am ready to love, protect, serve and guide them for the rest of our lives together, as long as GOD will have it. You cannot have flimsy reasons based on this or that about the person. Can't be looks...despite how our culture tries to fight this...appearances fade. Money will disappear. You need to be getting a marriage based on something that will not disappear. He/She has such a beautiful spirit. They love GOD, as much as and even more than I do, we really work well together. That is a good reason, and is the only kind of reason that will have any kind of meaning in the nitty-gritty of everyday life.
