Here is another review by yours trust i hope you enjoy it as unlike most other reviewers on the site i rank the anime honestly and from my own perspective, There is no point just reviewing things you like, Especially things that can be blurred by "nostalgia tinted glasses". So let's begin Synopsis What if you could see into the future ? What if you met someone who could do the same and also help you ? Glasslip takes you into that what if as you follow Touko Fukami and her group of friends . With the help of a special someone Touko tries to find the meaning to all of this and understand what it is she is seeing. Genre 5 Probably more of a slice of life than anything because besides the obvious supernatural element there is not too much going on in this story . There is a “big” focus on romance but it is poorly done and honestly quite obvious . The supernatural element is not even well done in my opinion . The thing this does best is bore you with its slow moving plot and characters that do not offer much at all . Story 2 What story ? Okay maybe a slight story , you are right away pushed into this knowledge of “future fragments” where the main character stares into shiny stuff and sees the future . You meet her group of friends and the new totally hot transfer student and that is basically it . That is the story . Nothing is ever explained to you about any of the plot holes , you are left out in the dark about everything and it does not help that the characters are so bad at talking to one another that you do not even know what the intention is . There are several attempts at pushing the story forward and they all ultimately lead no where . Characters 3 Have I brought up how bad these characters are yet , because that is something that is clear as day . They have no character development throughout the series , it seems like some of them are completely swept under the rug after their purpose is filled . There is nothing unique in any of these characters and they are more shallow and substance-less than any I have ever seen . It is nothing but cliché after cliché and absurdness between all of the individual characters . All of them ! Detail 6 Even this I have to score lower than I usually do . While the character designs in themselves are pretty and modern it does not go beyond that . There is no effort put into anything, and it is hard not to notice . Which is not only a huge disappoint in of itself but considering who the animation studio is it is even more of a let down . I cannot express how much I loathe the still frames they place throughout each episode . And it is not even just one to let you know when the first half of the episode is down , they are purely random and unattractive . They hold no purpose , no significance I do not understand why they are there at all . Why do I need to see a close up of a couple birds flying in the air ? What does that have to do with the story ? Sound 7 I think I am just so enraged by the product of the show that I barely noticed the opening and the ending . Which in hindsight is a good thing , it was decent . The only redeemable aspect of this from my perspective . I suppose the background music was good as well because I can not get the image of that still frame of seagulls with cawing in the background out of my head . Well placed background music , I will give them that. Addictiveness 3 I think after a certain amount of time it was just me being a masochist by continuing to watch this . It was painful , I regret picking it up and I regret not putting it down . Each episode I realized more and more how angry it made me to watch this . I guess I just had high expectations going in because if the company that made it but I hardly call that my fault . Over-All 3 I expected something quality and was met with sour disappointment . I have seen some bad anime but this one tops the charts . Maybe not THE worst one but it has definitely got a place in my top 5 . I can not find a reason to recommend this to anyone for any reason .
