Yet another review on an anime, And boy are these getting tough to write, I may have to look on writing game reviews soon, Just for the sake of not losing the will to watch anime. Either way i hope you enjoy this review.
SynopsisWhen Haru Yoshida refuses to go to school , straight A student Shizuku Mizutani is asked to bring him some school work to him . A request asked by a teacher is taken to heart by Haru and suddenly he thinks the two of them are friends . At face value Haru seems like nothing but a trouble maker but Shizuku quickly unveils how kind-hearted he truly is .
Genre 8Who would have guessed, another romantic comedy ! At times the romance is a bit generic in my opinion but at other times it is all its own . The comedy provided is at times very funny and plot driven while at other times it is subtle and just seems to lighten up a tense scene . This is by no means a tense anime though , it is silly , it is cute and it is actually pretty refreshing to watch .
Story 7There is nothing all the special about the story line if I am being honest . All the key ingredients to the plot are laid out fairly quickly into the series . Maybe a few bumps in the road here and there and that is pretty typical to keep things interesting . The key factor that really made this show for me is the characters , and with that being said I would like to move onto a new category .
Characters 10I feel I probably should have added this in sooner since I usually really enjoy the characters and you are with them the whole time , you are following these set characters throughout the whole experience . The nice thing about the two main characters , especially since this is a romantic comedy , is how unabashed they are . They are not typical , they are not average like most other romantic comedies make their characters . These two have no clue what they are doing and with their clashing personalities it makes this anime all the more unique to the others . The side characters even play a pretty decent roll in all of this as well , they are not just mindless characters used for plot purposes , they add to the story and they bring their own problems and purpose into it all .
Detail 9Also using the modern look that most anime is sporting , the thing that this anime brings to the table that I think is different is the use of colours , it is bright , not blinding . It adds a nice touch to everything and is pleasing to the eye . I also enjoyed how they did not make the characters these cardboard cut out generic people . By no means are they like extraordinarily unique but they are not what you typically image for main characters .
Sound 9
Another good note for this anime was the pleasant opening and ending . A really catchy tune is always a good start to any series and they do a good job of keeping you interested right from the start . The background music while not hugely intriguing flows very nicely and keeps you engrossed in the scenes . It sets the mood it tells you just how deeply these characters feel in these moments and adds the right punch where it is needed .
Addictiveness 8I was interested in the characters right from the start , so that was my main factor in getting sucked in . I would not mind re-watching this at all either , this series left a good taste in my mouth and is pretty memorable for the short length of it all . This is easily finishable in a week , maybe not something you will want to constantly watch but I doubt you will dread picking it up .
Over-All 9While this anime did not reach for the stars what it did reach for was enjoyment and I really did enjoy everything about it . The only short fall was the story and even then it is not like it was atrocious , it was just rather bland . This is an easy pick up and you will be done and wanting more before you know it.(p.s if this has any obvious typing errors i apologise .
