I apologize for the late update. I was super tired and needed the sleep, so I fell asleep around 8 PM and am just now waking up.

Because this is what you could call an "act of god" I'll count all votes that happened after 10 PM EST.

Anyway... I had to double and triple check the votes, because this is an end game vote.

After a confusing whirlwind of discussion, where everyone but Gamin'Gal received a vote. Had this game had a hammer rule, Popeye116 would have died early in the round.

Fortunately, legacyme3 knows the hammer rule sucks and doesn't allow conversation like this to exist.

With no hammer, we were left with a conversation that ended with something I don't think anyone expected.

A tie.

In a game where everyone seems to think a Mafia and Assassin exist, this could be the end of the game. If there's a mislynch here, then the town would lose.

And not only did the aim to kill one player, but they got really ambitious with this double or nothing strategy. They were intent on ending the game tonight.

There would be no breaking this tie. Both parties were not about to change their vote and willingly die, and the town decided to force a tie. We all know what happens in ties. Earlier a Godfather and a sheriff died. Tonight, two more would die.

Zlinqx, the Mafia's last remaining member bit the dust. But he wasn't the only one that would die.

Popeye116, the Assassin, would also die.

So caught up in their petty feud with each other, they didn't notice the town close in on them and finish them off. In a way, they both got what they wanted. The other's death. But that was all they'd be getting, as the town prevailed and destroyed both threats to them in one fell swoop.

Gamin'Gal and mlb789 would go to bed that night. Not sure whether the game was over or not. They wouldn't know until morning.

Day awoke. And when it came, neither was dead.

mlb789 stayed asleep all night, like he'd been doing every night. He is a bystander after all.

Gamin'Gal, on the other hand, did spend last night awake. Her role required being on the clock 24/7. Doctors tend to be awake at night, and sleep about as much as an Insomniac.

They'd call production, and get legacyme3 out on the island. He came and he was all smiles.

"That was a chaotic ending. Congratulations on surviving, members of the town. That was a bit of a hail mary, and this time, it worked out for you. I'd say you were fortunate that the two threats to you continued to argue with each other and failed to see what you were doing. Their pride was the instrument of their doom."

"What a way to end the day. And the game. And Mafia for the next few months. It was a rocky start, but we got to the end. And boy was it a proper finish."

He started to walk away from the two.

"Hey! What about us?"

"Not my problem. Hope you like Kanashi Shima!"

legacyme3 departed via helicopter, leaving Gamin'Gal and mlb789 alone on the island for the rest of their lives*.

Oh boy, it's tough choosing 3 MVPs for this game, and I know this won't be popular, especially with the people who actually won.

MVPs

1. Popeye116 - He was the assassin in a game of 29 people. In a game where people were targeted at random or for ridiculous reasons, it takes skill to survive to the end of the game. It also takes a good deal of luck, which happened to run out at the end. He was literally a night round away from winning the game, if only he'd killed mlb789 instead of zlinqx. Had he chosen the olive branch extended to him, he'd have to choose between killing Gamin'Gal and zlinqx. The Doctor had saved zlinqx on the previous night, and as in this game you cannot target the same person two nights in a row (or yourself for that matter), no matter who Popeye chose to kill, they would die. Zlinqx would have still been alive, and chosen to kill Popeye116 likely. However, the only person Gamin'Gal could have saved that night round is Popeye116. She could have saved no one, but I have to assume she'd save someone, wanting to possibly help a person she wasn't 100% sure of the alignment of.

2. mlb789 - He was pretty much the ringleader on the final day round, which resulted in a town win, proving that a bystander can fill a vital role. He was more than willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of the town (which was a clever strategy, though I don't think it would have worked out). In the end, he lucked out and got the chance to kill two birds with one stone (due to Popeye and zlinqx's feud). Once he was able to force a tie, the game was over. This was as much a result of skilled play and ridiculous luck.

3. Gamin'Gal - Mostly because there wasn't anyone else to choose from. The Mafia didn't play a particularly skilled game, outside of Blubcreator, who died at the same time as the sheriff. None of the town seemed to know what they were doing early in the game, and by the time the end game came around, only a handful of players remained. She wasn't the best doctor (mvhupsel seemed to have a better grasp on the role) but she survived and gave the town a vital advantage late, even if it wasn't capitalized on.

Popeye116 kills styrofoamboots (bystander). Zlinqx kills Gingercream1 (Gun Launderer). Gingercream1 fails to give gun to mlb789 (Reason: She Died, and cannot give a gun if she died before giving it). Ratio is currently 1 (Mafia): 2 (Town): 1 (Assassin).

Note - As the game is, the town cannot win unless they get a bit lucky. If they lynch Zlinqx, they will beat the Mafia, but, the assassin (Popeye116) can kill either one of them, and fit the victory conditions. If they lynch Popeye116, they would kill the Assassin, but be trapped by the Mafia, as he could kill either one of them and fit their own victory conditions.

The two or three ways they can win are this. First, the most probable of the two results. For this condition to be met, Gamin'Gal must be alive. She will then have to save the Mafia/Assassin's target (whichever of the two lives), and then correctly guess who the remaining bad guy is the following day round. The odds of this happening are rather low, given how the game has gone, but it is certainly possible.

Second, and more interesting, is a scenario where the day round ends with either town member (mlb789 or Gamin'Gal) dying, and leaving one of each faction remaining. That night round, the assassin and the Mafia member would have to target each other, allowing the last remaining town member to be the sole survivor of the game. This would require an insane amount of luck.

The third scenario, and the one I see as least likely, given that it relies on both sides being a bit moronic and unconvential. For this to work, Popeye and Zlinqx need to vote against each other, and then mlb789 and Gamin'Gal need to split the votes between the two. By forcing a tie, they'd kill both threats to the town at once. This would be a bit moronic, even if gives them the win, as it is a completely fool hardy plpay that would backfire badly if they accidentally hit a member of the town. Of course, this is also the scenario that offers the highest probability of winning.

Essentially, this round's result is going to come down to whether the town takes the Mafia or the Assassin's side in the next day round, as the only way for them to win, is to essentially shoot themselves in the foot, or get lucky with a night round save (if the Doctor is still alive. Granted, in that scenario, 3 are alive, and the odds will never be greater for a doctor save).

I honestly have no idea what's going to happen. I just thought it relevant to share this doomsday scenario with you all at this juncture, once I post the results.

Note - During this day round, Popeye116 PM'd me hoping to trigger a potential hidden potato rule (He said something to the effect of "desperately trying to trigger a Hidden Potato Rule, I'd like to kill off zlinqx"). Though ineffective, as there is no such oddball rule, he was the first player to ever try to trigger a hidden potato rule by PM'ing me, which is outstanding. Kudos to him for thinking outside the box, as zlinqx is his biggest remaining threat to winning this game.

mlb789 messaged me at some point during the day round, and we had a small chat about his plans. Essentially, I got the impression that he'd be sacrificing himself for the good of the town, as he'd deduced that there were two killers remaining in the game. By allowing himself to die, he'd effectively force the two remaining killers against each other, while leaving as small a target as possible for them to hit a member of the town. He doesn't know this information exactly, but should he die in the day round, and leave the ratio at 1:1:1, the only way for the Town to win would be for Gamin'Gal to save nobody (in this round, doctors cannot save themselves, as I've had one ask to save themself) and for Popeye and Zlinqx to kill each other, which is relatively high in probability, given their vendetta against each other.

Also, Gamin'Gal and I had a small chat with about 12 hours to go left in the round. She told me she was leaning to killing Popeye116, and was suspicious that mlb789 was the fool. She also assumed the other doctor to die in the game (mvhupsel) was actually forged. Little does she know, she was the 2nd Doctor.

I didn't talk to Zlinqx about his own plans, but I get the impression he's more or less going through the motions right now. I can't imagine he changes his gameplan, which is fairly typical as far as end game Mafia plans go. Doesn't mean it's not working well, but it's nothing all that noteworthy.

In short, this is one of the most interesting day rounds to happen in a recent round of Mafia. There's been logic, off the wall guessing, and desperate moves, and last measures. No matter what the outcome of this day round is, I can safely say that no side can be faulted for losing at this point, they are putting enough effort into this at this stage for there to be any outcome.

Congrats Town on your win. That ending was pretty crazy.

I look forward to the next Mafia round, more people did make it more fun.

Congrats fellow townspeople! Sadly, I didn't make it, several rounds before my death, I knew I would be dead! mlb did one of the most gutsy moves ever, but it ended up not being necessary. I can't believe that worked! 

*Sigh* I'm glad the town won in the end but honestly I am obviously a tad annoyed with the way I died...

Ironic really.. When you consider that the 3 people that I suspected the most and gave reasons for..... Ended up being mostly correct... Considering how early my suspicion was... and I had already picked up on two mafia members, with one of them being the godfather.... One could question how long I would have lived anyways....

Argh if only mlb hadn't random lynched me. I was actually thinking of calling a temporary truce with popeye since I basically almost 100% knew he was the assassin already. Heck I was actually about to try and kill Popeye last night round but I wasn't entirely sure at that point.

And contrary to what people might think, I actually spent most of this round trying to convince gamin'gal to vote for popeye. I didn't bother trying to convince mlb since he seemed more suspicious of others and I doubted that I'd get to him, I wonder if the reason he voted for me was because he had been suspicious of me. I also had an idea of gamin'gal being the doctor, which I to some degree revealed publicly and also talked to gamin'gal about.

We made an alliance earlier this round to vote for Popeye but gamin'gal ended up not fulfilling it since she seemed to become suspicious of me for what appeared to be her gut feeling, I thought she would end up taking popeye's side but I guess I might've swayed her or she just came to the conclusion that it was more likely that popeye was the killer.
