I've been playing Street Fighter II since it popped up in a convenience store down the street from where I lived in Houston, TX sometime around 1990 and fell in love immediately. I have played almost all console versions of it and I can say without a doubt that The Street Fighter Collection for the Sega Saturn is among the best if not the best home version of Street Fighter II "The New Challengers".

The graphics are amazing for their time. The Internet seems to believe that Soul Caliber for the Dreamcast was the first time a true arcade experience was brought to the home consoles. Well, after playing this game I must disagree. All the backgrounds are there with full animation the characters move fluidly and respond on a dime. The sound effects all seem to be there and in great quality. It captures the arcade experience almost completely but with loading screens which could not be avoided at the time.

This game can be very addictive if you like fighting games. There are countless combos to be pulled off and if you crank the speed of the game up in the options menu you can make this game insanely hard or slow it down to make it easier. I gave it a 7 overall because even at slow speeds you have to have some skill to defeat your opponents especially the later ones, though you can jack it up to 10 using the speed setting as I mentioned before but alas there is no varying option. All of this also adds to the depth of the game.

Each character does have a story but they are all pretty straight forward and not too in-depth. It is stuff like you killed my father I want revenge. Or I want to be the best fighter in the world. Or I gotta end your tyranny, I think you get the idea here.

All in all this is a great version of Street Fighter II and I highly recommend checking it out if you like fighting games or if you are looking into trying them. The varying difficulty makes it great for beginners as well as hard-core fighting gamers.

Not a bad review, but you did not go into detail a lot. Maybe try going into detail more. I don't know, it just read as pretty short. It took me less than a minute to read this, and for a review, it should take me at least 2 or 3 minutes to read through a decent review.

thing1 :  Thanks for the feedback.  I'm trying to develop my own review style that doesn't involve the usual formula of a section for graphics,  sound, etc.  I'm trying to go for a more story style that is still easy to read and also informative.  Next time I'll try to put in a little more detail though, that does make sense.

Interesting review, most people including myself like to make different paragraphs. You however made it more of a blend. You mentioned things as other people their thougts, you told something about different modes, I think you mentioned many things, the only thing I missed here is some information about the music and sounds in the game. Other than that, it's a good review!

You are on the right track in writing reviews. I thought this review was simple However, my advice would be to give more detail about the game.  When I do my reviews I give details of the game what I liked didn't like, and how it compared to other games in the series or games like it. Overall this is a nice review just work on the details a little bit more. I would also add as another poster said go into detail in every category.  I hope this helps

tornadocam :  That is some good advice tornadocam I hope you will check out my second one as I put in a little more detail but still learned some things from your comment on this one that would have helped with my second one.  So if you would read it and let me know what you think that would be cool.
