You know, that every Generation in the Pokemon series, the main games (not remakes) introduce a new region (look at all the choices for all of them), and each one are very unique in their own way like the paths taken, the design of the city, and the scenery as well. So, with that said, what is your most favorite region in the series.

Personally, I have only seen 3 of the 6 so far in the series (Kanto, Johto, and Kalos), if I have to pick between those 3, I would go with Kanto, because who doesn't like the very first region in the whole series.

I grew up with Johto, so that region will always have that special feeling, y'know?
I love the pokemon in the region, such as Meganium, Umbreon, Furret, Kingdra, Donphan, Raikou, etc.
The region itself isn't bad either, with cool looking places to visit such as Bell Tower, Dragon's Den, The routes next to cianwood (the cliffs), The Pokeathlon, etc.

I am going to go with Johto. Something I think it did better than all the rest was make it feel like a comfortable place. It also had some awesome gyms, a unique layout, although it ended in some bad leveled areas in some parts, and just some terrific locations. From the whole downhill cliffs that lead back to one of the first areas of the game to the Slowpoke Well. And although it might not count as Johto, the way they connected it with Kanto was very cool as well.

I go with kanto, as I grew up at the start of the series. I also watched the other ones such as johto. But, I loved what I saw in kanto and also some good old school pokemons. Also they pulled out the songs as well. It was really enjoyable back then. I still love to watch it from time to time. To be honest, I have pokemon downloaded onto my laptop. If I can remember correctly, I have up to season 1 to 9. ^-^

I like all of them, but Johto is probably my choice since Gold was the first game that I owned while Yellow was the first one that I played.

I say Johto is a strong contender due to nostalgic reasons but Unova is probably my favorite (BW2 version to be exact though I'm not sure if you would count it as a remake or a sequel). I think it's the most diverse looking of all the regions and it has some really cool areas to explore (I especially liked the look of magma cave in Pokemon White 2).

Personally I think the designs in Kanto and Johto to some extent were bland looking though it can be understood since it was the first region in the game.

I would have to go with Unova because I loved some of the cities and features, such as Join Avenue. Behind that I would have to go with kalos.

My first Pokemon game was Gold version for the Game Boy Color, so Johto will always be my home. I always feel so nostalgic whenever I play a Johto game because the memories of me playing Gold non stop for days when I was a kid come flooding back to me.

So yeah, Johto is easily my favorite region.

My favorite region is Kalos.  It has a lot to do and it just looks so beautiful.  The lore of the region is interesting and so are all the towns and people in them too!  It feels all put together and makes geographically.    It also has plenty to do and see like going to a store to get new clothes or visiting the pokeball factory.  You won't run out of things to so easily in Kalos!

The pokemon region I like best is the kanto region. Kanto region are the first pokemon game I play which is a red version and kanto region is better than all pokemon region. The change of every pokemon region is not really that good but I like how the story goes in pokemon. Every episodes of kanto region are my favorite because of its simplicity.

I would have to say that Kanto is my favorite Region. That's because classic is the way to go. Kanto is where it all began 20+ years ago. I think Kanto was the best Region since that's where all the good Pokemon are from. I think I would love to live in the Kanto Region so I can start off fresh and make my way to the newer regions in time. Gotta start from point A to get to point B and so on. So what better way than to start from Kanto and work your way up.

I played Yellow version, but barely remember it. Gold was my first memorable experience with the games. But as far as my favorite region goes, I think I would choose Hoenn. I partially chose it because it would be where I would want to live if I could. Warm, tropical, I'm all about that island life. It has a wide variety of landscapes and good Pokémon. Many of my favorites are 3rd gen. Sinnoh never held any special place for me, as I was starting to lose interest in Pokémon at the time (temporarily, thankfully). I played through Unova just to get used to the new Pokémon right before X and Y came out, and while Kalos is pretty, it's a little too French for my tastes. This is just my opinion, though. Argue if you must, but my vote has already been cast.

I can personally understand the need to cling to one's nostalgia, but seriously? I just find it bland that everyone is choosing whatever reihon based entirely on it being "the first they played" instead of actually examining the region's environments and what they have to offer, from a critical standpoint. This being said, none of the regions past Gen III had any votes until I placed mine, because almost no one started with Gen IV and up, which saddens me to be honest.

My favorite regions is Unova, because the it was simply more enjoyable than the previous or next generations. The region itself was diverse, highly explorable, and housed a wide range of people and interesting locations. While the method by which you traverse the region per the story is more linear than the previous installments, the region still has interesting locations, as well as loads of Post-Game content in Black and White 2 which added so much more depth to the region than it already had. While the region of Unova was originally small, it was expanded on and given more locations, cities, and places of interest in B2 and W2 which amplified the experience more than what previous sister game's additions had to offer. Overall, the towns and cities, with the help of the DS's new capabilities, look much more colorful and welcoming, as well as feeling more like real-life cities, which arguably makes the experience much better in the long run. Of course, there is Castelia City, which is one of the largest cities in the franchise, and truly felt like a Metropolis, hardly matched by cities before it like Goldenrod or Jubilife. The plot of Gen V differs between the two games, but the first group of them, Black and White, have what is my favorite storyline in the series, and what is considered to be by many people the most in-depth and engrossing storyline that the game's have to offer. The character, N, makes the concept of capturing and using Pokemon, ironically, less black and white than thought originally, and his character is very well developed and makes for one of the most interesting in the series.

Lastly, the roster:
I gave this a skip because I cannot stress this enough, I absolutely love this roster. While Kanto and Quantity over Quality, Johto had Quality over Quantity, Unova had both. So many Gen V pokemon impress me, design wise, their battle usefulness, and even their use in the metagame. Unova's roster gave me more questions I needed to ask myself while forming a team, unlike previous generations where I can simply choose which Pokemon are bad and which are good. Every Gen V Pokemon can be used to a solid likeness, and with most of them having very satisfying designs, I have no regrets about what this roster has to offer.

Now, it's not like me to openly criticize other's choices, but I will let you know this: I started with Gen III. I started playing Hoenn, and before even thinking about posting it as my favorite, before having to second guess myself, I looked to see which one was the most satisfying, fun, and overall best statistically. I would say that it's time that we started looking at games critically, instead of sticking to childish biases and favorites, so we can better understand and appreciate them as gamers.

Hmm...best region...

Tough...

Hoenn-Not even in the argument. Never played it, don't have one of the new games yet.

Sinnoh- My second game, definitely in there.

Unova-In just for Team Plasma and the Kyruem w/b

Kalos-Mega Absol

Johto-has some of my favorite characters and Pokemon in the series.

Kanto-Meh, not much there, not much for experience on my part.

So, let's analyze.

Sinnoh's arguments-Dialga, Palkia, Arceus, Darkrai, Dialga, and Giritina are some of my favorite legendaries in the entire series. Giritina, himself, is the top, and I'll get to the second later. Infernape was an incredibly fun starter to play with, and with my Absol, it was a very fun play through all-together. Accompanied with the whole thing of Team Galactic wanting Giritina( Because I played Platinum) It was gorgeous, despite the graphics, which at the time I didn't mind. Otherwise, Cynthia is a great champion, and one of the two that I really like. Not much of a Sinnoh League fan in general though...

Problems-Don't like many of the characters, Barry being extremely obnoxious in my opinion.

Other than Infernape, I'm not big on the starters.

Now, on to Johto.

It was, in fact, my first region, Soulsilver version. Typhlosion was my favorite Pokemon once I got him, no I still think Quilava is the best looking Pokemon in the entire series. Of course, Typhlosion moved down when I discovered Absol. (-: But I did enjoy the Team Rocket experience, despite the not-so in depth villains. What I lived though, was the entirety of Blackthorn city, including Clair, the elder, and the general layout.(Plus I found my first Skarmory just a bit past it). Pryce and Falkner are also some much-loved characters, though I'm not sure why. Otherwise, I think it has some of the best legendary catching stuffs, at least with Lugia and his cavern. Otherwise, Lance is my favorite champion, just because he is the dragon master. (And, as it was my first play through, I still used legendaries, so about 3 times in a row I got to him with no medicine left, my Poliwrath(loved catching him to), Typhlosion, Golem, Pidgeot, and Mamoswine fainted, and Lugia at 1 HP. I still beat a Dragonite once.

Otherwise, the repeat adventure in Kanto was great, and I lived battling red, plus the the roaming legendaries are my personal favorites.

Problems-Not so in-depth enemies.

Unova(White version)-Had a few great things, and few bad, just because it was such a huge leap. It was a great experience for me, and Team Galactic had great, in-depth characters, as well as plot twists. The graphics increase and improved menu/Y registered items was great, and there was some way to play with your freinds that I adored.

Unfortunately, it wasn't the best for a few reasons-

1-Zekrom and Reshiram are a couple of my least favorite legendaries, despite how cool Reshiram looks, the starters were my least favorite, the roamers were kinda dumb I thought, and I didn't like Alder much at all. Cheren and Bianca were cool though.

As for Kalos-Fairy type. I hate it. It two favorite types, dragon and dark, and bumped them down more than a few notches, The legendaries weren't the greatest, Diantha is, by far, the worst champion to date, and I didn't particularly like any gym leaders. This games saving graces are the big berry field and mega evolution.

So, honestly, I am going to go with Johto, not because it has my favorite legendary, nor because it was my first, but because it had the best experience, in my opinion.
