Ever since 1.5 Cupcake, Google's Android, a mobile operating system on more than a billion devices, codenames its software alphabetically. The theme of the codenames are confectionaries. A and B were skipped since they had missed the two updates and naming them. However, rumors still float around about the updates.

Anyways, we are at K (KitKat). But here's predictions about Android's L release and further.
