Now for a more-in depth review of the Maxthon Browser; I've been using this browser for a month or two now, giving it a good usage and I've found it to be really good and a dark horse in terms of the well-known options available (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome). But there's been a few problems that have made me want to switch back to a different browser (mainly Chrome or Internet Explorer): While security is their main asset, as well as speed, the general response times, without clearing the cache, has been getting slower and slower to the point where it's probably faster to use Google Chrome. If you ever wanted a full usage of the ad blocker you'd have to login and if you did that, for the first time, you'd lose all your settings and customizations and would need to redo everything - which is time consuming when you've already done it once before.

Some decent things about Maxthon would be that you've got one-click to re-open a tab you've just closed, compared to two clicks in most browsers, and if you accidentally click on the HOME button you'll get a new tab instead of losing whatever you've got in your current tab.
And if you tweet about their browser, or even tag them in a tweet, then they might reply to you and help address any problems, concerns, or even praise that you give them!

Other than the aforementioned problem(s), I believe that Maxthon still has some work to do to make their browser able to challenge the heavyweights of Microsoft, Mozilla, Apple, and Google in the browser market. I'm happy that I found this browser, but I don't think I'd want to continue using it at the current moment but would still suggest it to people who want an alternative browser

I'll let you guys try Maxthon out for yourself; http://www.maxthon.com/?lang#product

I hadn't heard of Maxthon before, and I think it's really neat that you tried it out.

I looked at the site, and the cloud sync really caught my eye.

"Maxthon Cloud syncs user data, history and tabs across any platform their choice"

Did you get the chance to try that out? It sounds pretty awesome.

EideticMemory : I didn't try the cloud sync option as I only use my laptop for the internet, rarely my phone if needed, but I think it does work from what I can gather; You just sign-up/login and save your settings, then if you're using another computer with Maxthon on it you'd just log-in via the browser and your settings/tabs/bookmarks/etc should come up until you log-out again.

I'd probably continue to use Maxthon in the future, just not at this moment in time.

Oh well. But it does sound like accessing the cloud isn't that much of a hassle.

I also took a look at the extensions, and there's quite a few.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any equivalent to Chrome's "Comment Save" plugin.

But the more I look into Maxthon, the more I want to try it out. I just downloaded it.

EideticMemory : It should be easy to suggest an add-on idea in the Maxthon community, I believe, and who knows what could happen; Let me know what you think about their browser, or Tweet to them if you can - they appreciate any criticism/praise, they liked my tweet this linked to this thread

That's awesome that they're actively looking at feedback.

I installed it, and I'm using it right now.

It has a Firefox look and feel, except it's a lot better then Firefox.

I'm having minor issues with things like scrolling with my keyboard but nothing that's been a real problem. I think I'll stick with Chrome as my main browser, but this has definitely become my second favorite.

Thank you for making this thread!

EideticMemory : If Maxthon continues to improve then I can't see why won't be challenging the big boys and become the biggest underdog to browser wars since Google Chrome was created - but not as big.
