Minecraft is a very fun game. You can do things from mining diamonds deep inside of caves, to building a house on an island made of mushrooms. It has a silly nature but can also be dark, too (specifically in the Nether). There have also been many fan-speculated rumors, such as Herobrine. So, here is my review:

Graphics: 4
There’s nothing special in Minecraft’s graphics. It’s just pixelated blocks and chunks. But there’s something special about it. Something about the graphics that makes it….unique. Maybe the simplicity of the graphics is what makes it appealing. The sunsets in Minecraft sure are pretty, too. Also, for the people who don’t like the normal graphics, there are plenty of texture packs to fit your liking. Although, many of them aren’t free. But compared to graphics for other popular PC games, the ones for Minecraft aren’t much to look at. I would give it a 4.5, but I can't. These reasons are why I give the graphics in Minecraft a 4.

Sound: 8
The sound in Minecraft fits the game rather well. It’s very relaxing to explore a world while listening to classic music. There’s sometimes even a little of electronic-esque music in there. I don’t know how to explain it, but it just works. Plus, there’s the music in the Nether and The End. I won’t go into too much detail on these, but they also fit the areas very well. The sound effects in all the different areas of the game are great. When you’re inside while it’s raining, it sounds very realistic, as it becomes more dim and quiet. Plus, the sound of the Ghasts in the Nether really expresses how desolate the place is. The harmony of the sound effects and music in the game is why I give the sound an 8.

Addictiveness: 9
Minecraft is very addicting. Sometimes, I play it for hours on end. The depth of the game adds on to this, as there’s so much to do once you “beat” the game. Many people add on to their survival world to make it as amazing as possible, even after they beat it. Plus, there’s creative mode. I can’t even begin to say how endless the possibilities are in creative mode. Simply google image search “Amazing Minecraft Creations” and you’ll see what I mean. Sorry, I kind of got distracted there. Basically, creative mode can be very addicting. Plus, there’s Multiplayer. With the endless amount of things to do there, it’s very addicting. This is why I give Minecraft’s addictiveness a 9.

Story: 2
Minecraft basically has no story. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a bad thing. It isn’t the kind of game that’s really supposed to have a story. I only gave it a 2 instead of a 1 because it has a teeny little story. You’re steve, who just spawned into the world, and you mine supplies until you wrack up the courage to defeat the ultimate Enderdragon. Once you kill the Enderdragon, it goes into a credit scene, where somebody is talking about you, the Player. That’ all there is really. You can also fight the Wither Skull, which is a second boss. I don’t know what happens if you defeat it. This is why I give the story a 2.

Depth: 10
Hoo boy, there’s a whole lot of stuff to do in this game. Much of it I mentioned in the “addictiveness” part, with the whole thing with creative world. You don’t only have to build masterful art in creative. You can also build things such as redstone creations, which is basically electricity. I’m not very good at it, and it’s pretty complicated, and there’s a lot of things to build with redstone, so I won’t delve too deep into that subject. Also, there’s the single player, where even after you beat the game there’s much to do, like defeat the second boss. Finally, there’s the Multiplayer of Minecraft. With thousands of available servers, the possibilities are endless. You can do different things such as Factions, Hunger Games, Sky Block, Spleef, Parkour, and more (that rhymed ).  Some of the things I like to do are Sky Wars, Kit Hunger Games, Paintball, and Prison. Altogether, the depth of Minecraft is huge. I would give it a 9.5, but there isn't an option for that, so I will give it a 10.

Difficulty: 6
Minecraft can be pretty tough sometimes, especially in Multiplayer. It’s not easy to win games on multiplayer when there are people who have playing for years. My opinion on difficulty may be off because i don’t do that much survival on PC minecraft (I prefer multiplayer), and I have been playing on Xbox360, of which is marginally easier, for a lot longer, so bear with me. On PC survival, it is a lot harder, because you don’t get a map when you spawn in, and if you do get a map they don’t cover nearly as much space as they do in the Xbox version. Plus, in pc minecraft, it automatically saves when you die...I learned that the hard way :/. But if you get a bed and create a good shelter in a good area, it’s pretty simple from there. Another thing that makes it tough is grinding Endermen for ender eyes. It is very tough to find the ender portal without ender pearls, and its sort of hard to find Endermen, too, unless you’re in the desert. Plus, if you plan on fighting the Wither Skull instead, it’s even harder to get wither skull heads from the Nether. This is an even more excruciating grinding experience. On a completely different subject, the crafting is pretty complicated, too. In the Xbox360 version, you can just gather the supplies and click a button on the crafting table and it automatically crafts it for you. On the PC version, you have to gather supplies and rearrange them on the crafting table, which is pretty tough. I had (and still sometimes have) to look up on google how to craft items other than armor and tools. Aside from these difficulties, Minecraft is pretty simple, which is why I give the difficulty a 6.

Overall: 8.7
Overall, Minecraft is very fun. There’s over 16,000,000 users, and I can see why. Although there’s some of those hecklers that say Minecraft players are nerdy, but who cares? It’s an enjoyable game. The graphics, although they aren’t much, are unique, and the sound fits the game well. And although there isn’t much of a story, the addictiveness and depth of the game is very likely why so many people love it. Plus, while the game can be super hard at times, it isn’t TOO difficult. Also, there’s even a Vizzed Minecraft server, and if you have the game, I really recommend you check it out. I give Minecraft a rating of 8.7 overall. Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this review!

Well, this is the second review I've read about Minecraft today, and all I can keep thinking is how very similar it is to the other review that was written. :s  You've mentioned several of the same facts, mentioned many of the same characteristics, and even praised mostly the same aspects.

I'm pretty sure this wasn't done on purpose, but it's still a little too similar for me to really feel like I can say much about it.  It would have been a lot more impressive if I had read this one first or not read the other one, perhaps.

I don't know how long you worked on this one, but if the other one might have been completed before you started this one.  In that case, I'd like to offer a piece of advice:  Before you write a review, look through the reviews already present for that game and make sure either that yours is not too similar, or that the game doesn't have too many reviews already.

I hope you don't take any offense at this!  It really is well written.

Singelli : Thanks for the advice. I didn't even realize there was another review on Minecraft today. By the way, I didn't take TOO long working on this one, probably an hour or two.
