Today my girl friend (notice I put a space ) invited me to go with her and her friend to Maumee Bay all day (I live in Ohio). I had to tell my mom at the last minute and I was nervous as heck because I hadn't met her friend before. I did all my worrying for nothing. Her friend is just like her except even funnier than she is! The trip started off with a really crazy and awkward but very fun car ride. I kept playing funny sounds on my phone when I got annoyed with them. We kept making each other laugh, as well as Audrey's (my girl friend) brother and sister.

After we arrived at Maumee Bay, we set up chairs and towels on the beach and then went in the water until it was time to get out for a safety break. We talked a lot, played a lot (sometimes with seaweed and wet sand!), laughed a lot, and got to know each other more. (Of course we did that because we were having battles with wet sand and water! ) The only problems were that I was getting so mad about constantly getting sand thrown in my face and hair by someone that was with us, I couldn't swim (I could kind of float though), and there was seagull crap everywhere. It was one of the most fun experiences ever!

After we packed up everything, we started talking about going to see a movie. Audrey's mom said she was going to drop me off before everybody else went to see the movie. Audrey tends to annoy her mom, so of course she said, "Are we going to his house to pick him up later?" and then her mom hit her. It was obvious to me that I wasn't going, so I didn't say anything. The car trip home was much less fun, crazy, and awkward because everybody was tired, even me. I was the only one that was barely tired.

When we arrived at my house, Audrey's friend said it was nice to meet me and I said, "It was nice to meet you too!" and Audrey's mom thanked me for going on the trip. I said, "You're welcome!" Around an hour later, I thanked Audrey for inviting me to go to Maumee Bay with her and then I said, "Please tell your friend I'd like to be friends with her!" so she did and now her friend and I are friends. All we have to do is get each other's phone numbers. That would help a lot, because she lives in Tennessee. (Yep, I got another girl friend. )

And I hate beaches these days. Ever since being stuck in Hawai'i for 7 1/2 months with nothing to do but go to the beach... yeah... I hate going to the beach now. Glad you had fun though. 

It's great to hear you've a new friend. Unfortunately, I could never get into beaches. Thankfully, neither can my friends (or my girlfriends), so I never really had to worry about it.

thing1 : I think I will and I'm sure that all of my friends will agree with me. Most of the talking I did with Audrey and her friend was random and/or silly stuff. My sense of humor and the fact that I'm a nerd really smart are what Audrey seems to like the most about me, so I'm guessing girls will tend to like me for mainly those reasons. I begin high school next month so I'll be trying to get more friends (the right way this time) and I'll probably be impressing girls a lot while I'm at it. I likely wouldn't be a beach fan if I went through what you did in Hawaii.

Boxia : I wasn't into beaches much until I went to Myrtle Beach for a one-week vacation. All of my real life friends are into beaches so I'm really glad I am. If I wasn't, I would feel really left out.

PacmanandMariofan, I really enjoyed reading your post, but I have to admit it made me feel kind of jealous.  I know I'm 27 (oh gosh, I almost said 26!), but I really wish I could go to the beach and play with sand and seaweed.  haha!  I've only EVER been to the beach a couple of times, and the last time was with some college classmates about 7 or 8 years ago.   Based off your descriptions, I could feel and hear all the sensations of the beach! I know that probably wasn't the point of your thread, but I really enjoyed it.

I'm also glad you had such a great time.  I remember my middle school and high school years weren't that great.  But when you have days like that... the world just seems to float, doesn't it?  I wish I could make friends that easily!

Singelli : You're right, I didn't intend to do that in my thread. I've never gotten a friend that easily before. It's usually difficult for me to get friends. I gave a lot of background information about Audrey in another thread I created this month. I'd give you the link if I wasn't on my phone. It's in this forum.

Hey, that's very cool man! You keep getting girl friends you are probably a lady killer XD But all fun aside, sounds like you had a great time, I think your little rant thread now is not a big problem anymore
Unlike most others here I love the beach and I go every week to the beach here during the summer vacation. It's a shame that the beach where you went was so dirty, as the Dutch beaches are pretty clean.

juuldude : Duh Yeah, my little rant thread isn't necessary for me to feel good anymore My friend Joe will be back home tomorrow so I can FINALLY hang out with him! The beach being dirty wasn't a problem, in fact, we were having fun trying to avoid the dirty sand that was thrown at us and the seaweed that floated to us. Haha Audrey's friend freaked out every time seaweed got near her or someone snuck up on her. Sometimes she splashed water everywhere when she freaked out.
