awww, I really, really, REALLY like the idea of this thread!  Not to mention... the responses! Some of you write some very beautiful descriptions! Impressive!

(Popeye116:
A soybean field?!  Wow! What does that look like?  How big is it?)

I'm in my new office right now and was lucky enough to get a space with a window.  It's in the city, but again... as luck would have it, my window overlooks a very, very nice part of the city. I'm on the fourth floor of the building, but since the building is on a hill side, I'm closer to three stories off the ground.  There's  a part of the building jarring out under my window because it's the overhang for the building's entrance. Like all the old buildings of the city, this one is made of big concrete slabs.  Therefore, I can't see the ground by sitting here at my desk. Instead, I see the concrete roof of the overhang. It's has a lot of bird poop and weathering on it, so it is not very attractive.  Above that, however, are the tree tops to one of the city's only parks.  They are very green and 'airy' (for lack of a better word). Lights are strung across them for little festivals they city holds.

Although I can't see the ground, through the trees you can see a few sidewalks.  The courthouse (in another antique and rather beautiful building) frames one side of the park.  So through those branches, you can see people hustling and bustling about between the street out of view, and the courthouse on the right hand side of my perspective of the park.

The sky today is a beautiful sky blue, with only a few wisps of cloud that are so thin and small, that they're easy to miss.  The breeze is light today, so the upper branches are swaying back and forth.  Occasionally, squirrels will run across the light strings, or birds will hop across the concrete at the base of my window.

Cradily is love : I'm quite familiar with sucky-view apartments. LOL

Right now, I'm at home and my view is much nicer than where I used to live.  I live in the very back of an apartment complex, so we face this huge (probably) 12 foot high brown wooden fence.  It looks old and weathered, and it's atop a three-ish foot incline.  The fence is probably 15 feet away from the edge of our little porch thingie.  The porch thingie is made of concrete and is very weathered.  Green and black stains cover some of its surface, and sitting on its floor is a dirty black foldable table, and a black metal folding chair. There's also a grill with a cover on it, and all three items are covered in light pollen, as well as dust left from rain.

I can't see above the brown fence from where I'm sitting, but I do know that there are trees behind it showing above, and a very blue sky.

I see a pit-like thing where a pool was ~10 years ago, that was torn down and stuff. There are two trees in the pit. (it was a stationary above ground pool). And farther back, I see the edge of a forest.

Right now I see nothing but darkness cause it is night at the moment. But I can barely see one building and I see a bridge with two bright red glowing lights at the top.

I see my street, with the sun slowly fading away and the cars everywhere I look and my neighbours houses. Also, many trees, and some people who never notice I'm looking out of my window even if they walk in the direction in our house and it's easy to see

As I look out my window I can see palm trees, lots of very tall beautiful palm trees. When you look at the street it looks like it would be a nice sunny day, but as you look up I can see that it's going to rain in about 15 or 20 minutes. I can see my elderly neighbors house with the driveway empty as usual. As I look up at the palm trees I think to myself "wow I'm sure that the yards these trees are in must be the greenest grass you've ever seen". But as I look down to the yards they are dark green with dead grass and dirt covering most of the yards. there are a few old people that take very nice care of their lawns since they don't have anything better to do with their time, as they are too old to drive and they recognize that. I see the cracked light grey street with graffiti which was once painted over, but the paint has been eroded away and the original lettering remains unscathed. I see old cars with dents and scratches in the driveways that in a way make the street look nice because without these cars the street would just be a baron wasteland. Among the houses, some of them look as if they have been abandoned. Theses houses have mysterious pieces of paper in the windows that you can't quite read from the street. The grass has grown to about 2 feet tall and hasn't been maintained recently.

Yes that's right everybody... Welcome to Florida

I see houses and lots of cars. Also, I can see trees and plants, and every now and then people walk past. Though, mostly houses block my sight. Out of the dining room window I can see a park, my garden and lots of trees and houses. Even a bonfire every now and then.

Right now I see darkness. It's 8:48PM, and it's completely dark. I do hear my dog out in the backyard though.

I see a tree, some cars parked, and a grass field. It's night so lamps light the pathway. They're nowhere near as bright as the white orbs in the main quad.

Unfortunately I'm on the wrong side of the building when it comes to having a good view. But it's a slightly larger room, so I can't complain.

Outside my window i have the greatest view in the history of everything. I can see for miles and miles in most any direction, though one view i love most. To my left i can see balconies, a business center, and a busy intersection. Looking forward i can see a forest of trees. You can barely see it, but in this forest is suburbs. In the distance you can also see the downtown. To my right, i can see more roads, more trees, and more buildings. If you look VERY hard, i can see the lake. Also, if i look very, VERY hard forwards, and it's a good days, i can see the curving of the terrain in the far distance
