So, a bit of background information to fill you people in that don't know about my health condition, or in case some of my old friends have forgotten:

I served in the United States Active Duty Army. While in training, it is believed that I herniated a disc in my spine, developed Degenerative Disk Disease and Kyphosis.

Since getting out of the military, my condition has only gotten worse. The herniated disc has damaged a nerve that runs all the way down my left leg, so I have to wear a knee brace sometimes.
On the 23rd, I have to go see a neurosurgeon to see if doing whatever to my herniated disc will take the pressure off my pinched nerve. No doubt, there is going to be permanent damage to the nerve. I don't know if the surgeon is going to want to remove the nerve or what, so that is what the appointment on the 23rd is for.

And just an FYI for my friends, the herniated disc and the degenerative disc disease have gotten worse.

thing1 : Man, surgery. That sucks! Hopefully luck is on your side and you can have a not so fatal operation to get better with your health. Thank you for your service and good luck with the surgery !

Ah man that sucks, back pain is untolerable, especially in that caliber.

After a year of it I can't imagine it would be better.

I'd suggest you go for it if it's offered. Costly, but its better than the braces and the pain.

Feel bad about the disorders. Really hope they cool down.

thing1 : Dang bro! This isn't good timing at all with the football season getting closer. I'll be praying for a speedy recovery! Good luck with the surgery and take it easy.

Oh my goodness *covers face with hands *
I did not say that I was getting a surgery next week. I said that I was getting a consultation.

But, there is a good chance that I may need surgery. if that is the case, then I post about it. But for now, it just a consultation.

happiness7 : it will most undoubtedly result in needing a surgery. In fact, it would greatly help my VA claim. Once that finally gets accepted, the amount of Back Pay that I will receive should be enough to get myself financially stable again, hopefully. But, I hope it does not come to that, as I need a job right now before my Credit Card debt gets too out of control.

thing1 : Oh, that's too bad . Hopefully you are able to get a job easily and pay off your credit cards. My sister's husband has a spending problem (he's in the military as a medic trying to become a doctor in the military) and he spends about $150 dollars every two weeks on their credit card. My sister is so mad at him, but someone grenaded him, so he has memory problems and they are in a $4000
debt on their credit card.

This sounds pretty painful. If you have to go through with the surgery hopefully that doesn't cause permanent damage. I would hate for the surgery to be really expensive but from what you have explained it sounds like it might just be. Hopefully you can pay for it and if not your insurance might be able to help out if you have any. For the time being take care of yourself and good luck with the consultation.

- May god bless your sole -

cnw64 : I have ObamaCare, so it should be covered. If not, I will just wait until the VA finally approves my claim. Because it is related to a injury or condition that I developed / sustained while in the military, it will be covered. That is, if I do indeed have to wait for the freaking VA
