Hey CC Forum, I want to real quick share about an online publication that I am a part of. The ministry is called True Declination Ministries, and it is devoted in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as discipleship and growth for Christians in Christian life and in theology. There are many different writers on there that are of different backgrounds, from college students, to professors of different fields, to pastors, to seminar students, etc. The articles are focused on putting truth out there and to present in a researched and reasonable presentation.

I personally am the video editor for that site and I have written a couple of articles, like answering the question "why won't God heal amputees", and how prosperity gospel is not the gospel at all. Check them out.

play4fun :

cool!

But does it have. . .Torah? 3

Otherwise, I see it being like a lot of other places, albeit great to see someone doing something about this changing world, seems about right with a lot of stuff, please no replacement theology and anti Torah teachings.

Anything regarding ancient Jewish manuscripts and the Abrahamite time world, perhaps the Original Torah that Abraham and Job kept?

That's what I'd REALLY like to read. (for research and stubs, )

Just asking, it's cool that you're into that stuff though, actually, you're a neat guy to talk to in general.

I would appreciate what you might recommend to me.

The Torah was written by Moses, and therefore Abraham or Job wouldn't have one =)

I spoke of the Original Torah. Not the completed Torah with the first five books of Moses. As for how much of the the commands that Job and Abraham kept that the Israelites did, that is another story, I think that they kept pretty much all of them except, maybe, the Jewish feasts, like Passat.

It might be in Genesis, 26, but I'm not sure that's the one I'm thinking of.

I personally believe that The Torah, and base for right and wrong has always existed from the beginning of time, for "In the beginning, the word was God and was with God."

Since certain events had not happened yet, I doubt that the "word" means Old and New Testaments in their current forms, but rather refers to the moral code that God can, or never WILL violate.

This word was the Torah, and is also the Gospel in a sense.

Genesis 26:5 tells us:

. . . Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

Abraham kept a moral code, that is why he was different from everyone else in Mesopotamia. I can't totally prove that Abraham kept all of the same laws that The Israelites did, but we have some very interesting things that we never See Abraham, and other directly command by God too keep, rather, it is just assumed that some things, (Like Adultery) are wrong. Though, the Oral Torah does have some records that are even older than the stuff written in the Bible. ie, the six commands given to Adam and Eve. and the seven commands given to Noah and the whole world.

(Genesis) 39:7-9 And after a while his master's wife took notice of Joseph and said, "Come to bed with me!" But he refused. "With me in charge," he told her, "my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"

from the Torah.

(Genesis) 38:6-10Judah got a wife for Er, his firstborn, and her name was Tamar. But Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in HaShem's sight; so HaShem put him to death. Then Judah said to Onan, "Lie with your brother's wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to produce offspring for your brother." But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so whenever he lay with his brother's wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from producing offspring for his brother. What he did was wicked in HaShem's sight; so he put him to death also.

Another command from the Torah.

The Medrash talks about Abraham knowing the Torah.

Abraham, and Job kept many commands form the Torah, the COMMANDS per say, but certain historical events had not happened yet either. . . so. . .  yeah. . .

You can find many instances in the Torah where Abraham and others have kept many, MANY commands from the original Torah before it was assembled at Mount Siani. On that Holy Day, God didn't create many new laws, even the priestly system was already in play, (See Melchizadek). God reinstated old laws that Abraham, and his fathers had remembered from ages earlier, they probably has the same oral records that many rabbis sill read and preserve with care today, in fact, many cultures still remember the commands given to Noah after the worldwide flood.

Look at all the animal sacrifices.

The Torah, in it's original format WAS observed by Abraham, in fact a "sin" is defined as violation of the Torah, and that word is used several times in the old Testament.

Genesis 4:6 "but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell. 6Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?7"If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it."

BUT, let us not spam this thread with to much talk about this stuff.

play4fun :

How did you get involved in something like this exactly, you must be pretty devout to get involved in something like that.

Sword legion :

First off, the Word was with God and the Word was God. "Logos" is "Word", and that is what John is calling Jesus.

Moreover, if the Torah is eternal like you propose, then Christians need to sacrifice, not wear mixed fabrics, no shellfish, etc. This is not the case, so perhaps only part of the Torah?

You're on a good point, so let me lead you where I think you should go. There has always been only one moral code, Godliness. However, the Hebrews were set apart (in fact, "hebrew" means "set apart") and they had extra laws added on. The gentiles still had to follow the same moral code as before, the Jews had to follow it as well with some extra rituals tacked on to set them apart.

The extra rituals were fulfilled when Jesus was resurrected. Now we're all left with the original moral code, including the Jews.

The book of Romans (chapter 2) talks about how God's law is written on all people's hearts and minds. This is that moral code.

Finally, you're still right that the Word is the moral code. But, "logos" also means "logic" and "wisdom". The moral code is totally logical and can be reasoned.

I've always found it pretty awesome that you're such a Christian leader in big publications. I know you don't see it that way, but this is from the perspective of someone that's never published stuff like you have.  I took a look at the site, but I didn't look at it in too much detail, to be honest.  I just wanted to say that I appreciate you putting your voice out there.  It needs to be shared with more than vizzed.

Do you still make your videos?  I doubt you've had the time, but it'd be nice to see you make another one.
