Nope. Couldn't say it with a straight face. I honestly have seen enough TDV to know where this is going. The Yellow/Red will be overused Reviews or walkthroughs, and the posts will be 90% 10 worders for blue. The only interesting thing is the Green jersey, which I'm assuming is the CP Jersey now.

I'm not looking forward to this month. But whatever, I'm only a man. I can't do anything about it.

pacman1755 : I take a little offense to that blue jersey comment. I won the blue jersey in October, I guarantee you I didn't make ten word posts. It isn't always the spammiest posters and the review writers that win. Razor usually dominates the yellow category without writing a lot of reviews, and Dragonlord Stephi won red in October without writing a single review!

If  anyone has seen this thread, you would know why.The TDV in my opinion is really just a big spam fest. Yeah yeah, spam isn't the worst thing ever. But the threats and the breaking friendships are. My friends (not saying names) have gotten Pm's saying "hey, I really want to win [insert jersey], could you please stop posting?" or "YOU STOLE MY JERSEY!!" which is just annoying and takes any fun away the TDV had in the first place. And, surprisingly, the TDV can really change a person. Maybe not real life wise, but it makes people act differently, like in the competition kind of mode. You don't really care what other people think of you at the time and the only thing your focused on is a colorful name and some virtual currency. Explain to me what's fun about that.

Friendships get torn apart, too. The people competing just become entirely different people and jealousy over takes them. I just...don't see the point in something like this. It gets tedious and repetitive way too fast, and it might be fun the first time, but it won't after awhile. If your willing to spend hours upon hours posting just to get some new text color, be my guest. 

Gingercream1 : Really? For me it is the exact opposite. It builds friendships. Why do you think I was such good friends with goodboy? We were TdV rivals. That is also how I became good friends with people like Razor, PixelBrick, marcus/Divine Aurora/whatever he wants to be called, Barathemos (yeah, we used to be pretty good friends), etc. I met almost all of my original friends by competing against them during the Tour de Vizzed.

tgags123 : I actually met one of my best friends during a VCS. In fact, I made a few friends during that competition. And I too began posting because of a posting competition, which lead me to make friends and become a part of the Vizzed community instead of just spending all of my time in the RGR. I also eventually started a fledgling game development company with said friends, so I'm very much found of the TdV and the like.

Basically, Vizzed is where I met the people that pushed me to pursue a dream career, and it now looks like that has set my life on the course it will take from here on out (the company we formed), so in a way, I guess you could say the VCS changed my life for the better. lol Or rather, God used it to set my life going in the right direction, because prior to that, I had no direction or plan for my life, and now I'm living my dream.

Gingercream1 : The competition was much more intense back then, actually. It was much harder. But I do see a difference between then and now. Back then (last July) people competed to have fun. Now it is all about being the best and winning.

You guys know what I am saying, right? Back then we all bonded over the TdV. It was a friendly competition. You can back me up when I say we probably wouldn't be friends if it wasn't for the TdV, right?

I can certainly say that I am looking forward to this TDV, I am intrigued to see how fierce the competition will be with the new rules put into place. For the most part I am hoping for some friendly competition and a lot more activity. Altogether though, I would really like for the whole mood of the TDV to be less negative and pessimistic, sure spam is annoying and it isn't permitted, but I don't think it is worth ruining the whole thing....what could be so bad about a little activity? 

I have enjoyed all of the TDV I have been a part of thus far, I have made many great friends and competitors along the way and I also enjoyed every minute of the competition itself. I am really looking forward to this TDV as well, If all goes accordingly, I might just try for yellow or red jersey.... 

I feel pretty deeply about it. It was the vibrant life of the board during the January TdV that kept me here. It was during that time that I made a BUNCH of friends, including you, tgags, and mohammedroxx3.

While the TdV is an ever improving competition, it plays a key role in many of the friendships and friendly rivalries formed on Vizzed. I hope to help keep it that way, and I also hope to see more quality members participate this time around.

As a staff member, I helped to the farthest extent that I could in the April TdV to catch users who used unfair methods of posting. I hope to do the same this time around. I want users to continue to report spam, but at the same time, I wish that many would take a lighter attitude. There are problems, and we're trying to fix that, but I think that several of the elites and trusted could afford to lose their jaded dismissal of the TdV and have some optimism. This is a competition for fun, after all.

So, here's another weird staff member who can't wait for the TdV.

Well....to be honest I look forward more to the new rules. But I did promise to complete next time around just for David. I might. Or just might not. Anyways tdv is tdv people can't change what the event is sadly. Even if it is a spam feast. I'll probably try to post but that's if I feel like it. :/

I actually am. This will be the first TdV with the new rules/ features, so I'm eager to see how it turns out.
As for competing, I might be interested in the team competition. I've had the most horrible luck the last few TdV's team wise, let's see if that will change. 

Of course, such competitions come with spam, but if we all combine forces that shouldn't be much of a concern.

tgags123 : Yeah, I agree! I didn't make any friends because of a Tour de Vizzed but the Tour de Vizzed caused some of my friends and I to become better friends. For example, Razor and I were competing in the July 2013 Tour de Vizzed a lot, we were replying to each other's posts, and we became better friends during that month. I should talk to him more... I keep forgetting to do that. :/

Wow, the opinions are very different. Some people say it's a big spam contest that causes friendships to tear apart, while others say that you can have a lot of fun and can make new friends.

I'm going to compete. Not every day, but when I feel like it and when I have the time. Last TdV I competed just one day, forgot the 50% rule and was DQ'ed. But it was sure fun to talk with the other members about the TdV.

I think it also might be great to make some new friends, it's the best way to meet people with your interests. I have met some people but so far I haven't befriended people by participating in the TdV. There are some members I would like to know better and I think the TdV might be an excellent way to do that.

And as most of you know, I'm a postaholic (see the Active/Online Users button) so I don't think I would make a bad chance at all.

But I do have to say....I did my first team competition. So its time to tell the story of how I met eid that day. eid was posting and me as usual. Just looking. Then the team competition was decided, it was the first letter of your name. So I was on team E. I didn't really care much but I did say that I would try. But something caught my eye....eid was posting despite holding the team alone. So I decided to keep an eye on him. He kept on going and going. And I was like wow....he sure is doing his best. I think I should lend him a hand. Team B was in the lead and yet eid was posting to catch up with them, as they has a good head start. I was surprised and couldn't believe what he was doing. So I posted and said you know what? I'm going to help team E just for eid working so hard...not only that he earned my help. Not only that a few others joined like eirinn. So we combined forces and made an extreme comeback. I posted and summoning eid saying well done need some help? He said sure. And you know when I step in things do change. I was bring out the best. As I won both red and yellow jerseys day by day. Though the tdv was coming to an end of the last week or in days. I was winning both red and yellow jerseys. Anyone who can remember would know. Then bara saw and well yeah. I felt team E should had won because we didn't spam on the last couple of days. But we came in second. I never felt such....excitement before. To be honest if there is a team competition then I would compete again. But I would like to be in the same team as eid. From then that's how we became friends. And due to me leaving after the tdv things....didn't go so well as our friendship departed. I enjoyed the team competition more.

I still can't believe how close we got in the team tournament. If I remember correctly, we had reduced a 100+ point lead into a 16 point one going into the final day.

"Then bara saw and well yeah." Lol, yup. That just about explains it. 2 Team B posters made 200+ posts in the span of an hour and a half on that last day.

Neither me, you, nor Eirinn averaged more than 5-6 posts an hour, so we just couldn't compete with that. Rough ending. =P

Nevertheless, all the team planning formed the basis for our friendship. More evidence to suggest that the TdV isn't exactly what it's reputed to be.

I guess you could say that I am mildly pumped. This time I will try not to get booted out of the green jersey on my first day I actually post for the competition. Hahahaha...ha. 

I haven't really participated in a while. Last time I fully participated was back in 2011. If I decide to do so than I'll try to make at least 20 post every other day. It's not much but perhaps it can help me get a little more competitive later on depending on who's participating. I don't mind a friendly challenge amongst friends.

Honestly, I'm not really sure. I am somewhat excited to see if David made any improvements to the TDV. But I'm not excited to see the whole board becoming more violent and less relaxed as the competition goes on. I may or may not at least go for one jersey for one day but I'm not quite sure how things will turn out.
