As some of you know, I've had plans on making a mobile version of vizzed for a while now and while development of it has been pretty slow, I do plan to release it this year. It has been one of the top requested features and I've never abandoned the project.

Now my question to all of you is, What would you like to see on it?

Keep in mind that it wouldn't allow you to play RGR games on mobile devices since that's not currently possible.

1. I would like it to be free.
2. I want to see the boards.
3. I want to be able to play some games. (Such as the arcade games that have apps)

Well I would like to see the board kind of like the way it is now. You could have a menu hidden to the side that could easily bring you to forums, the VGR, Twitch streams, the memberlist and even chat. That would be cool.

Your really going to release it by the end of the year?

Some possible suggestions:

>A selection of which forum you would want to post in. You could integrate some sort of seamless transition between the different forums. Having post layouts disabled may make it faster to post in as well.

>Links to Twitch streams possibly

>VGR. Would be nice to have info about games through your phone with the VGR.

>Mobile chat, I could imagine this being laggy but if it's possible it would be fantastic.

>The ability to donate through text message possibly. So it just charges our cell phone bill.

A mobile version of Vizzed is something I've been dreaming of for a while.

These are some things I'd enjoy to see in a mobile version of Vizzed.

I'd love to keep the Notification Center in a drop down menu, potentially with the (1)'s ticking up as alerts above it so people wouldn't have to keep checking.

The whole mobile browser thing is that they make the whole site smaller and centered to make it easier to scroll through and to not have constant moving around.

Would help to have smaller headers, and mobile profiles condensed somewhat into what they looked like before the update so as to reduce clutter. Just with basic information and statistics/titles the user has would be useful.

Also, since a few users have mobile data plans, the option to turn off images altogether to reduce amount of mb's they use per page would be fantastic.

Mod actions appreciated too, moving a thread and closing them are very slippery things to do when you're on mobile.

I assume what you plan on adding are the Board and VGR, which are great things to have on the go, and the Game Collection would be a big draw for mobile-only people who'd like to keep track of their games on their phones, it would cause a good bit of activity too.

Final thing, if you plan on making it an app too, I'd gladly pay a dollar or two, it would help things out a good deal. If you add in a few more features such as touch notifications on phones for PM's, Announcements, and Notifications, or anything else, it would be great. Making a lite version with the basics in the browser, and a bigger version in the Play Store or App Store with such features would really help the hardcore mobile users of Vizzed shine.

All I want out of a mobile version of Vizzed is the board.

Using Vizzed on my phone is inconvenient and messy, so I rarely do it.

Honestly, I hate mobile versions of  pretty much all websites. They are usually so useless and limited, I usually just end up switching to the desktop version anyway. So the only thing I ask is that it isn't simple and limited, and allows you to actually do the same things that you can do on the desktop version. I just don't want to have to go to the desktop version in order to do what I want.

One thing that I have been hoping for is an app, but the only reason I would want an app would be so that I could get alerts on my phone when I get a PM or a notification.

I would like it to be for android and apple phones so no everyone can not complain about being a app for that phone. One major thing that should be added is to save our wish-to-play game, how it works is simple, find a game you like to find click on wish-to-play and when you are on a computer that you can play it you go to that place on the game profile then play it. It would also be nice if it was free or at least be at $0.99 with some kind of friend chat box we could use for it.

Davideo7 : i think it could be possible if u make some separate emulator app that's compatible with the games so we can play our games on our phones. I think that could draw a lot of new users to vizzed.

For about three years, all I had to browse any site from was a phone, so I can tell you a lot of things that helped with mobile browsing, as well as the things that make some sites a pain from mobile.

Things that would be good for the forum itself

-The layouts of posts in the forums should only display messages. Removing the user info on the sides, and zooming in on the text so it'd be easier to read. The posting users name should be displayed above each post rather than beside it on mobile.

-Post Layouts should be blocked by default, as the font would need to be zoomed in on in order to make it easier to read, and the layout wouldn't be easy to make out (plus it just uses more data). Alternatively, the default font size could be increased. While pinch zooming should be possible, it shouldn't be necessary.

-The layout of the various forums needs to be changed for a mobile version. And while just making them a single column would work, it would be best to categorize them by the sections they're divided in, and probably make them a drop down menu, so clicking on them would reveal the forums contained therein. For example: Town Square, Vizzed Ville North, Gamers Circle, Entertainment Avenue, Vizzed.com, Vizzed Ville South, and Rented Forums would be displayed. If the user tapped on Gamers Circle then the Video Games, Video Game Franchises, Video Game Craziness, Pokemon, and Game Design / RPG Maker / Rom Hacking forums would either drop down, or a page with them on it would be loaded. I could give you an example of a site that does mobile forums very well, but I don't want to list it openly for advertising reasons.



Other features

-The VGR. This really needs to be present, and it should be included in a simple drop down menu along with a few other things (I'll list them later). Also the search bar needs to be left intact.

-The expanding game system selection feature needs to be removed from the mobile version, as it currently blocks the search bar on Mobile, which is more annoying than I can say. Instead they should be tucked away as a drop down selection.

-The wishlist and game collections need to be accessible and fully functional if possible.

-Notifications and PM's could be made into an overhead toolbar with counters. Tapping on these would cause them to drop down a list, or take you to a page for them (I prefer drop down lists on Notifications though).

-Chat needs to be reworked for Mobile. Especially allowing Mod actions if possible.

-Cometchat should be available if possible.

-User Profiles need to be dumbed down and zoomed in. Perhaps placing the user picture off to the right side of the screen, and displaying information in a single column going straight down, or offering tabs to break the profiles down into the following: Comments, Stats, Bio, and Viz (for gifting Viz).

-Finally, the menu I mentioned: A menu that contains links to the following: the VGR, The user's profile, PM inbox, Wishlist, Game Collection, and possibly the last section of the forum they had visited.


That's a lot, and I'm not saying it's the best way to do things, just that this is one way that sounds optimal to me personally.

1. The Board, You can already acces it on mobile devices, But it is really slow. Good thing if you are going to release it by the end of the year, By then I'll have my Samsung thing.


2. Like barathemos, Arcade games could be possible but hard.

All I would find neccesary would be the board and the chat room. Maybe the VGR.

For the board, disabling the layouts could help load faster. Also, like many others said, resizing stuff here and there could really help out.

On the mobile site, the main thing I want is easy access to the Forums/Board. Make things easier for posting on the go or what-not. Plus, it gives those who don't have computers at the time some activity.
The second probably would be a link to a mobile chat. For obvious reasons.
Lastly, maybe have phone notifications to ring you up when you get stuff like a reply to a thread, or even a PM. That could work.

The longshot would be maybe an Arcade Room. But that might take too much time as it is already.

To me, as long as it exists with at least one of these features I listed, I'm happy with it.

As long as the site's look does not change, and I can access the chat without it being laggy, I am happy.

Search GBA4IOS and make it a requirement to use it for RGR on mobile.

Full forum functionality. Tools mods would need to fully moderate while using the site.

Removal of layouts by default, with the option to show them if you wanted, or even make separate layouts for the mobile version to better fit the site's layout

Ability to browse rgr and tag games to be played on the desktop.
Add a filter to exclude a certain game from your search. (Try looking up homebrew for GBA. Pretty much all you get is pokemon)

Have the current ads removed and have popup ads that only show every 4 or 5 page views. That would speed up the page loading. Having ads constantly running really slows things down on low end devices.

Have a paid version to remove ads, or a cheaper paid version to reduce the frequency that the ads pop up.

My laptop broke so the only way i can currently access the site is on my crappy zte straight talk phone, and it really sucks, so hurry up with this

EDIT: I just realized I've been calling it an app when it's going to be a version of the site on mobile devices... lol

I'd like to see boards in a neat and clean way, so as to make posting easy and accessible from phones. Just, please, don't include custom layouts in the mobile version. I feel that would go badly.

Since the can't be any Retro Game Room game play, I would like for the app to be mostly social media. For an example, we can play in the Retro Game Room, and then mostly talk about it on the mobile app. We can also have debates about current subjects (Such as what you should do to make the mine craft lobby better for game play. 

I'd like to see and edit the boards and the posts also would like to be able to add games to our profile and spend our Viz points so we can hop right in to the game once we get home to computers. If possible make the games playable but I can understand that would be very difficult to do or perhaps the Smaller simpler games (nes, gb, Atari) playable. 

Although it is unlikely it would be awesome if a mobile version on this site could run the emulators!
