I know this sounds weird, but I am in the middle of High School, and I have never been bullied, although I liked crap like History, had only, like 7 or 6 friends in Elementary and now have 10, Always turned in my homework on time, and always got a A+ or B- on my tests, and thinking of applying for Harvard, and also never used crap like Instagram when I came in like, 2011 or 2012. I still don't use it because It is a rip off of both Vine and Facebook. But anyways, what was being bullied like?

The type of bullying I get were verbal and were really offensive, I felt really bad and angry. I usually left them alone though, not letting them have my slice of sadness.

I wasn't bullied often in my middle school life, and I hope that persists in High School though I got offended often. In elementary school, that's a different story. I was bullied in general just for my race, it's like they've never seen Asians often. They moved their eyes to make them wide and try that, or just made up words just to imitate some languages. Both middle and elementary, I got offended by some of the stuff they said. They ask stuff like, "Can you speak Asian?", "Are you Chinese or Japanese", "What's the difference between you all anyways", and stuff like that. They really need to be more knowledgeable about other races really.

I have never been seriously bullied like some of the unfortunate souls I have known that have it a lot worse. Sure I have been picked on or messed with once or twice, but I made a snappy comeback/remark and it shut them up really fast and that gave them the red flag not to mess with me anymore. I have adopted my own defense for this sort of thing, I always have something to say back when someone tries to be a jerk and say something smart...simply put, I am tired of other people's ignorance and I have had enough of this childish bullying...I can safely say that about 75% of the students in my grade are all neanderthals ad have about 1 working brain cell which only acts for them to be ignorant. It is because of the lack of intelligence that I put up with from others that I have developed this cold, detached personality...

Best thing to do with bullies if it ever happens to you is to just ignore them and let what they say just roll off, pretend it doesn't bother you and it will stop because if you let it bother you, they will keep doing it....of course if it gets really bad and they are verbally or physically abusing you, don't be afraid to attack them back because if you are always too afraid to do so, then you will always be the target....just keep this in mine for high school should you ever find yourself in this situation.

bostonblokhed1 : Well for me getting bullied was fun. Now I know that sounds very strange but heres the story...
So this girl named Glitter(Real name her mom was a druggy) called me a Pokemon loving whore one day...then she kept on going saying Id be a virgin till i have sex with my Pikaboo...(she knew nothing about pokemon) Then one afternoon she said that i was a s***. Having sex and giving blowjobs in the bathroom for 30 cents. So After Algebra I found her and I punched her in the throat.... When she fell to the ground I kicked her one good time in the face and then she lost a tooth... I got in alot of trouble with the school but hey...Glitter was also bulling other girls and calling guys fags..so i stood up for everyone....but this is an odd question because..How do you think bullying would feel? It doesnt feel good. Lol

I really have no Idea, I know it is in no way good, but I just wanted to know why, and I also realized I forgot to add in something: I was born in Canada, then Moved down to North Carolina, then moved to Massachusetts, First Amherst then Boston, and that Gave me 3 chances of being bullied, (2 because I was a new kid, and 1 was because I just plainly went to school in NC, but not in Canada, Because I moved down after I was 1 month old. ) But  the closest to Bullying I ever got was this retarded girl who obviously had alcoholic parents and also a alcoholic brother, just kept on pissing me off yelling at me every day,24/7, " WHY U NO HAVE  POKEMON SOULSILVER!?" (It was the newest one at the time.) but that Glitter girl sounded hilariously retarded tho.

I was bullied. And it...wasn't nice for me because of how the way I was born. I never understood why I was being bullied. Being bullied has made me what I am today. I wasn't able to fight for myself so I just kept quiet. Whenever I was back home I would lock myself up in my bedroom feeling safe. Then I knew the next day was school again. There were times I never wanted to go to school because of the mistreatment that I had. It wasn't fun for me at all....its not easy to ignore what they say as it is the truth. But letting offensive words get to you and more can be bad. As I saw it they were jealous. Because I had something that they didn't have, so they bullied me for it. So I felt happier and safer at home....my only wish was to make friends who liked me for who I am, despite the way I was born. That happened when I came to vizzed. But this didn't happen straight away. So I am happy I have friends who love me for who I am. And when I feel down they can cheer me up. That's what friends are for. So after the bullying. It made me not want to socialize with people in real life, because of how they can be. First I was bullied by boys. Next was girls and both of those groups attacked my appearance wise and more. Things now are not as bad as it was in the past. Its a lot more better for me but....I still think back in the day when I was bullied and how things were. For my bulling it was for years....thats something most people would not be able to handle...

I know that bullying is not in any way fun, but anyways, I actually don't know why I'm not bullied. Probably because it will bite back in the future.
but I will remember this thread just in case to remember not to take advantage of things.

I won't make an 1000+ word post this time cause I already made an huge post about this matter on a thread that is similar to this one. But anyways, yeah I was bullied pretty badly and that has caused me to become an bully myself. I use to get picked on a lot and I use to cut class in the bathroom to avoid those bullies.

It's was ok... i mean like it wasnt awesome.
only time i got bullied was 4th grade. the kid pushed me over the edge one day during class, so i punched him in the nose really hard. the crazy thing was that he got suspended for a few days and i got away clean since other kids told the teacher that i was being bullied for awhile haha (sometimes you gotta return the "favor" to the bullies just to teach 'em a lesson and make it stop)

and uhhh I became a bit of a bully myself in High School, but only to the people who deserved it. I was like a Bully who bullied the other bullies.

I used to go in a school where pretty much half my class turned against
me lead by 2 girls and they did nothing but bullying me and causing me
emotional pain day in and day out sometimes it even resorted to violence (although rarely). And even one of the teachers turned against me. For
the most part no one was actually taking me seriously if I tried to talk to a teacher about it.

When I
tried to avoid them or get them to stop they would only go even more out
of their way to make me feel like a tiny piece of s***. When I one day
got angry I decided to hit them back which resulted in everybody at my
school calling me "that one guy who beats girls" even though the girls
in question started it and were both taller and bigger then me.

Honestly
if I had the choice I would've rather been bullied by 2 guys who beat
me each day instead at least then I could fight back and maybe even get
them to stop considering physical bullying would probably be a lot easier
to report (not saying that physical bullying isn't bad as well that's
only what I would prefer). I was thinking of taking my own life and
would've probably tried taking my own life if I wasn't too much of
coward and couldn't "grow a pair" to do so. It eventually ended with me
pretty much breaking down crying in front of my mom who I then went on to
tell about it even though I had try to hide it from her as best as I
could figuring she would think it was silly just as most people on my
school would. Luckily for me I started going to another school later
which is not perfect but it sure is a lot better then that hellhole.

So yeah to answer your question again it feels awful and it was pretty much my only source of real life social interaction during that time so after a while I started to believe the things they said causing me to become extremely depressed and feel worthless and in turn making me have suicidal thoughts. Had she not found out I might've not even been alive today.

When I was little, a lot of people teased me about being fat. I don't know if that is considered bullying, or if that's just me being a whiner, but either way, it made me really self-conscious.

When I got to middle-school, I was terrified of people calling me fat, so I did not eat at school and I did 200 sit-ups every night after school.
I was really scared that somebody would see me eating and make fun of me. Nobody liked me, regardless. A girl in one of my classes reported to the principal that I had threatened to stab her, when I absolutely did not, which resulted in my mom putting me in a charter school.

Once I got into high school, boys would make fun of me for having short hair and they would tell me I was ugly. I wore make-up to school once and a boy explained to me how he was relieved that I didn't look as ugly.

I really don't know if all of this is considered bullying, because lots of people have it a lot worse than I did.

I just graduated this year and I was bullied since fourth grade up until my graduation. The bullying I endured was the average physical bullying and a lot of verbal. The physical bullying went from girls pulling my hair to boys hitting my butt. I told the administrators, but to no avail. Due to my dad's job, we never stayed in one place much. Mostly around the west but there was a few states in the east we stayed at for a while. I guess since I was the new kid, the administrators believed the old students when they said they didn't do it rather than believing me when I said they did do it. The verbal bullying I could list forever: No life, idiot, retard, many vulgar words, I could go on, but I wont. Over time, I just accepted that bullying was going to be a part of my life. So, I just put up with it until graduation. I just learned to take the bullying and not react to it. You know when people say "When a bully is bullying you just laugh or ignore it, because they just want a reaction."? Yeah, in my case.. That's not true.
Catwoman : That old quote has never been true, don't know who came up with it. Dealing with bullies you can either ignore like you did and go through crap for a long time and potentially damage your personal growth and self esteem. Or you can verbally humiliate them back or in boys case you can do that and/or kick their asses then it stops. Also school admins and teachers are useless for help so don't even bother.

There is a gang of idiots at our school that all the shallow girls flock to and all the wanna-be jocks try to hang out with. Naturally, they get this "imma god" mentality. I am about the most average guy you can meet. I play 2 sports, am in band class, attend 2 advanced classes. Extremely well rounded, with basically 2 sets of friends. The smart/brainy/gamer kind and the physically active kind. My defense I developed unknowingly was to make myself nearly impossible to bully. Obviously not the best way to handle it, but I guess that's what  I did.
Well, one time they decided to pick on my best friend. He is a male, 5'1'' jew with the super curly, short hair. Genius though, strait A's with 2 advanced classes. Joined the robotics club, and I've known him since pre-school. I basically love the guy (im strait, pro gay though). Basically a prime bully target, and I'm honestly surprised he wasn't targeted earlier. They made fun of his religion and told him they wished his grandparents had died in WWII (they had escaped Poland, his dad came to the school and talked about it during the WWII segment). I found him crying in the bathroom. I told the kids not to mess with them again. As you would imagine, they didn't like some "nobody" like me who didn't have a reputation at school stand up to them and fortunately they started bullying me instead of my friend. I reported them to a teacher the next day and a few of the kids got suspended. Since then my friend and I have always had a form of grudging respect from the bullies and we have carried on our lives since then.
Well, after that pointless story I should suggest what to do against bullies.
Step 1) Report it to an official. Teacher/principle/counselor or any adult. They might not do much (as you most likely wont have evidence) but it will put the kids on their radar
Step 2) Don't give them satisfaction. I'm not saying don't let it affect you, but simply don't give them power over the situation.
Step 3) Forget them. If it is verbal abuse, then they can screw off. It can't affect your physical life. Why should you care what they think about you? Why should you look at what they say in such a negative way? It's not like they mean anything.
If it is physical, refer to step 1. Teachers may not do much on verbal abuse, but physical abuse is "crossing the line" (I think that is stupid, considering how verbal abuse is the most common, and the most harmful of all bullying) but hey, at least the teachers will do something about it.
I wish I could give better advice but I really don't have much experience to tell anyone who is being bullied to do anything other than the basics :/

Verbal bullying was never that bad for me because I've never cared what people have said about me. The physical bullying...... I've been mugged a lot, and people have tried to jump me SO many times but it's not that bad.

EDIT: Forget It. I just had to go to Austin, Texas to visit Family I never seen before, and most of the people there LOVE to be 100% Arsehats. A  group of 3 decided to pick on me because of my accent, both by mimicking it and also just Kicking me for no reason, and in return, They walked home with High-Pitched, 2-year-old-with-helium-accents. and some Red Spots. But right now I am on my way back and in Missouri, so, they Can't Continue

Being bullied was horrible for me because I couldn't stop it unless I told a teacher, which I typically didn't do because I didn't want bullies to get mad at me and secretly bully me later. Also, sometimes when I tried to stop it, I got teased. I got bullied a little bit in 3rd grade by one person, a lot in 4th grade by a few people (because one of my friends wasn't in any of my classes), a little bit in 5th grade by one person, and a little bit in 6th grade (I don't know how many people did it). I got bullied a lot by a few people in 7th grade, which was the worst. That year, I was trying to become one of the so-called cool people and I ended up just drawing more attention to myself, making myself feel horrible, and getting bullied more than I ever did. I didn't try very hard because I wanted to keep some parts of my great personality, which I successfully did. I made two friends that year. One of them moved at the end of that school year and one of them became my worst enemy. In 8th grade, I attempted to redeem myself, and I got a new friend (a girl! not my girlfriend and I don't want a girlfriend for at least two years) by doing that. I didn't get bullied at all in 8th grade, but I did get teased a couple times, which didn't affect me.
