Where did you go on your first date?

I went to a theme park.

My heart was racing and the person I was with just looked gorgeous.

was it them or the rides that made my heart thump thump thump.

The worst was going for a drink with someone, they tried way to hard to impress me and it was just shameful, never again will drinks be a first date for me ever.

I went to Vans Warped Tour 2007 with my girl.
Most of the girls i dated has great taste in music
and for girls like that my great spot for a perfect
date is in Vans Warped Tour. It was one of the
luckiest days of my life. Being with the first girl I
ever had, watching great bands play in the line up,
tons of amazing people, and my first stage dive in
a concert. So if your girl likes maybe Pop-Punk, Post
Hardcore, or Metalcore try bringing her to Vans Warped
Tour because that where the awesome musics as.

I went to the movies with my first boyfriend.
I was 13 and his mom drove us.
He tried to hold my hand in the car and I was too embarrassed.

We went to get burgers at a place with arches, not the most romantic place you might say, but we like the ice cream and did not have much money, after we went for a walk along the park. Our romance lasted about 1 day, we neve spoke again and ignored each other at schoo.

My first date? A real one? Hmmm.... I got to think when my first "real date" was... I think it was after I got out of the Army. I met somebody through a site ( the same that my aunt met her husband on ). We talked for a few weeks, and I finally got enough courage to ask her out. She said yes, so I asked my step-mom if I could borrow the car, since I had the money for the date and gas, and she said yes. So, I drove the hour and half to get her, and I took her to a Seattle Mariners baseball game. I ended up buying a pair of "front row seats" tickets, and they were front row all right... upper level. I spent $75 on them together. Stupid me. So, right before the game started, I upgraded to 4th row seats along the right field foul line for another $18 per ticket. I bought us both a soda, something to eat, and Garlic Fries ( it is a Seattle Mariners Home Baseball Game thing... every team has a food thing ). I even payed for parking that was right across the street that cost me $20. After the game, I stopped at a fast food joint that she wanted for a bite to eat, before taking her back to her college dorm. After about a week of taking after that... I never heard from her again.

All in all, I spent about $190 for the food, tickets, parking, and gas. Totally was not worth it. She wouldn't even let me be a gentleman.

For my first date my boyfriend's mom picked us up and his little sister tagged along. We went to a skating rink, it was pretty fun.. When I got there I told him I couldn't skate and that hadn't had much experience with it. He held my hand and helped me navigate all throughout the place, never letting me fall once. He tried to help me learn but it was unsuccessful, lol. That aside we had a great time. His sister and I tried to help each other learn to skate when he had left us to skate alone for a little while. He came back and saw us clinging to the sides of the rink he laughed. We laughed too. After a while of skating, and beating him in a basketball arcade game (yes!) I'd buy him a pair of shutter shades and his sister a robot necklace. Pretty soon after that we'd leave so that I could meet his dad and hang around their house for a little while.

My first date with my now wife was back in the late 90s.  I told her nothing except to wear 'grippy' shoes.  We went to a park area that was quiet.  I walked her through a path that went through woods, along a tunnel next to a river that ran under bridge for train tracks and we scrambled up the side of the embankment.  She and I hung out and talked, faces in the sun, along the train tracks for an hour.  We waved at a passing engineer when a train came rumbling by.

I helped her back down and we sat on the swings a while.  Then we went to Red Lobster, which is fancy if you're 17 and you are on a date with a girl.  My now wife impressed me by eating an entire cheddar biscuit in one bite.  I was in love at that point.  I took her home and we ended up dating more after that.

It wasn't about the location, it was the connection.  We went somewhere we could take and not be distracted.  It worked nicely.

blasife : Well, I was going to take her to a restaurant in Seattle that I had heard of that was supposed to be really good, but she mentioned something about Baseball and her father taking her every year. He hadn't taken her in a couple of years, so I thought I would take her.

Consider i had my first date when i was 14 we literally went to the local town centre and did some shopping for clothes and then we as most kids did decided that it would be cool to meet up on the local park and have some alcohol as most teenagers do these days..

It went pretty well considering i was a 14 year old teenager with no previous dating experience.

If we are on about actual proper dates i took my Ex Girlfriend to a beach and then we just relaxed and had fun and talked about a lot of things we were both interested in. Usually just talking to my lover is enough for me to consider a date a success, We both had a lot of fun and for once it was not raining in England so that also helped a lot

After that well i can not tell you kids lol

thing1 :  I can't imagine having ANY date (first or otherwise) that cost that much... wow!  I'd feel so weird going to such a big event as a date... I'd probably feel pretty darn special, too.   Especially since I've never done anything like that before.

warmaker :  I didn't know your wife was the first (and only?) person your dated!  That is just way too awesome!!!!  (Especially since I know how in love with her you are.)

My first date was a doozie for me.  My parents had said I couldn't date until I was 16, and I never really thought anyone would be interested in dating me. Back then, I wasn't even vocal enough for people to know my name. However, I did tutor this one boy and after a year or so, his mother made him ask me out on a date.  I was shocked and just full of teen butterflies, I guess.

He set the date for February 13th, which I thought was odd.  I thought that maybe he was too nervous to set it for Valentine's Day because he didn't want me to think a whole lot of it or... something.

Anyways, I was almost 17 and I thought my mom would be really upset.  However.. she really made everything just... awesome for me. I was really nervous and she helped me look nice, messed with my hair.... and then almost made me cry.  See, he pulled into the drive almost an hour early, and we hadn't expected that.  My mom had been wanting to give me a present, but due to his early arrival, she wasn't able to do it in the manner she wanted to. I was standing at the door, ready to open it, when my mom presented me with these beautiful.... beautiful earrings. My parents never had a lot of money, so any jewelry I had was given to me from my grandparents.  I was stunned beyond words and wanted to cry.  She told me I was beautiful and then he was ringing at the doorbell.

Well, when I opened the door, I was stunned yet again. There was my date..... in socks and out of breath!  I was so confused that it took me a moment to gather what he was saying.  He told me that he had thought Feb 13th was Valentine's day and that he didn't want to take me out 'today'..... he wanted to take me out tomorrow.

Talk about bummer, right?

I did go out with him the next day. We went to a movie theater to see "50 First Dates" and then we went to eat at.... I want to say Applebee's, but I'm pretty sure that's not it.  I think that's what the building NOW is.  Anyways.... although I now understand that 50 First Dates is rather mild.... you have to understand that: a) I had only been to a movie theater once in my life, and I was 5 at the time.  b) My parents really, REALLY sheltered us.

I probably looked like this while watching the movie:

I just kept thinking how upset my mother would be if she knew I was watching it! haha!

To boot.. I had never... ever been in a sit down restaurant.  His mother went with us (I don't remember where she was during the movie) and I was super nervous.  I didn't know how to act or behave, and I thought of restaurants as being super fancy. I thought there would be certain utensils you should use at certain times.... that maybe there were social stigmas I was supposed to abide by... etc etc. I was afraid to make a move or eat, for fear of being laughed at.  So I carefully watched them and mimicked whatever they did. XD  If they ate bread first... I ate my bread. If they used a spoon, I used a spoon.  ha!

When the meal was done and we got up to leave, I was really shocked. As we were walking away, I felt a small panic rise in me and glanced back.  "Aren't we supposed to throw away the trash and wash the dishes?"

So much for my stealthiness, right?  I almost got away with the impression of knowing stuff.

So yeah.. at 17, that was my first date.

I did date the guy 3.5 years before realizing what a jerk he was... but that's not a story for here and now.

I went for a date and got some ice cream and we sat for ages with a milkshake which we shared but not the same straw. I never saw them again after that, think we had nothing in common.

Wow, some of these posts are amazing first dates. I think now of the time I was 'taken' to dinner, well I say 'taken' as I had to pay half the bill, and guess what I ordered a salad and he sat there cracking his way through a lobster!

I was 16 when I went for my first date. My boyfriend, now ex-boyfriend, took me to Chinese restaurant and he also paid the bill. It was actually kind of romantic. But later on he turned out to be annoying person and I almost started to hate him because of his attitude, so I ended our relationship. I think it was a very good decision to end it, because now I can be that kind of person who I want to be.

I went to the typical traditional movie theater, can't really recall the movie as it really wasn't that important, I remember the girl she was more nervous than I, more twitching than a June bug in the month of June, it was a pretty uneventful first date, which statistically speaking most dates are, as the majority could tell you haphazardly hilarious stories of what they wore, or how they acted.

I think I was 16 and we went to a very expensive restaurant. I paid and we had a very nice time and dated for years.
