This game is a real hidden gem from Sega. I have played the other 2 asterix games for this series and this one is by far the best. This game is under appreciated.  I would say that this game in actual game play is superior to sonic for the same system though it was nowhere near as popular.

The graphics are very good for master system. This was one of the later games so its kind of expected. Very colorful and  the enemies and characters look very much like those in the comics.
The music is very nice it is atmospheric and has a real Asterix theme to it, some of the best on the system id say.

It is a addictive game, the levels can be challenging but they are not overly difficult and you can get lives and extra powerups fairly easily so its not too hard. Id say you wont get bored because it is challenging and the levels have good variety.

The story is that Getafix has been kidnapped by Romans a common theme in the comics and you must rescue him to secure the magic potion or the village is doomed. Its fairly simple.

There is good depth in this game. The levels are challening there is good variety and the ability to choose Asterix or Obelix for each level make replayabilty possible There are many power-ups and bonus levels just like in Mario where you can get coins, potions bones and lives. The Dogmatix bonus stage is a nice touch too.

The difficulty is moderate to hard, its not too bad if you watch what you are doing. The final stage was not very hard which was a bit of a disappointment

Overall this is a very  fun solid platformer it is a underrated gem which deserves more recognition and I recommend you play  this rather than  the other 2 Asterix games on this series which I didnt think were very good. I cant speak for Asterix on other systems as I havent played many Asterix games on those.  Great game
