So today (4/18/14) I got a PS2. I want to get Mega man X5 (which I HATE Mega man X5 but I love the music) and I want to get other mega man games. The systems I own are: DS, DSi, 3DS, Wii, Sega Genesis, N64, and the PS2? Now some of you might wonder: "is this person a Guy or a Girl?" well I am a Gamer Girl and a HUGE FAN of mega man. So that's why I want to get a mega man game because I am a fan of Mega man and of coarse I like Zero and Bass (the two robots that were made by Dr.Wily and wasn't destroyed.) so, what mega man game should I get?

RMJEtheReploid : Looks like we're the only two girls to like Megaman then.

You could get the Megaman X Collection on PS2, which has the first six X games on it.

Megaman X7 and X8 are on PS2. They are both nowhere near as good as the first six. In fact, X7 is just plain awful, but X8 is good.

Also on PS2 is the Megaman Anniversary Collection, which has the first eight Megaman games and also both fighting games.

On MegaDrive(Genesis), there is Megaman The Wily Wars, which is a compilation of the first three Megaman games with updated graphics and a save feature.

The Megaman Battle Network games are all on Game Boy Advance, which can be played on a DS. So is the Megaman Zero series.

The Megaman Zero series has it's own sequel in the form of Megaman ZX, which is one of the few that I haven't played. ZX is on the DS, also on the DS is Starforce, a successor to Battle Network and the Zero Collection, containing all four Zero games.

Finally, on PlayStation and N64, there is Megaman legends, though it's called Megaman 64 on N64. Haven't played either. There's also it's prequel, The Misadventures of Tron Bonne.

And...I think that's everything you can get.

My favorite is the Battle Network series. It is a good action RPG and is worth a try.

I'd go with the anniversary collection. Lots of great megaman games on there. Also, congrats on the ps2, it is a great console with many great games. Also, if you own a gameboy, I'd suggest checking out the Mega man Battle Network series for GBA and the Mega man Star Force series for DS (if you own a DS). They're all very good. Great gameplay, great story. If you have any questions about them, let me know.

It depends on the type of game you like. If you like scrolling platform, then you can choose from one of the classic, X, Zero or ZX series.

If you like 3D adventure ones where you have to go through a long story to win the game, then you can choose from Legends, Battle Network, or Star Force.

The classic one is the original gotta love it one. It doesn't offer as much as the X, Zero, or ZX series, but it's a lot easier (especially if you're good at button mashing).

X has a little more to offer since you can upgrade X with parts (a lot more in the latter X series).

Zero is a little more involved than X when it comes to plot, since it has more of a storyline. It's a little harder than X, though.

Idk much about ZX, but there's more in terms of storyline than in the previous 3. also, the use of bio metals gives the player abilities of bosses and allies in the X series.

Legends...I personally don't like it, but if you like a game where you walk around in a 3D world and fight enemies, then try this one.

Battle Network, my personal favorite, has a good storyline. You can jack into the Internet and stop net crime.

Star force is like Battle Network, but instead of being in a computer, you travel around the real world similarly to BN.

A lot of people disregard it because it's a different genre from the others but aside form the Megaman X series you should get Megaman X Command Mission.

It's an RPG but it's really fun and more strategical.

Also others have recommended this but Megaman Battle Network is also and amazing series. The best is probably number 5 because you can play as either Protoman or Colonol and many other navis depending on which version you get.

The ZX series is also good if you want something different from the Megaman X series.

In terms of specifics, a few come to mind: Megaman: Maverick Hunter X, Megaman: Powered Up, and Megaman X: Command Mission. The first two are standard Megaman games, with the exception of the Powered Up being a "chibi" type version of Megaman. The third game is a little bit different, and mixes in Megaman, and RPG elements. The game is really fun, and I remember playing it with my friend very frequently on his GameCube. Oh, that reminds me. The first two are exclusive to the PSP (I think), and the third is on PS2 and GameCube.
