Hello, everybody! I return today with yet another thread in the Stories/Simulation/Art forum! This time around, I will be briefly going over an important topic that appears just out of our reach these days - optimism and being positive! I hope all of you readers enjoy, and feel free to reply with your opinions on this matter - I love feedback! Sit back and enjoy the thread, and make sure to keep that smile on your face !

"I really like NintendoFanKimmy's positivity. She always seems happy!" -supernerd117

I am well-known by my friends in real life for my seemingly constant cheery attitude. I am proud of that - optimism is essential for me, especially in the series of events I've had to deal with. I cannot even begin to describe how thankful I am for my natural optimism - I am nearly always in a fantastic mood! Especially recently, I have been seeing the light side to every dark one, and it really, really helps me in the long run! My friends and family literally call me the light bulb that never goes off! Now, to get to why being positive is important.

"Laughter is the best medicine ." -Unknown

Whoever first said that laughter is the best medicine was right - it really, really is! Proof? Let me tell you a story. A relative of mine suffered a disease long ago that practically destroyed his entire liver. What exactly did he do about it? He told himself that he was going to make it, and that it's absolutely nothing to worry about. I cannot even imagine how I would be able to pull through said situation if I were in his shoes. Not a chance! No way, no how! Now, what if gets put to the test? That could be a whole different story. This relative of mine, liver-less, is certainly not lilly-livered - no, siree! He remains positive all the time, and he's still chugging! Not only chugging, but chugging well, too! A vital organ of his is lost, just gone. He should have died twenty years ago! But he didn't. And he's still alive and well today. Why? Optimism. To get scientific, the parts of your brain that generate feelings such as happiness, sadness, perseverance, pity, trust, love, jealousy etc. produces chemicals. Vibrant chemicals sent to all parts of the body generated form pure belief of success. Hope works miracles, everybody. It really, really does!

"Thanks, Kimmeh. Your happiness baffles me, but keep it up." -Mr. Zed

I still haven't gotten around to why exactly I'm always grinning from ear to ear. It's wonderful to be so easily happy, but keep in mind that you must still keep your wits about you at all times and remain sharp - don't always expect the absolute best things to happen. Keep an optimistic outlook, but don't be knocked silly; there's a difference between being positive and being carefree! Be wary of any mishaps lurking about, but enjoy yourself and have a good time all the same! I'm proud to be naturally positive all the time ^^.

"Kimmy makes everything bright when the world goes dark." -sonicthehedgehog57

I have gained quite the reputation at home and at school for being a mood-brightener to everyone and even a psychological therapist to my friends. I'm regarded as a happy-go-lucky person most of the time, and a lot of the time that's true, but keep in mind that I am aware of my surroundings and acknowledge what pain and misery feels like. Being positive seems difficult at first - especially if you've been living your life as a pessimist or have been guilty for drastic deeds for a long time - at first glance, but it's not that hard. Once you think about it, optimism is a powerful ideology that makes you feel much more comfortable about everything, and especially yourself. Being a positive character will earn you more friends for sure! No one likes a stick-in-the-mud or a drama queen, now do they? People like a bouncy, upbeat person who spices up the atmosphere upon walking through the first doorway.

"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." -Oscar Wilde

I adore this quite almost as much as I adore optimism itself. Based on its meaning, it's trying convey one important message - all of us are stuck in the same whole mess, but some of us make better things out of it than others. That is something to think about. Once you take everything into consideration, we are all residents of a fraction of a dot in a universe that is expanding at increasing acceleration by the second. Are the problems we have really worth making a deal over? Not when you can be positive and tell life you made the best of it once it's over, right? I think so, at least.

"All of us are residents of dear planet Earth, and we all have the power to get where we want to. Some us, though, have just not found the fuel to generate that power yet, and that fuel is optimism." -NintendoFanKimmy

We all have it, guys. But some of us haven't cranked the ON button yet.

I totally agree with this. Everyone needs a little optimism. Whenever I'm in any type of bad situation, I just decide it's going to get better. You know what happens next? It gets better.
