Not sure if this is the right forum, but there is a Politics sub-forum so I am putting it here.

There is this really cool website called iSideWith. It has you answer a bunch of questions then tells you which political parties you side with on most issues.

I will post my results at the end. They are pretty much what I expected, though I thought the Democrat would be a little bit less.

The other 2 (it doesn't show the bottom 2) were Green Party (8%) and Socialist (0%).

I just took it and got

98% Green Party

94% Democrat

67% Socialist

62% Libertarians

19% Republican

I guess that reflects well. I do like the Green Party pretty well, Jello Biafra is part of the Green Party. Anyone that knows me knows I believe in Anarcho-Communism but support almost any Anarchist movement. This is a fun little game though.

Guess I'm the elephant in the room...or in this case the donkey(donkey because its the symbol of the Democrat party) lol

 

I'm hesitant to post here, because I hate the division political parties bring in the US. I don't want this to affect how anyone thinks of me.

Some of you might be surprised by this, I surely was. Nifty website, by the way.



Edit - Now that I looked into it, I think it's the science questions that really tipped me over.

I got no match found, twice.
Hardly surprising, I dont particularly care for any U.S party's.
Although the elections are so biased that the only party's who will probably ever get in are the republicans or democrats.
I hardly think the two are that different.

I won't post the image, but here were my results

Democrat - 86%
Green Party - 84%
Libertarians - 69%
Socialist - 54%
Republicans - 51%

For a brief breakdown, I side with Democrats on enviornmental, social, domestic policy, and science issues. I side with Green on several of the same issues as I do with Democrats. With Libertarians, I side with them on domestic policy, foreign policy, healthcare, and education issues. Socialist on social and foreign policy. Republicans on only healthcare and education.

Only reason I can see any republican in me is because I'm heavily opposed to Obamacare.

Had this been a few years ago, the results would have been different. At some point, I stopped accepting the information I was being fed and started thinking for myself.

Still, I wouldn't want to commit myself to any one party. Knowing the politics here, I've become apolitical for the most part.

Decided to go with a less condensed version to show off more details. I'm a little surprised how "democratic" I lean, considering how I answered some questions, but I'm also not that far from Green Tea Party either.

I've been a registered Libertarian since I turned 18, and I voted for Gary Johnson in 2012, so the fact that I identify most with Libertarians does not surprise me at all. I am a bit surprised that I matched 75% with Green Party ideals, though.

I believe that the government restricts freedoms too much, and that as long as it doesn't impact the freedoms of another person, our actions should be nearly unrestricted. Basically, decriminalize all drugs, stop policing the internet, remove us from the Middle East and discontinue all wars unless we are invaded or attacked (or there is serious threat of an invasion or attack), decrease military spending, increase spending on education and science (particularly space exploration and alternative energy).
I don't agree with everything Libertarians say, though. There should be some control on firearms, particularly for dangerous criminals. There does need to be some minimal regulation of the market, or we'll have another recession on our hands soon. Anyone who is in this country illegally in any way, regardless of their motherland, needs to apply for citizenship or a temporary visa, or be deported. Any non-citizen felons who are in this country, legally or otherwise, need to be deported. On the same note, we should offer incentives to immigrate for people who are potential high earners, or people who can contribute to this country economically, socially, scientifically, etc.
As for my stand on ObamaCare: it's a good idea, but it is being executed horribly. It needs to be repealed and redrafted. Social medicine has worked well in other nations and it can work well here, but ObamaCare as it stands is not the way to do it.

I am really surprised at all of the Democrat results (except for Leggy). I really thought that there would be more people on the Republican side.

I did not expect this at all, I expected some to be much higher while others to be much lower. I'm surprised that all of them were so close together.

zanderlex : Wow. Usually there is a distinct difference. It's kind of neat that all of yours are so close together. Would you mind sharing which you thought were going to be higher and which you thought were going to be lower? I'm curious.

tgags123 : It's not that I actually thought that a specific one would be higher or lower, it's just I looked at others and I saw some beyond 90% and others below 20% so I thought my results would be similar.

I think I'm an economically-minded green-thumb when it comes to the environment rather than a green-thumbed economist, and I think I side with the libertarians on gun control rather than the Republicans, but 2 things only off by a little bit? Good quiz.

There was another quiz I took in the past that was much longer and more detailed but I can't remember where it was. It took about an hour to finish, and the results on that one had me listed as a "pure centrist libertarian". If I find it I'll post it.

Cool, please do. I enjoy political philosophy, and these quizzes make aware those underlying principles.

Overall the quiz said I tend to side with Democrats on most political issues. I agree with the quiz 100% because I had a good idea of what political party I favored the most. Anyways here is the full results-

Hmm... Yeah, I would say that fits me. I'm definitely a Democrat, I side with the environment, and I'm not really Republican or Libertarian or Socialist.

But in a way it doesn't fit me... I didn't really fill out some of the questions (I don't have too much time on my hands right now). I would say Eidetic's score would be accurate for me.
