Well, that depends on how fast you both post. He has been fairly active recently. Probably a month or 2.... hard to know really.

Honestly, the best way seems to be to spend time in the chat room. After that, be an active poster that makes good quality posts.

And if you see a chance to offer help to other members then do it. Quite often that will get you some points.
