So I'm trying to find this classmate who's first and last names I remember clearly!
However, when I search for him on Google and Facebook, nothing comes up for him!
Not even other people with his name!

Why?

What might have happened?

It could be that they aren't on a social networking site, you could try searching for some of his friends if you can remember any, if they are on a social networking site they may be able to pass on a message. If this doesn't work try searching for his school/ college on facebook and go from there.

Memory is a fickle thing, indeed.

It may be that what you remember as his first name is actually his middle name. It's happened to me before. The guy's real first name was Wilford, but he went by his middle name 'James' instead. I didn't know until after he had graduated.

But it's more likely that you've made a spelling mistake. That would explain the complete lack of results from both of those sites. It's almost guaranteed that his name appeared -somewhere- on your school's website and Google picked it up.

But there's always that small chance he joined the Men In Black.

Another question. Why do people just ''read'' things on Facebook?

So recently, I've privately messaged two girls who looked familiar and whose names sound familiar from camp, afterschool, and elementary school years ago.

I sent them each a private message on Facebook, politely asking if they went to these places with me, they look familiar and have names that sound kinda familiar, and that I'm looking for my classmates & old friends to catch up with them (because I really am!).

I also told them its ok if I'm mistaken & for them to just let me know.

I know they saw my messages because the messages have ''Seen At'''s on them.

So why did they just read my messages and not respond?

Are they trying to tell me they are not sure?
Are they trying to tell me they went there, but they don't remember me?

What's so hard about just typing, ''Nope. Sorry. I think you're mistaken.'' or ''I did, but why don't I remember you?!'', honestly?
What's the deal here?

Maybe they see you as a spammer/fake account who just sends mass pm's to annoy people, or they're just feeling so lazy to respond to someone whom they're not so close with. Some people don't add others easily either, they might have remembered you but don't wanna add you in facebook, so they just ignored your message instead of upsetting you if they declined. There are many possibilities out there.

The person is not on facebook, atleast not on his real name and has not done anything that would have his or her name to be on the internet.
