If it is a song that I like, I will listen to it a ton, making it old to me. One of them that I remember is 21 guns. As soon as I found that song, I listened to it for 5 hours straight.

It of course matters what genre of music it is, but yes usually i play it a whole lot.

Oh yeah. New songs from my favorite artists are like my drug for the first month or so they come out. 

I basically spend a bunch of my free time creating playlists that revolve around the single track. 

Yeah, I'm pretty intense about my music.

I listen to a lot of songs that are new to me, but old to the rest of the world. I'm always discovering all kinds of new music. Granted, some of it just came out last week, but some of it has been around for decades and I still enjoy it.

I guess I should first ask what you mean by new song. It could mean a song that you just heard fo the first time, or a it could also mean a song that was released recently.

If you are referring to songs that were released recently, I would so no because I often dont go out of my way to listen to a newly released song, as I prefer classic rock and 90s rock.


If you are referring to a song you just heard for the first time and liked, then it really depends on the song.

Sometimes I get a song stuck in my head and I have it on repeat for a week straight, and sometimes I listen to it maybe 1 or 2 more times and then Im satisfied.

I know when I discovered radiohead they were on repeat for like 3 months straight, but unfortunately I overkilled it and I havent gone out of my way to listen to radiohead in a good while.

I listened to the Arcade Fire album The suburbs on repeat for a good month or 2. I blended that with their other albums, funeral and neon bible, so it wasnt so overkill like it was for radiohead.

It really depends on if I have a song stuck in my head for several days in a row, or if it changes to something else the following day, that will determine what I want to listen to that day, whatever is stuck in my head at the time (but only if I like it).

bobq : I was thinking the same thing. Also, you're the FIRST person on Vizzed that I have seen that has mentioned Radiohead and Arcade Fire (who I'm seeing for the 2nd time at the end of July : DDD) and that is AWESOME. 

For me, I sometimes hear a fairly new release and get really into it, for example Jealous (I Ain't With It) by Chromeo, and other times I "discover" a band that I come to really enjoy through one of their older songs/albums, example North American Scum by LCD Soundsystem. Both songs, I have at some point BINGE listened to them for months, and to some extent, I still am. You, person who is reading this, should check out both songs, both ARTISTS for that matter. Cause they're good.

Eh, not really. I have a playlist I like to play through before I listen to other things, so not usually.

I only listen to them a lot if I really like them, but for the most part, I try to not do that. It simply ruins the feel of the song, and makes me want to not listen to it in the future, which is always disappointing whenever the song is really good. I most recently did this with The One - Kirina. 

I have just spoiled about 4 more songs for myself. It's getting annoying, I need to stop listening to new songs his much.

I never listen to new songs, because new songs are bad compared to older ones in my opinion.
Old songs just has a place in my heart, where they will always be. <3

Flame534 : Its hard to find a good new band. I meant songs that are new to you not really new songs. The only newish bands I listen to are Hank Williams III (love Hank III) and the P.I.N.s.

Sadly, yeah, I do. When I find a song I like. I listen to it for about 2 or 3 months, and then it is already old. Only thing I do not like about music in general, honestly. 

I don't really listen to the new songs that they make these days. The songs these days in general seem to only be about drugs, sex, drinking alcohol, or something else that is useless to me. I stopped listening to new songs ages ago.

I am sticking to old rock songs and old songs now and I have been listening to them when I have the chance.

Oh, yeah. When I hear a song I love I will listen to it on repeat for like an hour each day for a few weeks. When it comes to Taylor Swift, it's even more intense. lol At least if the song is from someone I'm not a huge fan of, I'll listen to other music. When it's a new song from Taylor...well.

'Out Of the Woods' was released last Monday, I'm listening to it right now and it's all I've been listening to for the past week. She's releasing another new song tonight 'Welcome To New York', which I'll obsess over, then the album is out next week. So '1989' will be all I listen to for the foreseeable future. My sister said I remind her of a tumblr text post. Something about being so obsessed with a song that even though it's always on repeat, it's not enough and you just wast to marry the song. Yeah, that's me.

I can keep it going usually a week. Then after a month or so I'm indifferent to it, then past that I'm usually sick of the song and won't listen to it again.

Yes, I do listen them way too much. That happened, for example, with a song named "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift. It's very good song and I'm still listening to it quite much.

I recently got on the billboards top 100.

I hadn't been on there in months, and I listened through the top 10.

I got hooked to a few of them. Even a few of the songs I thought I hated after the first listen, I got addicted to later. There must be some psychological explanation for this. =P
