Both of these updates were updates I really wanted to create when I made the Game Collection feature but I just never got around to it.


Game Thread Subscription
When you add a game to your collection or edit a game in your collection, you now have the option to 'Subscribe' to that game. When you subscribe to a game, you'll receive a Notification any time a thread is submitted to that game, which includes Discussion Threads, Reviews and Walkthroughs.

The 'Subscription' checkbox is subscribed by default and has automatically be enabled to all game collections so if for some reason you don't want to be subscribed to certain games that you own, go ahead and edit your collection and unsubscribe to those games.

This feature is probably one of my favorite Game Collection features. If a user invests a lot of time a lot of time making a Review or a Walkthrough for a game than it only makes sense that every user who owns the game gets a notification so that they can leave feedback to the thread. There's nothing more disappointing than investing a bunch of time into a review or walkthrough only for it to get little to no replies. This is also a handy feature for users who need help with a game and make a thread.


Game Collection Categories
This feature lets you categorize the games in your collection. When the category names are clicked, the page will then only show games that are in that same category.

Let's say you had a Playstation collection and you wanted to categorize your games based on which were Black Label (the more rare version) and which was Green Label (also known as Greatest Hits). You could add the category 'Black Label' for all the Black Labels and 'Green Label' to all the Green labels.

Other ways you could categorize your games:
-Based on whether you have the instruction manual
-If the game is for sale, what lot it's part of
-Stickers and/or writing on the game
-Game has troubles working
-Location of the game (some users sometimes have games scattered among different locations)

For most users, this probably is a feature that'll never get used but for users with big game collections or for users who sell games (both which apply to me), this will be very handy. Since I'm selling a lot of games, I want to group them based on lot since those are games I sell grouped together. This helps me to know which games are part of a lot and helps buyers know what they're getting in a lot. You can see an example of some grouped games I plan to sell here:

So if something is already added to my collection and I don't want to subscribe I need to edit it?

Also, is it possible to subscribe to games that you don't own? I want to subscribe to my 2 hacks, but I do not own a physical copy of them.

I'm wondering if I might get a bunch of notifications now that I somewhat completed my collection page, and have to set the subscription to Off for all of them... is it possible to not be subscribed by default?

This is exactly what I needed. I've had to put "NO" in my description if I'm not selling, this is much easier. I just love virtual organization, you should see my flash drive.  

Superb update. I experienced this just now with a thread on Mega Man and Super Mario 64. Shame I made all those reviews before this update, but I guess I should just make more? XD Does this also work with adding videos to the page?

tgags123 : You would need to edit it. I'll eventually make it a feature to subscribe to games you don't own, probably using some sort of game favoriting.

tRIUNE : Currently not an option but I could look into adding that option in the future. Nice to see you updating your collection.

Darkpower508 : It currently doesn't do this for any other content added to a game but I could maybe do something like that in the future.
