These are the YouTube links to the videos
(uploaded to the Vizzed YouTube channel) but I checked to make sure the
videos were uploaded to the game pages, and they were.

My first submission is the beginning
theme for Urbz, Sims in the City. (For GBA) It's not the kind
of music I usually listen to, but as video game music I just really like
it for some reason. Since it's the beginning theme, I had it recorded
on the first day of this competition.

My second submission is the credits theme for Urbz, Sims in the City. (For GBA) Most
people would probably find it annoying or obnoxious, but I like it. The
fact that it's made up mostly, if not completely, of sound effects from
the game, makes it pretty cool, too. The credits are accessible before
even beating the game, so I had it recorded on the first day of this
competition.

My third submission is the Sanctuary theme from The Legend of Zelda, A link to the Past. (For
SNES) I've always found it to be a pretty, if somewhat creepy,
song, ever since I first played the game, about a year or so ago. It
took me about an hour to get to the sanctuary so I could record this
song. The sanctuary isn't all that far into the game, but the game was
running a bit slow for me that day. Had it recorded on the first day. Then it randomly disappeared from the game page, so I had to rerecord it.

My fourth submission is the theme from Teehee Valley in Mario & Luigi - Superstar Saga. (For GBA) Most music from this game is extremely annoying and obnoxious (in my opinion, at least), but this music is actually kind of pretty, comparatively speaking. I love whatever wind instrument is playing, though I'm not quite sure what it is. To get to Teehee Valley, you have to play about halfway through the game, if I'm not mistaken (I hadn't played the game for awhile before my playthrough to reach Teehee Valley, so I'm not quite sure exactly how long the game is). Between losing at boss battles several times in a row, forgetting to save, and having a short attention span sometimes, it took me about a week to reach Teehee Valley and record this song.

I'll edit this post when my fifth submission is ready.

awesome99999 : Bud, you need to record actual game play, just use the Retro game Room and the Plug-in and you'll be good to go, remember, you need to upload it to the Vizzed Youtube channel, otherwise it doesn't count.

Man this is a bummer, I really wish I could use the Retro Game Room on this computer, now we have a music competition and I can't even take any part in it, this just stinks, especially seeing as music is more or less my thing. Oh well, I guess I can't really complain and it's not like I need the Viz at all either, good luck to everyone who competes, I'm routing for anyone who adds Nobuo Uematsu or Yusanori Mitsuda.

I'm going with Chrono Trigger, Overall.  But this needs to be specific, so I'll go with "Yearnings of the Wind," A.K.A. 600 A.D.

To the lovely people who wants to take part to the contest but haven't read the rules in the very first post, nor saw the other comments, I'll make it clear like crystal: you are not supposed to name the song. You have to play the play, record the part where the music can be heard, then upload your video (might take a few hours depending of the size and your internet connection, then put the link in your post. Make sure that the video can be seen on the game's page, otherwise your entry won't be valid. Hope this helped you but, for god's sake, please read closely the rules before posting, folks.

Ok so, I was about to post my first entry, the upload worked but I can't add the video to the game's page. So I came to the conclusion that I forgot a step and I might be right considering I haven't used Freemake afterwards. I'm going to reupload my first entry and not forget that damn conversion like a moron

Anyway, here is the link to the my first entry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMyn5orUdhU ("Wood Carving Partita" from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night). I think it's certainly my favorite music from this game. I 'm not saying the other tunes are bad, actually I like the soundtrack of this game but "Wood Carving Partita" is my favorite music.

My second entry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8dpGq5l1cU ("Calling from Heaven" from Castlevania: Bloodlines). A messed up castle, lair of the Countess and Count Dracula, and an epic music played in the background during the exploration of the last stage. The end couldn't be better.

My third submission: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HVcVf1mIBA ("Storm Eagle stage theme" from Megaman X). I like this stage and the music. Nothing else to say.

Fourth entry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRsqKoBer1c ("Title screen theme" from Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu). It's one of the most memorable games for me so it has to be in my submissions.

And my last submission is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLmtE_z59Vg ("Franky's theme / New Age Retro Hippie theme" from EarthBound). Yes, the title of the video is "Franky's theme" because the first time you can hear this tune is during this fight but you can also hear it when you face the enemy called "New Age Retro Hippie" later in the game. I don't know why but I like this tune. Really catchy

Ok, I have my five submissions and that was tough to keep 5 tunes among all the musics stuck in my mind. Now, if the video game adder could cooperate with me, that would be great ha ha

Davideo7 : Third choice: "Water World" in Donkey Kong Country 3 (Game Boy Advance)

The Game Boy Advance version of Donkey Kong Country 3 has a new soundtrack by David Wise rather than Eveline Fischer, so                            many people would agree that the GBA soundtrack is better. Plus, this rendition of "Water World" is sublime and good enough to                          place in my favorite video game songs.

Wow, I'm very pleased with all of the participation already, I may have to make another competition like this in the future.

Laian : I'm not so sure what you mean.

Gamin'Gal : Yeap this competition lasts a whole month.

pollution_skunk : You can definitely record from the sound test screen

awesome99999 : Doing that counts.

huygeb : lol that was a typo.

Laian : That's where the challenge comes in. If the game doesn't have a sound test page and your target song is deep into the game, you have to play through the game to that point.

I haven't participated in a competition in a long time now but this one sounds too fun to pass up, plus it's not as time consuming as other competitions. It's going to be real hard limiting it to just 5 though because I could come up with 10 easily.

Final Fantasy VII (PSX) Aerith Theme

Easily the greatest video game song of all time! It's a very sad and emotional song, especially if you know the scene that the song goes with.

Wild Arms: (PSX) Theme Song

This is easily on my top 5 most favorite Video Game songs ever. This game introduced me to RPGs so this music video is extra nostalgic to me for that reason.

Space Harrier: (Arcade) Theme Song

Shenmue introduced me to this game so therefore this brings me back to those epic memories. I remember spending a lot of time at the arcade in that game.

The Flintstones: (SNES) Unused Song 2

This was a song that was never used in the game (but can be accessed from the sound test menu) but it's easily the best song in the game and probably on my top 25 favorite video game songs. It gets really good at about the 1 minute mark.

Donkey Kong Country: (SNES) Fear Factory

The Donkey Kong Country games contain some of the best retro music so it was tough picking a song but I ended up picking a song that is universally (among fans) one of the best in the series. It was also one of the first video game MP3s I've ever downloaded to my computer (which I think goes all the way back to the Napster days).

Davideo7 :
Basically, my video is uploaded on the Vizzed channel so I try to add it the game's page but it doesn't want. Everytime I try, it says "Video could not be added", even after multiples tries. And it did last since two or three days. I'm going to try with another music and see if it works.

This is a track that I'm sure will have far too much competition to win, or really to even come close, but it's one of my personal favorites from this series.  Enjoy my third entrant

I LOVE video game music! I'm going to enter, too! I'll update my entries as I get them; many are later in their games.

1) VS. Mode - Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine - Here

*This is also the final boss music in Puyo Puyo, but it's REALLY hard to get to it and I can't play that quickly. Also, the song is really short on Puyo Puyo.

ALRIGHT my first submission finally uploaded!

Submission #1 Is Aquatic Ambience from Donkey Kong Country -GBA (I would use the SNES version, but it wasn't co-operating with me :/)

EDIT: I have submission #2 here as well: Boss Battle Theme from Sonic Advance 3 -GBA

And Now for Submission #3: Title Screen Theme from Super Mario World 2- Yoshi's Island for the SNES. I grew up with the Paper Mario version, but I still love this one.

Submission #4 is here! Boss Battle from Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap for the GBA this time. It didn't occur to me to pause the game until a little ways into recording, so forgive me for the sudden volume decrease.

Finally, my last submission is done after much procrastination!

Swamp Friend Area from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team! (also from the GBA)

I replaced my Sonic CD (sonic boom) song with FFVII's Aerith Theme. I know I'm biased but that to me is the greatest video game song of all time, modern or retro.
