Hello for those that do not know I am a weather spotter and a weather forecaster. I am going to be talking about the different tornado allies in the U.S.A. Most people do not know that there are 4 tornado allies were tornadoes are common.

Classical Tornado Alley-This is the tornado alley that everybody has probably heard of in some point in their lives. Rightfully so it gets the most attention due to how many outbreaks occur here. The states that are included in the traditional tornado alley are: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Eastern Colorado, Nebraska, Eastern Wyoming, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri. Important cities in this area are: Dallas TX, Lubbock, TX, Oklahoma City OK, Denver CO, Omaha NE, Cheyenne WY, Sioux Falls SD, Fargo ND, ST. Paul MN, Des Moines IA, and ST. Louis MO.

Dixie Alley-The traditional tornado alley gets the most attention for number of tornadoes. However the tornado alley with the most Deaths is the Dixie Alley. This region can also be prone to tornado outbreaks. Dixie Alley often has two tornado seasons spring to early summer and late Autumn. States that are included in the Dixie Alley are: Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia. Tennessee and Kentucky. Pretty much the American South. Some  cities in the Dixie Alley are: New Orleans LA, Little Rock AR, Jackson, MS, Tuscaloosa AL, Atlanta, GA, Chattanooga TN, and Louisville KY just to name a few.

Coastal Alley-Coastal Alley is an Alley that some are not aware of it covers the Southern and Mid Atlantic coastal states. States that are often included in the Coastal Alley are: South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and sometimes Eastern Pennsylvania is included. Some cities that are included in the Coastal Alley are: Greenville SC, Raleigh, NC, Richmond VA, and Baltimore MD.

Hoosier Alley also known as Ohio River Alley-The Ohio River Alley or Hoosier Alley is no stranger to tornado outbreaks. Tornadoes often visit this region in Late Spring to early fall. States that are included in the Ohio River Alley include: Western Pennsylvania Ohio Indiana Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin. Some cities that are included in this alley are: Cincinnati OH Pittsburgh PA, Detroit MI, Indianapolis IN, Chicago IL, and Madison WI.

While tornadoes have occurred in every state and can occur anytime of the year when conditions come together. These are the 4 regions that are the most prone to having tornadoes. Spring is right around the corner so that means these areas will be getting active soon so stay safe.
