We live in a society where not all people can respect the opinions of others (sadly), or at least...not all people realize that if you like something, that DOES NOT affect them...my older brother hates me if I speak about him secretly but I don't care this time, in my case, I have been annoyed for my taste of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, he annoys me very often, and he almost always says that MLP: FiM is ''just for little girls'' and that I shouldn't be watching it...the thing that I hate about that the most, however, is the fact that he is the ONLY person who has annoyed me for that. My parents know very well that I like that cartoon, the same thing can be said about most (if not all) my cousins, even some of my friends know that I'm a brony, and they don't give me trouble for that, I still get along with them very well.

So...if you have ever been annoyed by someone just because you enjoy My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, feel free to share your story. This isn't the main topic but, if you haven't been annoyed for that but there are one or more persons who think that ''you are weird'' because of that, you can also say it.

lolid23 : The question is a bit confusing on what your asking. Maybe if you changed it to "Have you ever been picked on for liking MLP?" or something like that. It took a little to figure out what your trying to say.

But yeah I have been picked on for liking the show but they have been by people I know and they are just messing with me like I mess with them. They don't mean to be mean its just that me and my friends mess with each other a lot.

Yeah, I have been annoyed by it a few times. But, if someone stops being friends with you just because you watch a tv show, they most likely weren't good friends anyway. But I can tell when people are joking around, and when people are legitimately being mean.

Yeah, my brother has picked on me from time-to-time for liking MLP.  But since he's gotten into Littlest Pet Shop he's been a bit quieter about it lol  Really, I love a lot of the memes that have come forth from MLP.  But Smile HD...No, just no.  That is not my Pinkie Pie, and she doesn't deserve that.  

Hello Y'all I'm sorry if anybody saw my earlier comment I posted on the wrong forum. My comment was meant for another MLP thread so I apologize for that. If watching MLP makes you happy than do not let what others say bother you. I think it is wrong that people especially guys are being bullied because they watch this show. With that being said don't let what others say pull you down. If watching MLP makes you happy by all means watch it and enjoy If friends leave you over it than they probably were not true friends to begin with.

I think most of the time that it's wonderful that something such as a cartoon can bring a huge fan base together. To me it's no different people who like Adventure Time or such shows.

I think however there is a lot of flame for the fan base as there is an awful lot of porn/rule 34/ whatever you can think of. Some of it is just "innocent" I.e. people representing the characters friendship to each other-some people take it way to far, and event though with every show you get artwork such as that for me it was the scale of it; it was just a few bits and pieces, you can innocently type say, Big Macintosh and you'll get images on Google that I don't think parents would want there children seeing. Obviously it's target market was girls (I'd say 6-13) to begin with, but the creators have obviously seen the fan-base and recognised it. 

For me, no-one else where I live watches it (well there was one person, but he was obsessed with the porn side of it) so I don't really have that problem. I guess though you need to hold your head high and tell people to mind their own business-if it makes you happy than why let other people ruin it?

mainly just on youtube comments (trolls, need i say more?). i don't bring it up all too much around them if any of my friends don't like the show so they in turn don't really bug me about it. the trolls though...lets just say trolls are one thing i do NOT tolerate. if its in youtube comments then i block them, in chat on other sites (in online games too) i merely mute them. trolls are irritating but easy enough to block.

being attacked for my choice of avatar, for being a fan of the show, numerous insults. the youtube comments section truly is one of the worst parts of the internet. i even have one of those anti-brony brotherhood nutjobs blocked. Donado Xie (feel free to block him yourself both on youtube and google+. that'll completely block him from view on youtube), profile about page says:

It happens all the time but it never really bothers me, I mean it is the internet after all it is bound to happen, the sooner you face the fact that out there someone will try to insult you for what you like or don't like the easier it becomes in my opinion. 

As for you tube comments... Why even look in that heap of idiocy... No matter what video you look at unless the creator of the video blocks comments.. The only thing you usually see is people complaining about one thing or the other... It's just a bunch of people who have nothing better to do and therefore want to cause as much havoc as possible... As soon as you reply to them or even essentially put them in their place you will get a response like "LOL I WAZ JUS TROLLIN, Y SO SRS NOOB" or usually a lot worse destruction of the English language. 

In fact I've embraced the fact people dislike people who dislike MLP, Of course you won't find any of that stuff here.. Because I wouldn't bring it to a family friendly site... but let's just say it's fun watching people who have a pointless hatred against a specific group of people, take effect when you just react kindly to them ...

i would say its more like 75-95% of the time that that is true of youtube comments. 100% when ever multiple people try to do one of the most idiotic things ever, dragging both politics AND religion into the same conversation making a dumb argument far more idiotic.

thing is...youtube is about the only place i ever see quite such a level of ambient negativity across an entire website. anywhere else and its usually not that bad, partly because the fandom has spread to just about everywhere so aside from trolls not many people act real nasty towards fans of the show from what i've seen. then again, i did get chased out of the mlp:fim chat room over at kongregate for talking about the games i play there in the chat which is rather stupid if you ask me. i'd always have people telling me to take such talk to the games chat room yet those very people would be oblivious to, or be ignoring, the fact that not all games have a separate chat room. so yeah, i got chased out of there by a bunch of jerks for using the chat room for what it was made for...chatting. >.> if they didn't want anyone talking about games in the chat room then they should've gone and specified that the room was ONLY for mlp related chat.

The closest thing I've had to "annoyance" was someone who was either an anti-brony or just a flat-out troll posting in the comments of a brony-related video. He started an entire flamewar before I had even arrived, but I didn't get involved in that. However, when I told someone else that the video was meant as a joke, he randomly appeared about a month later to throw a few random insults at both of us. I just asked him what the relevance was of him reviving a month-old comment chain, and he didn't reply again after that.

Never had any one bug me about it, but then again I haven't told anyone IRL and your run-of-the-mill internet trolls are easily put off by ignoring them.
