Ok so we all know that the President of Russia does not like gays.

So what surprised me is that when the Russians came at the end of the Parade of Countries they played the song "Not Gonna Get Us" by the Russian lesbian pop group t.A.T.u.

I was wondering if anyone noticed that.  Also has anyone heard their music?  I actually like their music though some of the song I can't play in my house.... Thus I am not linking any videos.

I haven't payed attention to what songs were playing when I was watching the opening ceremony when Team Russia came out, I have heard that t.A.T.u happens to be a lesbian pop group and it seem weird that Putin haven't notice it, this seem quite ironic for the Olympics this year in Russia. Although I haven't listen to this band, so it's really hard to say more about this, but it is weird.

Well everybody knows that the "lesbian" image they had was a marketing ploy and both of the girls were actually straight. But their manager wanted to sell them as a lesbian couple or something to the western markets to get more attention to the group.

Huh, kind of amusing to hear t.A.T.u played for the Olympics. I actually have one of their CDs because there songs were so catchy back then. But then it was like they kinda fell off the face of the earth because I sure haven't heard from them in the longest time...but then again they are in Russia so stuff about them might not always reach here in the US. Not entirely sure, but hey, that's pretty cool.

Yeah, I noticed that. 'Not Gonna Get Us' was playing throughout the Parade of Nations, which I found amusing. They weren't actually together, but considering their music, I was quite surprised to hear them.  

I actually really liked them when they released '200 km/h in the Wrong Lane'. I still have that album and listen to it every now and again.
