I'm not sure how it'll go over, but this is the first Sonic game since the Genesis that I've really wanted to play (and I didn't even like the Genesis Sonic games that much, with exception of Spinball and 3D Blast).

I don't like the new Knuckles, he looks...terrible. The new Tails I welcome though; He's always been my favorite in the series, and now he's even cooler. Sonic? Meh, I'm neutral on his new look.

And the gameplay looks amazing on the 3DS Version, but the Wii U version is somewhat iffy for me. I do think it's cool that they added something of a Beat 'em Up aspect to it along with the Platforming, I just haven't found a Sonic game with 3D movement that I could really tolerate, hence my love for the look of the 3Ds version.

Will it go over? Who knows? The Sonic fan community has had to accept some of the most dramatic (and usually undesirable) changes between games ever, and that on a regular basis. They seem to be the most resilient fanbase out there though, so even if it fails I doubt it'll hurt the franchise much. I honestly don't see why the 3Ds version would fail though. Even I want to play that. lol

At first after seeing gameplay of the Wii U version, I wasn't too sure, but after seeing other parts, like some of the cutscenes, and the rival battles, I think that this has a lot of POTENTIAL. I'm not saying it will be good, but I'm saying it has POTENTIAL.

Keep in mind that Sonic 06 also had potential. Also keep in mind that Kingdom Hearts II had potential, and that it is my favorite game of all time because it lived up to that potential.

Potential =/= good, but I have high hopes for both the game, AND the show! I really like how the show looks too!

name543 : I decided to preorder that game because I thought the fact that someone else other than the Sonic Team was working on it would possibly make this a great game. But boy was I wrong. The graphics aren't very good compared to other wii u games, the combat's bland, the soundtrack, which is normally the best part of a sonic game was mediocre at best, and also you can't get a game over because you have infinite lives! Also the game overall is way to easy. Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric is the worst Sonic game since Sonic 06...
