Paulstretching is pretty much slowing down a song. The technique got popular when a Justin Bieber song got slowed down, and it actually sounded good. I also joined the fun

Post your favorite examples of paulstretching here, insect.

I had not heard of it before, so I went and listened to a few of them including the Justin Bieber one. (I liked yours on youtube)

They sound soothing and eerie at the same time.

My favorite so far is this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjc72E0KTCk

I tried listening to a Super Mario Bros 2 one and that one was actually more annoying than soothing.

EideticMemory : Now, THAT is one heck of a paulstretch.

BTW, you ever listened to Brian Eno's On Land? That album is probably the best dark ambient album there is.

This technique was invented before Justin Beiber was even born guys.  It is called "chopped and screwed" and originated out of houston TX in the 90's.  Though I think there is a difference as it seems this Paulsstrectching or whatever slows the whole song down? Where as to "Chop and Screw" a song you only do it to the parts that make the song sound best.  This technique became most popular during the ------ WHO  MIKE JONES era.  I wonder if it derives from Paul Wall in that song at all?
