It's not the length of a post so much as the content.  It seems a lot of longer posts are simply copied and pasted just to drive the word length and rack up Viz for people.  Also, long posts tend to get boring for a generation that wants to have everything now and immediately.  I find a length of about 150 to 200 words is a decent length.  It answers the question, it gives some incite and maybe some suggestions, I give my point of view, and I call it a day.  No one wants to read a ton unless you're doing some sort of role playing game where it's driven by word usage.

To me, most long posts are copies or don't really say anything.  I can write words all day but I may not get to the point immediately.  Shorter posts are better because they're more likely to be read.

When I makes a wrestling thread with lots of words there seems to be like 2 or 3 replies to the thread which shouldn't really be a shock to me cuz not everyone is a fan of wrestling!!

Well, with reviews it's harder to read one about a game that you've never heard of unless the review is just spectacular. Plus, there are so many long posts that are one or two huge paragraphs that it seems daunting to even begin reading. 
I do understand what you mean when it comes to posts. There are quite a few threads that would be better answered with a paragraph instead of a sentence. In those cases, it can be annoying to bring across a valid point but be ignored and proceeded with several one sentence, irrelevant posts.

I do feel like this sometimes, mostly for reviews, I put a lot of work into them and maybe 3 people reply. It isn't a big deal I guess, but I kinda wish more people would provide feedback and comment on my work more often because I appreciate the constructive criticism and comments to make my reviews better.

Thread wise, most of them are less than 250 words because sometimes I like to explain things in depth for clarity.

This doesn't really happen to me though there is times I never get a reply or feedback.. a lot of people don't take the time out to read the long review or post they just prefer straight to the point but I keep in mind that the people who really care will read it. It's all that matters you know.

Now that I've done a few longer posts, it's more apt to answer.
When I do longer posts, I feel that put so much thought into them and that they are great works on my part. 
It's a little sad to think that there's a good chance that they'll never be read in their entirety.

In the end, I don't really care, I enjoyed putting my thoughts out there and have them available to read if I need to discuss the same topics in other places and times.

But, instead of being upset about it that we should try and now dwell on it and move forward...it depends on how interesting the post may be in a way. So if it is interesting people will reply to it. Then in a way we can try and better our threads, on how we want it to be.
