What do you think is the most useless item in any Legend of Zelda game. If possible try to explain why.

I think it's Circus leader's mask from Majoras Mask.
You have to go through miles of trouble just to get it and what does it do? Help you in one of the missions you had to go through to get it. I really can't understand what the developers were thinking. Only explanation I can come up with is that they thought that you should get some reward for completing the mission and the game should have more masks.
For fairness I can think of three good things to say about it
1) It's not the only reward for completing that side quest
2) It's needed to get Fierce deity mask
3) It looks fun and opens new dialog with characters.
But those facts don't really make the mask any more useful.

Please comment if you can think of any other even more worthless item .

The Mole Mitts in Minish Cap are completely pointless apart from the fact that they can be used as a shovel but wouldn't a shovel be easier?
I mean who wants to look like a fool wearing some Mole hands?

In my opinion I believe the Gorgon Sword from Ocarina of Time is useless. I know it has a good damage limit, but after using it a couple times, it breaks into something so useless. I mean, you end up going through all these troubles in a side mission to get a new sword. Then after going through all these troubles, you end up feeling rewarded for receiving this (what seems to be) special item. And behold! You end up losing this sword after a couple swings, only to find all that hard work was shattered by a Re-dead or other enemies. Though, this is just my opinion. ::Chuckles::

Heheh yeah, I had forgotten about the Bighorn sword when I was making this thread. I always kind thought that the weapon was put in the game to deliberately annoy players. A troll before trolling existed if you will .
As for Mole mitts, I can't say anything about them because I haven't played Minish cap yet. Since it's for Game boy advance I suppose I'll start playing it in RGR after I've finished Earthbound.

Keep 'em coming people.

I would say the Deku Nuts.I have never used the Deku Nuts at all except for about 3 times when I used them to see what they did.

That magic book in the original Zelda: Link to the Past, that lets the wand end with fire when it hits a target or a wall.  Useless and it didn't do any damage.

Well the sand rod from the newest game is in my opinion because all though you use it a ton in a dungeon it really has no use other then that.

I'm going to have to go with "Magic Powder" on this one. in A Link to the Past you have to get the mushroom (also useless other then to get the powder) to get this stuff made. which you NEVER have to do in the first place. Yes you can use it to upgrade your magic level. But really other then that it is just another time consuming pointless thing to get, which everyone gets because you cant play a Zelda game with out getting EVERYTHING!!!

katie.rae :
Actually Magic powder was one of my most used items in a link to the past. That is because when you sprinkle it to anti-fairy it turns into a regular fairy. That little info must have saved my life dozens of times on some dungeons.
http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Anti-Fairy
Other than that the item is pretty much useless though.

I was hoping there would be some more posts on here so when I replied to this I wasn't sandwiching but there is not

uusretrohippi : I have actually never used the magic powder to do that. In fact I have played this game through countless times and didn't even know you could do that. I now feel like a newbie for the first time ever in a Zelda game.

katie.rae :
I think the whole thing was supposed to be just a fun little secret. I would never have thought to try it myself if I hadn't read about it from the internet, and in a way that's actually much lamer than not knowing about it at all.

Besides everyone probably feels like newbie once in a while . I find new secrets in Ocarina of time every time I play it, and god only knows how many times I've completed the game.

I'm going to mention the Hint Glasses from the new Zelda: Link Between Worlds. I guess this item does have uses; it does what its name implies. The reason why I'm dumping it here is because I thought a lot of the hints (that I actually paid for) were very obvious, except maybe 1 or 2. Speaking of 'paid' you have to use one 3ds coin per hint. I'll admit, this is a very good way to prevent a player from getting hints, and just quitting/reseting.

Note that I'm not counting pointless Majora's Mask masks (like the Sun and Moon mask).

Call me crazy, but I never really used bombchus except when they were required, like in the Spirit Temple.

The most useless item in any video game from The Legend of Zelda franchise, in my opinion, is the Wooden Shield from Skyward Sword. It is burnt easily, and I wonder why I even have it with me right now... I'm in the Eldin Volcanoes!

Dark knight of the blackened sun. I am Sword Legion, one of many. My mask is thick, and my armor is strong. All the more necessary in a world such as this. . .

I think it is the monster guts from A Link Between Worlds because you get like a hundred and need 20 to make a potion that is worthless

katie.rae : When I used it it down graded my magic level by half....

Deku nuts are indeed completely useless.. unless there is a special way to use them, whatever that way is I don't know...

Zora Marslink : Yah that does help especially when doing Turtle Rock.
I use those deku nuts to stun the first boss. I just found it easier then worrying about aiming my slingshot. they made fighting some of the stronger (not that there really is any) mobs. They can make life easier but not necessary to use the.

Everything has a use in the game just some items not more then one use.

I would say that the wood sticks from Ocarina of Time are pretty lame, but you have to use them to transfer fire to other unlit torches. I would have to say that the Goron sword is pretty useless though. It is only used for show, and it is sort of an unlockable. Pretty dumb if you ask me.

I agree with a lot of the stuff you guys have suggested, the deku nuts and sticks are both very useless items in my opinion, the deku nuts are only used to stun enemies which is pointless because you can either use your slingshot or a sword
which are both better options to actually beat an enemy rather than just stun them. Then there's the deku stick which is only good for lighting other torches out of you reach,  otherwise they serve no purpose even as a weapon because they are weak and will eventually break. So those are some useless Zelda items to name a few.
