As some of you know, I'm involved in a College program called CollegePlus!. This program is designed to be an affordable, yet educational way to get through college a little quicker without missing out on an education. Basically, I'm taking CLEP tests for many of the basic subjects. After I get 70 college credits, I'll transfer to Liberty University (online) for my remaining 50 credits.

So, to the point of this thread.

As of Tuesday, I have passed my first CLEP test! It was Analyzing and Interpreting Literature. I completed 2 semesters worth of english lit after studying for less than 2 weeks. Sounding pretty good to you? It sure is to me!

So, I'm currently at 9 college credits (3 from a worldview course I took, it wasn't a CLEP test tho). Yays!

How many College credits do you have, college students?

mrfe : I am highly jealous of you..... What about high school??????????
I did 1 semester of college so far and I got me 15 credits. Back in high school, I took a college now course, (And got student of the month) but I am to lazy to tell my college about it so I didn't get any credits for it. I really wanted to take some CLEP tests a few months ago but I thouhg tit was too expensive and hard.

zanderlex : I completed High School in 2 years. I have more High School credits than I will ever need or use, enough to pick and choose what I want based on the degree I decide to aim for.

Around here, CLEP tests cost approx. $130. Considering how much taking that class for a semester would cost, that's a better deal imo. Besides, I know all this stuff anyway.

mrfe : Ok. Now, I am even more jealous. Here in New York, we need I believe 48 credits to graduate. I took so many classes, that by the end of my senior year, I had at least 40 more credits than I needed, and I could have graduated after my Sophomore year, but according to some law here or something, students are not allowed to do that.

That's awesome, mrfe! Do you plan to do any further studies once you get your college degree, since you may get it at an age most graduate high school?

I'm a senior in high school and have 36 credits and 60 before I graduate. Instead of graduating in three years (or even two), I plan to stay all four years of college. I'll end up picking up an extra major and taking as many graduate courses as I can. Also, I want to try everything else that college students do.

EideticMemory : I don't plan to at this time, as a bachelors degree sounds like it'll be enough for what I want to do. If I do decide to continue, tho, then I'll still be finishing before many people.

Sounds like you've got a plan! Do you have any ideas on what you'd like to major in?

mrfe : I'm going to major in Biomedical Engineering. I might pick up Neuroscience, Biology, or Mechanical Engineering as a second major.

Seems like you have decided what you want to be, so does that mean you've chosen your major yet?

Sounds pretty cool. I wish I got into something like this earlier, but it might be something I might want to look into. This upcoming semester, I'm taking my first college class (4 credit class) in game design, although, I was originally going to take a drawing class. Unfortunately, by the time I was able to get everything I needed, it was already filled up.

EideticMemory : Wow, that sounds like a lot of work! Good for you for going for it though, I know you'll get it!

I'm probably going for either a Business Management Degree or one regarding Entrepreneur-ship.

I am guess this is the equivalent of GCSE's in Canada since you are 16.
Congratulations!
Passing a test is tough, since I did my Mock SATS (completely pointless test) and failed my English and Science, just lucky they were mocks.

Do you have any advise for me for the future.

MechaMento : Actually, these are College-level tests. I completed High School in 2 years, and am now in college (though technically in 11th grade, I'm not doing any kind of high school work. I am only doing college-level courses).

I agree, it's tough. Honestly, my biggest help has been just setting small goals. Perhaps set the goal of studying a certain number of pages in a book you have to study per hour or something. Setting many small goals is better than one big goal, imo.
